Great hotel, would recommend for a short stay!
Very friendly staff who bought us tea when they realised we didn’t drink coffee. We loved the modern feel of the rooms. The bathroom and toilet were brilliant!
Unusual to have breakfast delivered to your room.

A fabulous place to stay in Kyoto! Perfect for location, people, amenities, comfort... WILL RETURN!
This little hotel blew us away, the minute we stepped in and we were met with kindness and enthusiasm from Ryo. My sister and I have traveled extensively and it takes a lot for us to have our expectations exceeded both in facilities and service. This room was truly such an amazing value. The people & service: Ryo and Yohei (spelling?) were so incredibly kind and helpful, providing suggestions, organizing the takkyubin services for us, and they both exuded a genuine care for our wellbeing. We were provided complimentary beverages upon our arrival, and they were consistently available to answer any questions we had. The room was always refreshed, with all the amenities and we truly appreciated returning back "home" to our room after a day of adventuring. The room: What a beautiful place for us to call our home for 8 days! We got a room with two full beds which was perfect for my sister and me. There was a nice "living room" area with a small couch and coffee table, plus a kitchenette which was equipped with a Balmuda toaster oven/microwave, mini fridge, coffee/tea setup, and sink. Down the hallway (seriously!) was the bathroom which was very large with two sinks, a nice shower, and a large hot tub; the toilet was located in its own room which was very convenient. Also, the toilet room always played classical music when you lifted the lid which was a pleasant touch ;) The bathroom was fully stocked with luxury brand soaps, that were replenished. They offered the softest Jinbei (Japanese pjs) - we ended up buying a set upon departure because we liked them so much! The location: This hotel was in the perfect spot - just far enough outside the "touristy main areas" which provided wonderful walks every day. It was centrally located near bus and train stations, a quick walk to Pontocho, Gion, Nishiki Market, Terramachi Street Shops, and all the multi-floor malls.
I really can't think of anything. This particular room oddly didn't have a closet, so perhaps a closet space (we only had a few hangers) would have been the cherry on top; there was sufficient space to tuck our suitcases in the corner.

Exceptional boutique hotel. Loved it.
Beautiful gem of a hotel - we felt very spoiled - a perfect set up for a family as there was a large main bed and two futon beds on a tatami platform behind shoji screens allowing for privacy for our family. The bathroom was spectacular, with a jacuzzi tub, huge rain shower, double sink and loads of fun amenities/products including luxury skincare. Sleepwear was also provided. The kitchen was gorgeous. Even the toilet played music…The gentleman at the front desk was delightful and also responded to texts promptly. Free breakfast of gourmet hot dogs and coffee was a nice touch - very tasty too. Location also great as a short walk to the main shopping area and Nishiki market etc.
Very minor - the bottled water was very cool but from Spain which can’t be very eco-friendly. Also, I wish there were more hooks/rails for towels in the bathroom. The timing options of the breakfast could have been a bit more flexible (eg earlier) but this is a minor quibble.

A hotel to remember
Outright the best small hotel I've ever stayed at. We stayed at the suite and it was so spacious. The hotel room was high tech, from its door mechanism to its toilet that opens up as you open the door and auto flushes. The bathroom was spacious with a couple sink and complete with a jacuzzi to help re-energize you after long days sightseeing around Kyoto. The location of Hotel Muso is also very central, with Nishiki Market and Gion being a few blocks away, 7-Eleven across the street and lots and lots of local eateries around the hotel. Cannot recommend this hotel enough and will definitely book this hotel on our next visit to Kyoto.
Nothing, everything was amazing.
