When I arrived, the place was an oven probably around 86° and the AC in the living room did not work. A staff member was supposed to fix the remote and said he would be back in 10 minutes and never returned. The room unit in the bedroom Was too loud to sleep with and there are no windows In the bedrooms, only one small one in the bathroom across the hall. So I open the sliding door, even though it’s on the ground floor just to get some air, but the blinds cannot be opened. And the curtains in the living room can’t be opened either. There is no ice tray to get cold drinking water and overall it was a miserable sleepless night the description of the place way over states the amenities. I ended up moving to a hotel in town. I was there for my daughter’s graduation and did not appreciate having to deal with these issues, not sleep and having to move, not to mention having to spend more.

This property was very clean, comfortable and basic. Easy parking. We did not spent much time hanging around at home, we were out doing things most of the time so this property with its basic amenities was perfect for us. We mostly needed a relaxing space to sleep, shower, watch a little tv before bed, and make coffee in the morning. The mattresses and bed linens were very clean and comfortable. No central heat or air but the portable air conditioners in each bedroom were very effective at cooling the rooms quickly. I loved that the inside of the fridge and freezer were pristine and spotless. I found the wifi to be fast and easy to connect to. The furnishings in the photos don’t match the actual unit we were in, however the setup and the basic style of the property were for all intents and purposes the very much the same vibe and aesthetic. I thought the place was very cute and I would definitely return any time I need a comfy small space in a great location in Davis. For two bedrooms it was a great value.

The property looks to be a neighboring unit of the one pictured. Owner did not communicate about check in; I had to contact her twice before getting the info.
It was very cold and there were issues with the heater. I contacted the owner and was told to "empty the condensation in a cup and throw it out" which was not possible (see pics). Heating units were also incredibly noisy. We didn't have sufficient blankets or linens and borrowed from family in the area. This is not a "designer bungalow" and is not a bungalow at all, but rather, a converted garage. I did not recieve check out info, either, and gave up trying to communicate. What's more, the owner put extra charges on the bill, some of which were refunded at my request. I have filed a complaint with VRBO. I do not recommend this place.

We arrived at night as we had said we would, yet the house was completely dark, as were most of the houses nearby. We drove up and down the street 3 times and pulled into 2 driveways to try to see house numbers before we found the place. This was frustrating after a long drive in holiday traffic! When we entered the house it was 55 degrees inside. Not a great first impression. Luckily the beds had enough blankets to warm us up and were comfortable. The house was warmer in the morning but it does not have central heat, just a wall heater in the living room, so we had to leave doors open to keep the bedrooms warm. The kitchen has only the basics but it met our needs. We didn’t do much cooking. The place was clean and the location was good. Exterior lighting would be helpful.

The bungalow was a great place to stay for UC Davis parents weekend. The proximity to the school and downtown was perfect.

Wonderful location, close to everything and still quiet, easy. Stayed a few nights while son moved into UC Davis. Would definitely stay again!

This is a great stay in Davis, very walkable to downtown and campus. Clean and comfortable, everything is as advertised. There's no central AC so it gets a little warm but there are portable AC units that work very well. For the price, I don't think there's a better deal out there.

My son and I took 4 days to explore and enjoy Davis. We loved this cute cottage. The mulberry tree was blooming and fresh fruit by the front door was delicious. The cottage was perfectly located to walk everywhere. Everything was clean, comfortable, and easy. I would definitely stay here again.

I was extremely pleased with this property. It had everything we needed. The wine glasses, fresh towels, and cozy soft Costco blankets were appreciated. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends. Thank you!

Cute cozy cottage only blocks from town. Easy access for food and shopping and was a fun location. The beds are supurb! The couches are not the most loungable but there is plenty of seating options there and space for strange if needed.

We appreciate our host. Monica was 100% immediately responsive to our needs. Her little house has a lot of issues so a number of things needed to be fixed or improved while we were there which is why I couldn’t give it more than three stars. Once various other improvements are made I think it will be a nicer place to stay in Davis. The location is good, close to an excellent grocery store and within a 5 minute drive or a nice walk into downtown.

Our daughter who lives in Davis has been wanting to show us around. So we did a Thanksgiving in Davis with her, and the house was great, well stocked with towels and kitchen stuff. All we brought was a turkey pan. The little blue couch is a bit uncomfortable but there is the full size couch that is very comfortable. Each day we walked to downtown to eat and look around, lots of great food and shops. Parking is very easy in the neighborhood, covered and well lit.

Had a great stay, walked to shop for groceries, to town and to the Davis football game. Would definitely stay there again!

The owner has more properties and it may not be the one you get confirmation for at the time of making reservation. Our first email suggested unit number 534 and we got confirmation for 602 on the last day. The photos are not for the unit 602. The smoke detector went off on random hours and owner had it removed from the bedrooms to solve the issue right away. The laundry was another thing, it would easily get tripped or will have waterline turned off somehow. The house was not very clean especially the kitchen. Upon late arrival, we found the side-yard doors open, rooms were hot, and bed covering were not washed. Keep in mind, NO CENTRAL AC UNIT! Portable AC units were little loud and not evenly distributed air especially to the kitchen and bathroom. We hope that with our feedback in mind, owners will have someone check(or quality check) the home prior to each guest's arrival for readiness, leave enough towels, leave soaps/shampoo for single or per family. Especially after covid!

This is a great location in to get around town. The host was very responsive and provided a lot of helpful information to make the checkin/out and stay easy and comfortable. The house was a good size for an adult and two teens. Highly recommend!

This Mid Century Modern duplex has a wonderful location. Close to UC Davis, Downtown, everything! Furnishings are nice and beds are comfy. On-site parking is fabulous!! If it’s very hot, the room air conditioners work great, the one in the main area requires a little finesse-let it run all night to cool down the unit-then the temp won’t be unbearable in the afternoons. Be sure to turn off the air when using the hairdryer so the circuit doesn’t trip. Property management is very responsive to needs and requests-literally in just a couple of minutes! Understand the quirks and you’ll love this place!!

First things first-This is NOT a “bad review”. By giving this property 3 stars, I’m trying to convey that it is an adequate, if spartan, place to stay and a reasonable value given that it is on the lower end of the price range for Davis. And kudos to the owner/property manager, who was VERY responsive and patient the several times we had a need to contact him.
As to the property itself: Well-situated, in a quiet neighborhood about a mile from campus, and walking distance to the Co-op, an excellent grocery store. Driveway provides space enough for two cars, with one of them covered.
The interior is, as mentioned, spartan. The external walls are painted cinder blocks. The kitchen is adequate with a coffee maker and coffee and tea provided. The living room has a comfy couch and some chairs with a “smart” TV. There is a very small coffee table and no dining table or area.
The bedrooms are ok sized and the beds more or less comfortable. Both bedrooms have closets but not a lot of hangers, dressers, etc. One of the bedrooms smelled musty. The bedrooms have ceiling fans.
There is no central AC; The kitchen area has an anemic wall-mounted AC unit that wasn’t up to the challenge of 100-degree Davis summer weather. The bedrooms each had a portable unit vented to the outside which were powerful enough though noisy, and one of them not very well attached to the vent (see pic). Running a hair dryer with the ACs on tripped the circuit breaker.
The one bathroom and shower were fine.
There is a small outdoor area covered with gravel.
It was pretty clean when we arrived but there were some spider webs under the couch and the coffee pot had moldy grounds left in it from the prior guests (see pic).
All in all, if you are on a budget and don’t need luxury, this is an adequate place to stay.

Great Stay in Davis
This was a perfect place for us to stay while visiting my son for his graduation from law school! Very convenient location and the house was clean and tidy.

I stayed here for four days while visiting my daughter, a student at UC Davis. The location is perfect, a few blocks from downtown, the farmers market, and 15 minute walk to campus. And far enough from the train tracks that you don’t hear the noise, which can be a problem at other places I’ve stayed in town. I hope to be able to stay here again!
