Beautiful, brand new two person studio cottage, with a full kitchen, inspiring picture window views of Griffin bay and beyond. Comfortable queen bed. Sitting area has gorgeous water view. The lagoon at the bottom of our yard has marvelous bird activity.
This property is on the water; you can step onto the shore. Private garden, entrance and parking. This location is close to town, yet peaceful and surrounded by nature.
The lagoon provides wonderful bird watching opportunities and the sunny south facing site is truly enjoyable.

This was our first time to San Juan Island and we couldn't have been more pleased with our lovely accommodations. It was exactly what we wanted for our vacation. The landscaping around the cottage was beautiful and created a private outdoor patio. Even though we were a short 15 minute walk to town it was dark and quiet enough to keep the large picture windows open at night. It was clean and well laid out. We absolutely would want to stay here again for any future San Juan visits. Thank you to our kind hosts!

My husband and I stayed at the "Shaqteau" at Friday Harbor we were very happy with loction, super close to town! The cottage was very charming and perfect for our stay...the hosts were very friendly and we enjoyed meeting them...nice spot to relax on the water and enjoy the view...we highly recommend this cottage and would love to stay there again!!

Property was quaint, peaceful, clean and well kept. We were there for a wedding in Friday Harbor at the Saltwater Farm. We had a great stay and plan to return again when we have more time to explore the neighborhood. Thank you for sharing your place with us.

Amazing place to stay on San Juan! The studio is designed so well and feels very spacious. It is close enough to Friday harbor for restaurants or grocery stores (you can walk) but far enough away for peace and quiet. It was so easy to explore the island and then come "home" and enjoy the view from the large window, or on the chairs at the end of the garden beside the water. Jim was so welcoming and gave us great ideas. We will definitely be back.

I loved my stay at the cottage . The home was clean and in like new condition. It was nicely appointed and had everything you could want . The yard was unbelievable , it’s on the water and has a gorgeous sitting area next to the water , as well as a nice sting area in front of the home . It was very quiet , I slept like a baby . It’s also an easy walk to town . The communication with the owner was excellent. We will definitely be staying here anytime we visit San Juan island.

My fiance and I absolutely loved our stay at Jim's place. We spent the beginning of our vacation here and by the time check-out rolled around, I wished we could stay the whole trip. The area is beautiful. The cottage is cozy with so many cute, charming details. The seating area in front of the big picture window was my favorite part; I could read and watch hummingbirds feed in the garden outside. Jim and his wife were so welcoming and friendly. We're recommending this delightful cottage to all our family and friends who visit the area, and I hope we can make it back someday! Thanks for everything!

What an amazing and comfy little cabin! With a view of and access to the water, Adirondack chairs by the beach, kayak launch area, and lovely yard and garden patio, I hardly needed to go anywhere. I would have stayed twice as long if I could have. The hosts were helpful and kind and so welcoming! Thanks for everything!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay in this cozy cabin. It was just the right size for the two of us. Clean and well stocked. The kitchen area had all the necessities for meal preparation. The view toward the bay was amazing. We even had the good fortune of seeing an eagle atop a tall tree on the property near the water. It was perched there for 15 minutes.

My husband and I wanted to get away for our 29th wedding anniversary so we went to Friday Harbor and stayed at this cute cabin. Check in was a breeze, the hosts were very friendly, and the cabin itself was very clean and had all of the amenities one could want! The chairs by the water were so comfy even though it was a bit cold. It was very relaxing! We will be back!

Beautiful spot with a view of the water. James was great, very unobtrusive, but available with good advice. Location is very close to Friday Harbor, but well enough away from the main streets and ferry terminal. We plan on returning to the cottage when we visit next. Several reported spotting of Orcas and Humpback whales from Jackson beach nearby while we were there.

The pictures do not do this place justice. It is the cutest space with great views. It is very comfortable. The location is great, nice and close to town. That was best part we could sleep in and still get a full days worth because everything is so convenient.

Our stay was extra enjoyable because of the ability to the bay. The cottage, and the back yard were very homey. There were binoculars to borrow which came in handy to look at the Orcas! The place was very clean and the coffee was appreciated. James welcomed us and provided a map with recommendations.

Only minutes from anywhere we were drawn to visit, dine, sail or immerse in the nature and history of San Juan Island, Jame's place was magical. He and his wife have taken the care to create a contemporary, private (and full kitchen-ed!) retreat. The floor plan extended into a cozy sitting area with an expansive picture window view of their lushly planted gardens. The gardens were just a short stroll from their sheltered beach where we were able to take in low and high tide flora and fauna. We had all the comforts and conveniences of home and a charming patio where we could enjoy a bottle of wine and the nature that surrounded us. It was hard to venture out!

What a stunning spot. My son and I come the island annually for a pre-school summer send-off, and this rental is by far our favorite! It’s beautifully built, feels cozy and homey, shockingly clean, and has all the amenities anyone would need. The beach access was a highlight for us, picking perfectly ripe blackberries on the short walk to the water’s edge. I almost don’t want anyone else to know about this secluded-yet-close-to-town gem on SJI so I can make sure to book it every year… Really, if you’re on the fence about a place to stay, this one is it.
