Your quick responses have been appreciative and overall experience has been ok.
I understand the house itself is over 100 so things are limited.
1. The "bedroom" that is a sun room needs addressed on the ad. Had all the families actually came thru and stayed at location it wouldn't have worked, as no one could have stayed in that room.
2. The ac issue for 2nd floor, was taken care of quickly.. thank you
3. There was soiled linen and blood on a pillow.
4. Allergies could be an issue with the dust built up around the house (under beds, on table legs, fixtures and between rails on stairs).
4. My biggest issue, was the workers entering house with no notice. Just like any other rental I should have received notice that house was being entered.

Overall property was pleasant, clean, and in a good location.
There were overgrown weeds, and minor repairs needed throughout the home. Some of the bed sheets were stained.

The house itself was really cool and unique
However it just seemed many things are very “unkept”
The yard needed mowed, weeds have taken over around the entire place presenting poor curb appeal.
Animals and birds living in eave spaces, large holes in side of house and 4’ piece of molding missing
Probably around 20 lightbulbs are out
Electrical wiring exposed with no switch plate covers.
Downstairs thermostat was intermittent- shorting out
The Fire pit and wood was much appreciated but the lawn furniture was filthy
The front foyer between doors was full of old mail fliers and leaves and dirty
The front porch was dirty with debris and dirt.
My best term I could use is just the property in general is UNKEPT.
We enjoyed our stay in an old Victorian house but it was no where near, worth the money spent for two nights.
I would not rent it again, nor recommend it until some things are taken care of.

The place was very nice and had everything we needed. I wouldn't take a toddler, as there was a lot of breakable stuff in the house and some very perilous staircases, but other than that it was perfect for us.

This house is a little quirky, but overall worked for our needs. The location was perfect, bedrooms were not. There were a lot of beds, but not all were comfortable. One bedroom is a walkway to the 3rd floor bedrooms, another sleeping area is a screen porch (with glass coverings), and the 3rd floor bedroom has a bathroom that is sort of open to the sleeping area. Everything worked in the house, but just older and full of interesting collections of different things.

Charming
Loved the decor of this Old Charm house. First level parlors gave plenty of room to socialize. Clean with modern kitchen. Beautiful dining room. Plenty of room to spread out with various sleeping areas on second the third floors. Great to have a backyard. All rooms adequately airconditioned except sunroom which was hot and had two windows that did not fully close. Need lock fixed on second floor bathroom. Front of house looked "tired." Needs painting and front lawn upkeep. This house suited our needs and everyone liked it!

Good place for a big group.
The manager was reachable at any time of the night when we had issues. Good quete neighbourhood. We only had a few issues some rooms were so cold not warming up even with the heater on. On the second day there was no hot water but the home owner was so prompt in fixing it. Lots of open space, it was a beautiful home. The home owner was very kind and respectful. I would recommend someone to rent the home and I would go back there again.

Review of summer stay in Mishawaka
This is a lovely old home. The major problem is no air condition on the second floor where most bedrooms are. It was a hot weekend with temps in the nineties but even with both a/c units on third floor and first floor blasting we could not get the second floor remotely cool or comfortable . It would help if they put in black out shades instead of just curtains and kept fans available . Otherwise it’s well equipped and comfortable for an old home . Beds were comfortable . Had enough hot water and water pressure . Oddly there was no cutting board or larger knife to cut a watermelon in the kitchen which would be easy to add. We looked everywhere. We had 7 adults and two toddlers . The sunroom was completely unusable it had to be at least 100 degrees in there so we kept it closed . For perspective I am a tiny 105 pound woman who is almost always cold and highly heat tolerant. I’d say this would be a great place to rent in the cooler months but cannot recommend in the summer for the above reasons. Also it’s notable that in order to access the large and comfortable attic you must walk through another bedroom , so if your group expects more private arrangements that could be an issue . It was not an issue for our family . I hope this helps future renters and perhaps the owners can improve the cooling issues .

On the Keeper's list!
This was a great experience. The house is beautiful. The owner made himself available if we needed him, and responded promptly when we needed to communicate. We needed to extend our stay and he was most accommodating. Definitely a great stay!

We were an extended family of 10 persons (teenagers through 80 year old grandparents) who stayed in this home for Thanksgiving week. It is a beautiful old home and the pictures are accurate. What the pictures don't tell you, however, is how the rooms are laid out. Of the rooms on the 2nd floor with queen beds, only one of those is private. In order to access the large room on the 3rd floor with the 3 beds (and with the only other full bath which I will get to later), you have to walk through the only other room with a queen bed. The bathroom on the 2nd floor is a nice full bath with tub/shower. Unfortunately we had only luke warm water for the first several days of our stay. We mentioned this several times to the "handyman" (whom we got to know quite well) and finally, after we figured out that it was due to a setting on the temperature control in the tub and not due to the hot water heater (which stopped working twice), we insisted that the temperature be increased. (By this time several in our group had resorted to sponge baths out of the sink). (Turns out they had set the "anti-scald" setting on the tub too low). Regarding the full bath on the 3rd floor, it is actually a bathroom that was built in to a dormer off the large attic bedroom. It is completely open in to the room, although the owner has put a screen up that provides some privacy for sight. Of course the sounds and smells still flow freely into the bedroom. It is only realistic for the persons staying in this room to use this bathroom (3-4 persons), which means that everyone else uses the 2nd floor bathroom. Upon our arrival, we were unable to figure out how to turn on the lights in one of the rooms on the 2nd floor and in the bathroom on the 3rd floor. The handyman came right over and assessed the situation. He was unable to fix the light/fan in the bedroom so gave us a 2nd table lamp to use. Regarding the lights in the 3rd floor bathroom, he said "we haven't gotten these to work". He then went and got a lamp with an extension cord to use in that bathroom. The kitchen is modern with some appliances. Ask what is there before you go. They have a whole cupboard of vases and a draw full of wooden spoons, but lack a decent frying pan.The house is drafty and we had some nights we were quite cold. It is in a reasonably nice neighborhood with great walking paths, but quite noisy at night with all the traffic. The manager is easy to work with. Unfortunately we had to call him a lot.

Older house with good bones but not fully renovated yet
Close to ND. Older home with newly renovated kitchen. Really only one shower because one bathroom not very private. Only one HDTV and it only had 5-6 channels, not including ESPN + other sports channels. Plenty of comfortable beds, but a few awkward settings, like sun porch and third floor stairs in another bedroom. Overall we enjoyed the short stay. but not up to our other VRBO rentals at this cost.
