Fantastic location, walk from train station, in historic part of Leiden. Lovely, well-appointed room, all the conveniences. Enjoyed the breakfast in the pretty breakfast room.
Thereâs no reception desk or person to greet you and provide advice. Also, anyone with mobility problems would struggle to climb the tiny circular staircase. Street facing room can be noisy (pub on street corner). Garden room was quiet.

The room was very lovely and cozy. We stayed in a suite which had a little more room and if youâre a couple, I would recommend it. The bathroom was really nice and efficient and the shower had really good Water pressure. ďżź If you know about Dutch stairs youâll be well prepared. We didnât have too much issue and my husband is in his late 50s and Iâm at 40s. Packing large suitcases might make it hard to get up the staircase.

The location was great.
The room was an attic which was very difficult to climb. Stairs were too steep to carry bags upstairs.

Comfortable and well-appointed room. Excellent position in the old part of the city. Breakfast was available but I did not take it.
The staircase was very steep and twisted and the steps were not wide enough to put your feet on. Of course the house was old, but a more precise indication should have been given to warn clients. There was no clear indication on the website that there was no reception desk and access was by door code given before travel.

Fabulous location short walk from station, beautiful room, well designed and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed. Lovely restaurants and bars nearby. Owner really helpful throughout.

We loved the location of the hotel, the amazing shower and the comfortable bed. The room was large and had everything we needed. We enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast on our first morning; the owner was friendly and welcoming and he was happy for us to leave our luggage in reception after checking out, so that we could continue exploring the city. The hotel is situated in an attractive and quiet, yet central, part of Leiden. We would happily stay there again!

Excellent location for exploring Leiden. Very clean and comfortable room. Appreciated small refrigerator for wines, and coffee-making facilities. The availability of breakfast at the hotel is a "plus", very handy on days with a busy travel agenda.
We chose an inner courtyard view thinking it would be quieter with less street noise, but found that a neighboring bar was hosting a King's Day party on their adjacent courtyard. Ex Libris informed us that the bar had promised the very loud "music" would end at 10 PM, and somewhat miraculously, it did. Based on other reviews, we expected the staircase to our first floor room to be narrow and steep, and it was; but carefully lifting suitcases up a couple steps at a time worked OK.

Great location, spacious room with nice touches!
The stairs may be an issue for some guests and the sound travelled a lot between the rooms/hallways

Large bed, quiet room, small hotel overall with private feeling
Drain of the shower was clogged. The staircase is extremely narrow and steep, beware if this may be an issue for you. (E.g. larger luggage, etc.)

The room was ideal... comfy seats at the end of the bed for watching tv and the bed was super comfortable!!!
Would have preferred a more expansive breakfast. Although the yogurt and fruit was good, there wasn't enough granola and it had way too much cinnamom on top. Luckily the bagel was really tasty.

Cosy warm with a very comfortable bed
There should have been a warning about the steep staircase - not so easy with a suitcase

Very clean room and comfortable bed in quiet and lovely part of the town. Stairs to the room were very steep but not a problem as we were carrying backpacks rather than suitcases.
Only 1 towel was provided but I found a linen cupboard on the landing so we were able to find a second one!

difficult.

The location of hotel was great. Most times a short walking distance to activities. The room was clean and staff checked the room everyday.
Very noisy hotel. Only 5 rooms in the small establishment. All very close and somewhat cramped. No sound insulation at all. I heard all conversations and noise from my neighbours. The room came with a garden view, but mostly saw garbage in back of neighbours yards. The stairs are narrow and difficult to manage with or without luggage. That could be a safety issue? No contact with the host. Everything done through email.

* The location is very good.
* The owner went out of his way to have our room ready by 12:00, when we were expected to arrive. He also called a cab to take me to the University.
* The breakfast was simple, but good.
* IMO, almost by definition, a boutique hotel is much more pleasant to stay at than any large hotel.
* At Steenhof Suites (where we normally stay, but which was sold out) we have more space, typically for comparable (or slightly higher) prices.
* The room was smallish, the bed was not very comfortable, and there was a mini fridge, but only for and with wine.
* The stairs were very narrow, which was a problem for my wife as she has hip protheses.
* Most problematic was the loud noise from the street until well after 3:00 AM.

Location is perfect and the rooms are very nice.
That said, the walls are extremely thin and the doors very loud. We slept there for two night but came out more tired than we went in due to constant slamming of doors, whispers in the hallway, sneezes and the alarm of our neighbor. Obviously part of this is out of the control of the hotel, but nevertheless: you have to be lucky to get a good night's rest.

the bed was fantastic. very wide and comfortable
the STAIRS! No mention was made on their website about the steepness of the stairs - almost vertical
I constantly worried about how we would get out if there was a fire. no fire escape - wouldnât be allowed in UK.
the bed, though comfortable, was pushed against one wall, which meant one of us had to climb over the other to get into bed. felt very claustrophobic as the ceiling sloped. no full length mirror or drawer space to put underwear
I wouldnât call this a hotel - more rooms to let. our friends were in a totally different building two doors down. No lounge bar to meet for pre dinner drinks, as I would expect in an hotel.

The room on the first floor was light, spacious and well-equipped with everything functioning. Charming traditional building in Pieterskerk area. Classical music at breakfast.
All good. Be aware that the stairs are steep and narrow.

Very beautiful location and very nicely restored rooms in a great location. Host was also very friendly and everything arranged as described.
We knew very well that it's an old building so to expect the small steep stairs, but it was also quite cold. So turning the heat up a lot was required. The provided heating options did very well, so not a big problem, but reduced the conformt a bit.
