The room was huge and spacious and the bed very very comfortable.
I had phoned ahead to notify the hotelier of my expected time of arrival and I was met by a very friendly and welcoming lady. I don't think they usually have a full time staffed reception, so this was a nice and good personal touch.
I can't fault it for anything. The location wasn't as central as I had hoped but I knew that on booking, and was fine with the as directed by the lovely lady walk which did indeed take only 10 minutes.

Good staff and great recommendation for an evening meal. Great location to town centre.
Poor water pressure in shower but there is a notice about the old plumbing. Awkward to find car park on arrival but easy when you have found it the first time.

I liked how it was near the train station and park . The staff was nice .
There wasn’t any shower gel so I had to buy some and tv remote wasn’t working well , the shower was confusing to use.

The location was close to the venue for my evening entertainment. Off road parking.
The room was COLD - 7c outside & 7c in the room. Radiator was not working. Heating was by a fan heater only. The windows (old sash style) did not fully shut so cold draft all the time. On-suite had no heating & the size of a wardrobe.

We’ve been before and find it reliable and absolutely what we want, plus the reception is always pleasant.

Bed was comfy enough, close to town, private parking which is good.
If you want a shower don't stay in room 7 as the pull thing on the tap doesn't stay on.
I had to kick the main door for it to open in the morning as something was really tight so it wouldn't open with a normal push.

The price on this particular day compared to where we usually stay when visiting
Scalding water. Tired unloved and in need of an overhaul

Good big room lovely staff

Bed was clean , room was warm , good car parking facilities. Very quiet for sleeping throughout our stay.
Room was very dated , curtains partially threadbare and torn , mattress was hard , needed " muscles " like Popeye to move very heavy Quilt.
Bath panel was cracked and broken ,could easily cause injury to leg if not aware of break. Wash basin had been patched after what must have been an earlier incident that had damaged and cracked the basin..
Glass shelf over basin not very secure and inclined towards you causing items to fall off. Hot water supply to basin took a VERY LONG time to come through to basin.
No glasses in room for water etc.. .
Flowers in reception area partially dead .,......not very welcoming

Convenient location for our work trip. The staff were friendly. They recommended an absolutely wonderful pub down the road for food. It was quirky. Mismatched furniture but it served a purpose.
It was noisy. I could hear people wondering around the corridors, slamming doors, stomping up and down the stairs at all hours of the night. The walls are very thin. There were bulbs in my room which didn’t work, the shower was barely a trickle and was either scalding or ice, the drain was blocked so within seconds it would start to overflow. I met one member of staff at check in and then didn’t see anyone again until I called for replacement towels one night. (the ones I’d left to be exchanged had been hung back up and were soaking wet, despite leaving them on the shower tray as per their instructions for new towels…)

Good sized rooms, free parking and friendly staff.
No replacement for things like toilet roll and tea/coffee when they ran out. I’m sure staff would have replaced but we didn’t see much of the staff, only once or twice during our stay.

well located , good parking , large room and good wifi. We were greeted by a friendly knowledgeable girl but didn’t see anyone else during our stay.
The bed was comfortable.
A bit run down but good value. The lighting was very dim and bedside light didn’t work.
The shower was extremely difficult to use and dangerously hot. Almost unusable. We ended up using the bath.

Very comfortable beds and very good cleanliness standard. Two small flaws poor reception on TV and difficulty flushing the toilet. Neither issue was serious enough to spoil a nice in a comftable room. Very good value for money

Basic but clean accommodation at a good price with friendly staff.
Just outside my room window was a rooftop designated as a smoking area. This meant I couldn't open the window or curtains and it was noisy until late.

Everything was clean and fresh
Quiet location with a big park to walk around

Location was excellent as it was very near the canal and not far from the town centre. No breakfast available at the hotel but not far away was a very good restaurant.
