Great location, very quiet, surprisingly so!

Didn’t do breakfast
Very nice old pub although means steep stairs.
Unfortunately a pipe burst in the bathroom which curtailed my bath.

It is a delightful pub. Very quaint and typically English. The room was exactly what I expected in terms of it being oldie worldie. The barman on my first two nights was absolutely delightful and a credit to the pub.
A couple of problems:
The shower control needs fixing. It is lethal as the temperature of the water is so hot and it is extremely difficult to adjust to the right temperature. Thankfully I didn't get into the shower before struggling to make the adjustment as I would have been burnt.
I fully accept that this is a pub and therefore the noise levels would be high. Unfortunately, my room was directly above the lounge area so noise was high after 11 pm, and particularly lasted until 01:30 am on my last night (a Friday). I was surprised by that as the website says bar closing is 11 pm.
The barman on my last night was okay but not terribly friendly and I did find the landlady pleasant but it would have been lovely if she had checked with me to ask whether I had found everything okay with the room etc.

One night stay to see family. Very nice welcome from staff. Spacious, clean and comfortable room. Easy to find and a stones throw to the centre of Henley. Didn’t use the pub but my son visited the next day and was most impressed.
The night light to the bathroom was quite bright (for obvious reasons). It disturbed my sleep somewhat but not a massive issue.

Good location
The pub’s clientele made me uncomfortable

It’s a great traditional English pub. Comfortable room, friendly staff, excellent food.
Need to be careful about check-in timing midweek because the pub is closed 3 until 5 Monday to Thursday.

Very warm welcome on arrival. Room was pretty much as expected.
No remote for the TV in the room.

Close to local amenities, easy to find, clean, comfortable bed.
It is not made for tall people. It was a lovely stay but if you are 5 ft 10 and over, you may struggle to not hit your head on the doors and ceilings. Obviously, there is nothing the landlord could do about this!

It was a very quiet room and very comfy bed. So great sleep and clean
No shower but can see that would be tricky as sloping roofline in bathroom. I am tall so had to duck for shaving etc in low mirror.

Bar staff very friendly and helpful. (Milly and Henry)
Food in bar was good.
Good size bathroom with proper bath and plenty of hot water.
No pillowcases - but I should have followed that up.
There was a one-off maintenance job going on at a roof opposite our window . They were loud and started early !!

Large room and location
Parking could be a problem but we were lucky

Easily accessible. Simple, comfortable accommodation for an overnight stay - very comfy bed and lovely, large fluffy towels!
Not easy to get to the mirror in the bedroom and the pendant light kept getting in the way!
As easily accessible plug would be nice for phone charging/ hair styling

Quaintness

The bar seemed nice and the garden was quite good.
We didn't realise they only had four bedrooms and we were allocated the attic room. Not the best for two elderly people who struggled up the last flight of stairs. Glad we didn't need our suitcases. No where to park close by. The price of a glass of wine £10 could have bought two bottles for that.

Very comfortable, quiet and clean .Good value for money .

very quirky, very windy stairs though
spoiled by scaffolding at front and because of work they weren’t doing evening meals , couldn’t really be helped

The shower was good.
There was no soap. The tea/ coffee / sugar/ milk wasn’t replaced.

Amazing staff, room a great size, nice quiet street even though its in the town.
No parking is available at the pub, but there is a car park less than 5 mins away.

No breakfast provided. Delightful small pub with only 4 rooms but cosy and comfortable.
2.5 / 5.0
The stairs to get to the room are very hogh with a very low ceiling so it can be hard to get up or down, especially if you have a bulky or heavy luggage. The room itself was cold the first night because the heater was off. The wall plugs next to the bed weren’t working and the curtains were ripped on the top, so there was quite some light coming into the room. Finally, after midnight the pub closes so you have to enter through the back door with is on an extremely dark and long alley.

good location just up the road from the Main Street. comfortable bed
Room was clean but the stairs need a good clean. The 10am check out is ridiculous so not a place to relax at the weekend- check in is 17:00!!

Central Henley - just a few metres up from the market place. Lovely old pub - friendly, cosy, clean. Very pleasant landlord who was very accommodating when we arrived back late and spent some time in the bar. We had the king size room - big room, lovely modern rustic kind of decor in character with the building, and the most comfortable bed - didn’t want to get up! What a find at the price! Loved it. Will definitely stay again.

Great location and very friendly staff inn a lovely, quirky little Olde Worlde pub. Nice shower.
Cooooold room which made it hard to sleep, which was not helped by the thinnest of duvets.. The furniture is higgledy-piggledy which could be charming in some cases but not in this one. Basically furnished on the cheap.
