Guests enjoyed kayaking, bonfires, comfortable rooms, beautiful views, and excellent service. Unplugged from technology, perfect for relaxing and nature watching.

We had a great stay. However, we did not know it was so rocky and no beach area. Plus, we could not dock our boat @ the camp it was so shallow. The floors needed a good mopping. Everything else about the camp was wonderful and we had a great time.

as my daughter says ," I dont go to a cabin for a 5star clean"- yes the cabin was cleaned, however many cob webs, the cookware was dicey, house had musty smell, kitchen window was covered w cardboard & duck taped. The best was the mushrooms growing from the ceiling in kitchen, which I only was aware of untill last day, I would have reported to realtor..Shower was a bit moldy. The best part of rental was it was on the water, had a dock
& canoe. Big TV was a bonus, was able to stream a Yankees!! We looked into the cost to rent next year & see it would be almost double$$. we paid $2300+-...thats reasonable for what this cabin is, any more would be ridiculous..

Very cute rustic camp in a nice location with a lovely porch/view. The home could use a bit of TLC and some added kitchen items (no measuring cups, limited/very old cookware, nasty/moldy potholders/dish towels).

My family and I had an amazing vacation. We left only 2x for a quick trip to the town store. Absolutely recommend.
5.0 / 5.0
Our summer vacation was spent kayaking, walking, talking, playing games, bonfires and taking short trips to town to small town grocery stores that also serve as places to get gas and a breakfast sandwich. Mooselookmeguntic Lake is not filled with jet skis or fast motor boats, the week I was there (last week in July), the fishing boats were out early in the morning and back by mid-morning. The loons would call early, the ducks conducted their business throughout the day, and the eagles flew from tree to tree looking for fish.
This home is right on the water, falling asleep was easy with water lapping at the shore. The area is beautiful, with wild blueberries growing at the shore and across the road. The home is comfortable, the kitchen roomy, the livingroom has enough seating and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom is small, but it was fine for us for the week (7 women). The property was overall clean, the parking area held 3 cars comfortably.

We had a great time. Nice porch and dock to sit on. Comfortable sleeping quarters. Small bathroom but got the job done. Plenty of kitchen area to prep and cook.

Even before we arrived at the property, the folks at Morton & Furbish set themselves apart from excellent service. We were admittedly booking late, and they had an excellent selection of properties available. When a last minute scheduling change meant that the property we had originally booked was no longer an option for our getaway, the lovely folks at M&F reached out immediately and we had a new location booked by the end of the day--the team was attentive to our group's needs, and asked what we liked about the original property to ensure we ended up somewhere beautiful and perfect for this trip--and right on target for our budget. Their constant communication really made the trip a breeze, and the Kadel property itself was a delight. We couldn't ask for a better spot for late-night stargazing, taking a hike at Bald Mountain followed by a dip in the lake, or just sipping a drink while listening to loon song on the incredible porch. A perfect visit!

Absolutely gorgeous house and property
House and property were fantastic, beautiful dock and swim platform. Small beach area but we made the most of it. I would absolutely return. The town of Rangeley has plenty of things to do. Boating, atving were awesome.

Rustic and quiet
This was our second stay at Kadel Camp. 4 of us stayed there very comfortably for 3 days. Cooked all meals in the well equipped kitchen; enjoyed the porch and the dock; and paddled the canoe along the rocky shoreline. It was very clean and we would return to stay again.

Lovely location.
A great property with a beautiful view of Mooselookmeguntic Lake. Visitors should be prepared for the possibility of no internet and no cell service. We loved being off the grid for a few days, but be sure that the land line is working when you arrive.

Nostalgia
We had a great stay! My grandfather actually built this and was in our family until it was sold when I was about 11 years old. Was my first time back in 33 years and it was defiantly a blast from the past. Everything was clean, tidy, and the office staff is extremely easy to contact (7 days/wk). I was extremely happy to be able to share the experience I had as a child, with my own children and husband. Thank you!

Loved the closeness of the sleeping arrangements/ spider hole
I will give 3 stars. For the view, for the close sleeping arrangements with kids, for the quiet spot. The house is not maintained outside. The spiders were running the roost, huge , and I'm a Maine girl, I know about lake spiders. We killed about 20 the size of a small apple on the front porch just so we could be out there at night without them dangling down and freaking everyone out the way they did night 1. After that it was just the daddy long legs that scurried into the door when opened . I've never seen so many different spiders in one place. The good side of that? No flies ! Lol so ya this is just from no one wiping away all the nests all over the outside of the house which is easy to do weekly to avoid this issue. there was also a massive tree branch on the roof and just general poor outdoor maintenance on the property. But the inside was cozy and I liked all the exposed beams and the closeness of the rooms again was a big hit. THE ROCKS ARE GIANT BOULDERS which makes for difficult swimming with kids, like we couldn't do it until we found a rock sand bar directly straight out in front of the camp via canoe and parked there to swim which was actually fun because it gave us an adventure every day to swim we had to paddle for 10/15 minutes. So we never stay anyplace twice so I won't say I'd stay here again, but I think with more outdoor maintenance it's worth it, but if you have anyone who can't canoe to a swim spot or needs an easy swim spot this isn't the place for you.

Lovely lakefront!
We had a wonderful stay here. Enjoyed the porch and the dock very much. Lake level low this y ear so not so great for swimming because the rocks are tricky to navigate but did manage a couple dips! Loved watching the kingfisher, bald eagles, ducks, loons, hummingbirds, and even an otter. A lovely, relaxing place for vacation. Completely unplugged!! (No wifi and very spotty cell service.) Nice size kitchen.

Great old time cabin
Nice older cabin in great shape. The only issue was low lake water levels making boating and docking a little tough.

Great Getaway
The staff of Morton and Furbish were amazing and always had our back in making sure our stay was happy, comfortable and memorable. There were a few issues we think you might want to be aware.
1-Lamps required some sort of maintenance as they needed to be jiggled to stay on. Could be an electrical safety concern.
2-The possible asbestos electrical cable in the dishes cabinet (should be looked at)
Overall the stay at the Kadels was awesome and looking forward to coming back to stay there again in the future.

great place
Great Maine lake camp experience. Wonderful views especially from the dock. Lots of pine on the inside. Not a lot of privacy for larger groups

Kadel
The cottage was in a nice location, though towards the end of the week several college students rented the house next to ours so it was far less peaceful. It's definitely rustic, which I like, however, the furniture could use a cleaning or upgrade. The fireplace was great. Rainy days are great, but if you're not tempted to sit on the furniture because of its condition, they're not as nice. The dock is nice and the swimming fantastic.

The camp is lovely, the location is good, the porch is great. It is a wonderful camp badly in need of some TLC. The shower stall needs replacing (good hot water though), the kitchen cabinets need a good dose of Murphy's oil soap and there are a couple of chairs I would not ever sit in. Even the oars and paddles are in need of replacement. It has a ton of potential but needs effort. Two final things: the lack of an outdoor fire pit is distressing; some may be put off by the lack of full walls in the bedrooms.Don't get me wrong, it was a wonderful time and we'd go back. Please take the critique constructively.

Want to stay in a REAL Maine Cabin? This is the one!
My husband and I stayed at Kadel with our canine kids, Angus and Oliver. The cabin was perfect and charming. The boys had a good time and played with the neighbors dog, a lot. We were really happy to stay in an authentic Maine cabin.
There was no shortage of lobster as you could get some off a truck in downtown Rangeley. The kitchen was well equipped for seafood and grilling. The cabin had a canoe which was an added bonus. We could go swimming off the dock once we purchased some water shoes locally, it was really nice. My favorite parts of the cabin was the dock, the porch and the kitchen. The living room has a beautiful view of the lake and comfortable furniture.
We both work city jobs and the fact that the area has very limited or no cell and internet service forced us to do nothing but relax. We liked our stay very much and plan to return to one of Morton & Furbish's cabins again.
So, if you want rustic Maine cabin with amenities, if you want to unplug from technology, this is a good one to stay at.

Simple, Clean, Fun
This was the ideal vacation rental for three fishermen. Perfectly situated on the shore of the lake, away from the road, with all necessary amenities. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well equipped. Dock is well suited for small boats. Property managers are very helpful. I'd go back here again for sure.

Quaint camp
We enjoyed our stay at the Kadel camp. The swimming was good except for the rocks. It was quiet and peaceful - saw loons, red squirrels, and ducks. Kitchen table was great for puzzles. Awesome fireplace. Another great stay in Rangeley.

Rangely Vacation
Our week staying at the Kadel cabin was nothing but pleasant. Cabin is located on a beautiful cove. July 4th celebration in Rangeley is always fun with excellent fireworks. Cabin is as advertised and use of the canoe is an added bonus.

Always an excellent stay
The camp is beautiful we were very happy with it year after year. Plenty of amenities. Only thing missing would be Wi-Fi as a mountain blocks 95% of a phone signal.

Wonderful Vacation
Our family had a wonderful stay at Kadel - we were in Maine for a family reunion and couldn't have asked for a better spot for a vacation. The views from the dock were amazing. The cabin was lovely, and we truly enjoyed the large kitchen - we cooked some wonderful breakfasts and dinners for our large crowd and had plenty of room. Thanks for a great week!

Nice Lakefront Cabin
This is a nice lakefront cabin, with a dock that we were able to catch some small catch & release fish from. The neighbors to the right have a dog that they do not keep leashed, and he thinks bobbers are tennis balls he should fetch, so keep an eye out for him. For entertainment inside on rainy days, there are several books provided, a few board games & decks of cards, and a DVD player - bring your own movies. We did not have cell phone or internet service on our phones in the cabin, but there is a landline for local calls and Dish TV if you want to watch television. The back porch is covered, which was fantastic for rainy days.
The rooms are on the small side but can accommodate 8 people. It's worth noting that the walls do not go up to the ceiling, and do not have doors, only curtains to pull across. We were traveling as a family of 5 so it wasn't an issue, but if you were traveling with friends or other couples, it's something you'd need to know ahead of time.
We had some minor housekeeping issues but left a note on the comment card so hopefully, those will be taken care of for future guests. We suggest bringing camping chairs for outdoor use, the furniture could use some updating. We brought most of the kitchen supplies we needed but had to pick up a baking sheet, pot holders, and a few other supplies in town - most everything else (pots, pans, skillets) was already in the cabin.
The views from the cabin are spectacular, and it is located in Bugle Cove which was very quiet, even over the Fourth of July holiday week. There were a handful of places to eat right in the village of Oquossoc, which is about 10 minutes from the cabin, and the food was delicious at each one we visited. Rangeley is about 20 minutes away, has an IGA grocery store with very reasonable prices on most items we purchased, and a nice & clean laundry mat that we also visited ($2 per load to wash, $0.25 per 6 minutes of drying time). There is an abundance of trails to hike and places to explore in the area, the scenic overlooks provide phenomenal views.

Kadel on mooselookmeguntic
This was an amazing old charm camp. We rented it for a Bachelor party for my friend. We were all in love with the camp and it reminded us of our younger days. It was a true " camp" with great feelings. The porch overlooking the lake was awesome. So peaceful and quiet. It was a great time and a great camp. I would def rent it again. There were only two things I wish were better. Some of the beds need to be updated for better comfort. I know it's just a camp but it would make a huge difference. I also wish it wasnt so rocky out front so swimming could be easier. All in all, a great place to unwind and relax!!

Sweet and comfortable, but not great for swimming
This sweet and comfortable cabin was a perfect fit for a family vacation of 2 adult couples, 2 kids, and one grandparent. Rustic in character, but plenty of amenities like a hot shower and a drilled well to keep everyone happy. Sleeping arrangements were very comfortable, kitchen was completely adequate for cooking projects, lots of hanging out space for rainy days, and the porch was perfect for meals and reading. The dock has a lovely view, and is great for lounging, reading, and sunning. Quite a unique spot on the lake - tucked into a little cove where it is protected from big waves, and great southern exposure. We loved it!
The water was very low when we were here, and the only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that the water access was pretty tough for kids. The area surrounding the dock is very rocky, and trying to swim out to deeper water resulted in lots of scraped knees and toes. We even had to pick a careful course to get a canoe out on the water. Probably better when the water is much higher, but still not a good choice for little kids or inexperienced swimmers.
Despite that, we had a wonderful time, and wish that this lovely cabin could be transported to a spot with either a beach, or deeper water where you could jump off the dock!
