About this house rental
***Property Overview***
Cayman Sands is an oceanfront villa in Old Man Bay along the north coast. This popular villa is one of only 2-3 homes that offer shore scuba diving off the famous Cayman Wall. With an open, one-story design, Cayman Sands offers guests an intimate experience across 4,000 sq ft. of living space, plus a one-bedroom guest cottage.
The main house features 4 bedroom suites (king, queen, 2 twin beds, and 4 bunk beds) with ensuite baths that have been completely re-tiled and renovated. For parties with more than 4 adult guests, the 2 twin beds can be converted to a king upon request. Both oceanfront suites have french doors that open up onto the screened pool atrium and sun deck. Cayman Sands was thoughtfully designed to be opened up on cool winter nights when A/C isn't necessary.
The oceanfront freshwater pool is protected by a screened atrium keeping local wildlife and insects at bay from ruining your stay. Optional pool heat is available in the winter months for an additional surcharge. The pool atrium comes furnished with a sectional sofa and dining table perfect for evening cocktails or outdoor dining.
The view of the large sandy beach is framed by the two wings of the house, an oceanfront gazebo, and two hammocks ideal for long afternoons relaxing with a book or simply enjoying the views.
An oceanfront vaulted great room floods the villa with natural light and stunning views through 30 feet of sliding glass doors. A recently upgraded kitchen offers all the modern appliances you would expect, as well as dishware, cookware, and cutlery. The living area is furnished with a wall-mounted flat-screen TV, plush couches, and a sleeper sofa for small children only.

***Beach Notes***
All beaches in Grand Cayman are technically public since the Queen owns up to the high watermark. Be advised, the beach or water entry behind your property may vary slightly from the images displayed due to weather. The next-door beach is also always available for your use.
***Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed***
Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally. Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency in recent years. Although sargassum is an unsightly nuisance, it is largely seasonal in summer. Our owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked prior to your arrival.
Should sargassum be extremely heavy behind your property, we will reach out to the owner for alternative solutions which may include a partial refund or relocation. We try our best to work around mother nature.

Our family of 13 ranging in age from almost 2 - 74 thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This was our first visit to Grand Cayman. Unfortunately, the weather was lousy for most of our week…cloudy and rainy…so the pool came in handy. The skies were cloudy, but we enjoyed walking the beach and collecting conch shells, and we ended days in the pool.
Tanya at check in was fantastic. She gave us restaurant recommendations which were excellent. Be sure to try Tim’s, the Falls Steakhouse, Ave on 7 mile beach, and Macabucu Tiki Bar. We did the Dolphin Discovery, Cayman Crystal Caves, swam with turtles at the Turtle Center, did the Bioluminescent Bay tour out of Rum Point, and did the Stingray City with Captain Marvin’s. All were amazing. All in all this was a wonderful Christmas/New Year’s vacation with our family. Highly recommend came in sands. The property is beautiful. My daughter, son-in-law, and their baby really enjoyed having the guesthouse which gave them their own private space. 5 stars!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We had a family of 7. Plenty of room! Great location! We were looking for something with less traffic/tourists, and we found everything we wanted here! Great location, and had easy access to the rest of the island! No complaints! 5 star experience throughout our stay!!

Best ever vacation
Completely satisfied! Beautiful beach beautiful house! The kids loved the swimming pool. We all loved the snorkeling experience. Had two or three bad experiences with Sea urchins, But we all learned fast. Would definitely like to come back in the future. Overall everyone was very happy. Plus there were many exciting things to experience on the island. Thank you very much for letting us stay in your beautiful beach house! The Ruders

Fantastic place for 11 family member stay. Definitely would do again!
No problems or surprises. Quiet location. Excellent house. Great time. Helpful support when needed

Almost heaven
The property and house are beautiful and very well equipped. I do wish I had known ahead that one cannot swim in the ocean because of the reef as that was part of the attraction. We were also not prepared for the washed up debris on the beach though I realize it is not totally in your control. It is really shocking !
The property manager was never seen and did not respond to any requests. Had to go above her for help. I wanted some contact from her.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay. The house was perfect for our occasion.

Summer Vacation - 2 families
Overall it's a great property and given the size of the Cayman's there really is no inconvenient place to be. We were close to the management office for use of gym and booking excursions. We were also convenient to restaurants and the Kaibo Yacht club for diving and snorkeling. The drive across the island to the West side for activities was only 45 minutes so that wasn't bad either.
Property was very clean and nice and very comfortable. The AC on one side of the house stopped working our second day, but the owner noticed before the management company and had it fixed the next day. We were very happy with the response.
We are already looking into the possibility of returning to this very same location.

Amazing House!!!
Overall, this house was wonderful. If was very spacious and had very nice decor. The house was fully equipped with everything you need. Everything was clean and up to date. Beach is beautiful but a bit rocky getting into the water. Water shoes are a must. We we arrived, one of the A/C units was not working properly and after I called they had someone come out within an hours. These things are going to happen when you are in a house and I was very pleased with their responsiveness. We would definitely stay here again. Wonderful house and very responsive property manager.

We've stayed in several places in the Carribean and this home was clearly the best all around home we've stayed in. The rocky shore entry was a little difficult, but not much you can do about that. The sandy back yard and beach were super. At mid day there's no shade in the pool area. An umbrella would be a nice addition. The home layout, room size, ammenities, and all were perfect for our family which consisted of 7 adults, 2 teenagers, and a 6 1/2 year old. Would highly recommend the Cayman Sands.

Beautiful property, perfect for large family
Our family of 13 (10 adults, 3 children) had a wonderful vacation while staying in this well appointed, comfortable home. We all had our own bedroom/bathroom giving everyone privacy and personal comfort. The setting is truly incredible!!! We enjoyed the large patio and pool area where we spent a great deal of time. The "tiny house" was also perfect for one of our couples. While staying in this home, we did venture out to Starfish Point, Rum Point, a few local restaurants and we made a day trip to 7-mile beach. There were several areas to snorkel right on and near the property. We all enjoyed every minute of our time in this beautiful home. Highly recommended.

Such a beautiful well appointed home in a great location! Plenty of space. Beach and pool were great for two families with eight children between us. When the waves were calm we could snorkel from the beach using water shoes. There were 2 4-person kayaks for use as well. The house had everything, comfy beds, plenty of towels, even coolers and an ice machine to pack a picnic lunch. Location is good to head north to Rum Point or back across the island to Georgetown and 7 Mile Beach. Lots of restaurants a short drive away. Would definitely stay here again if we get the chance to go back to the Caymans.

Great time in Grand Cayman
We traveled to Grand Cayman last week and stayed at Cayman Sands. If you are looking for a great house with a pool and secluded beach this house if for you. We traveled with another family of four (8 total) and the house sets up perfectly with two master suites and separate bedroom on each side of the house so we each family really had their own space with family room, kitchen, and pool in the middle. For larger groups the guest house would also give and additional family private space. The house is very well stocked and has everything that you need for cooking, pool, beach, as well as several coolers, snorkel gear, etc. I also wanted to mention that the management company was great to work with for the entire trip. Due to flights over spring break they worked with us to move our stay from Saturday to Sunday. We used the complementary work out room at Silver Thatch quite a few times and also booked charter boats through them. Overall, both family's had a great time and we will certainly return in the future.

unbelivable
being from Va Beach and the Outer Banks of NC I have been around a lot of rental properties and I have never seen a property so well supplied. Everything you could want or need on vacation was their from the little things like large coolers, small bag cooler, picnic basket, pool toys, ice maker, ETC,ETC. to large items like kayak's and snorkel gear. Meticulously maintained house and grounds with a superb and accommodating rental agent and property manager. Highly recommended. Will be back

Perfection!
We chose the Cayman Sands house for our family of 11 including three under 5 years old. The 2nd week we had a group of 8 adult friends. This house was perfect for both groups. The enclosed pool area was a wonderful gathering space. We also had our yoga teacher conduct morning yoga in there. It also was a great space when the chef set up our beach bbq and after dinner s'mores. When we had questions, the house manager was quite responsive. We loved the restaurants nearby also! We had groceries and liquore delivered as well as some baby equipment. It was an amazing two weeks and we can't wait to return! We will definitely rent this house again! Thanks to Cayman Sands and all the people who had a hand in our fabulous trip.

The property was amazing.
The house was amazing and we enjoyed every minute. The owner was fantastic and made sure that if we needed anything, we were promptly taken care of. Couldn't ask for anything better. Definitely looking forward to coming back again.

2018 Family Vacation
This house was amazing! Had everything you could possibly need for a wonderful vacation away from home. Kayaks on the beach, life preservers, beach chairs, beach shoes, a hose for getting off the sand, beach towels, great screened-in pool set up. The kitchen had everything you could wish for to prepare meals for our family. They had a washer & dryer & an ice maker! Very considerate hosts. Can't say enough about how nice the house & cottage were. Perfect for our family of 10. Also, we were a little concerned that the location was far from the "action", but this proved to not be the case. Everything was easily reached. Oh, and the rental agency lent us coolers & swim fins for free!

Cayman Sands
Property was AWESOME! The house was equipped with everything needed for a great time except the people to enjoy. The snorkeling out from the house was phenomenal. I highly recommend this property for a quiet getaway. Very relaxing.

Amazing Home... Less than ideal beach
I can't overstate how nice the residence and amenities were. Great space for our 2 family, 8 person getaway. The furniture and amenities were spot on and perfect for our needs.
The beach on the other hand, was not quite what we were expecting. The seaweed was heavy not only on the beach but in the water out several meters. A cleaning crew did arrive on our last day to clean the beach, but the next morning it was covered again. The snorkeling is great 50-100 meters off the shore, but the coral begins right at the water line and makes it difficult for smaller children to fight the waves, through the seaweed and over the rocks to get to water deep enough to swim.
Overall, I would say that this is a great place to go for a quiet, relaxing and secluded retreat. Not ideal for young kids wanting to boogie board, build sand castles and swim off the shore.
4.8
This property is fantastic. Well stocked and large rooms. GREAT!
The Andersen, Matson & McWilliams' families just returned from our Cayman vacation. Here are the words everyone used to describe the time we had on Grand Cayman and at the Cayman Sands. AMAZING, AWESOME, SPECTACULAR and the BEST vacation ever. Our party consisted of 12 people ranging from 5-74 and we had more than enough room to spread out and enjoy all this house had to offer. The kitchen was fully stocked with more than enough to accommodate a family of this size. The only thing that would have been a great addition to the kitchen was a slow cooker/crock pot so that you could make your meal in the morning and then play all day and come back to a delicious hot meal ready to eat.
Truthfully, this house exceeded our expectation in all ways...it truly was PERFECT!
If you have a large family and want to enjoy the peaceful beauty of the North Shore on Grand Cayman then Cayman Sands is the place for you.

Paradise
This house was amazing. We had 13 people in our group. The ages ranged from 2-60. We all loved it. Plenty of room for everyone sleeping, eating , visiting and playing games. There is a pool that is screened in and that was a great place to relax. The house has its own private sandy beach. Some enjoyed sitting in the covered cabana area. You do need sturdy sandals or water shoes for there is lots of broken shells and coral. We did the stingray trip, bioluminescent kayak tour and had Lindsay come to the house for a yoga lesson. This part of the island is definitely quieter, but you still have some good restaurant choices as well as a couple of small grocery stores. The kitchen is well stocked so we did make dinner at the house a few times.
Our favorite beach was Rum Point. It has free beach chairs, hammocks, an area for ordering food and drink , bathrooms and lots of shade. Our group loves the beach but we don’t last long if there is no shade.
We actually got bumped from St. Thomas because of the hurricane, but we were not disappointed at all. We had a great vacation!

Beautiful
My parents had a condo on seven mile beach when we were young. This year my parents wanted to return to Grand Cayman. I researched for what seemed months and landed at Cayman Sands. My Dad has a very tough time getting around so it was important to have assistance bars in the bathroom and shower. Cayman Sands even has a dock/boardwalk to get out to the gazebo without having to walk on sand. He sat out there for hours watching the waves come in. It was fantastic to have all 11 of us all under the same roof (we did rent the guesthouse as well). Very clean and recently painted - lots of pool toys and kitchen has every utensil you would ever need! Best mattresses in a rental I have ever experienced as well as top notch linens and bedding. My kids missed school for two weeks to make this trip happen but the internet kept them working on their math facts while out. It was wonderful to be able to get my parents down to Cayman and have a home that they were comfortable in. Thank you to the owners for thinking about disabilities! It was a trip we will not forget and I hope to come back with my children again.

Loved Cayman Sands!
We've rented a fair number of houses in the Caribbean, and by far, Cayman Sands was the best. Great pool, awesome beach and the best equipped kitchen we've ever seen in a rental property. Maintenance on beach/ocean-front properties is always a challenge, but the house/property were impeccable. Layout of the house was perfect for our 2 families. Everyone had a great time. We did 3 shore dives from the beach - great reefs (Julie's wall and Babylon). The only thing I would change about the house is that the sheer curtains in the bedrooms let in a LOT of light (if one group stays up and hangs by the pool or in the living area or when the sun rises at 6 am). We hung some of our dark dive towels which helped, but black-out curtains would be a great addition.

Remote Paradise
Took a family vacation with 11 adults and 3 children ranging in age from 2 to 82 years-old. Wonderful house with pool and private beach. It is located well off the beaten path. If you are looking for activities and night life in the city or on Seven Mile Beach then plan on taking a long drive. The house is located at least 45 minutes from the airport and busy shopping and dining areas. However, this house was perfect for our family. We saw a total of 8 people the entire week. Not 8 people on the beach but from the beach looking in all directions. The enclosed pool and sitting area, the tiled porch deck and the gazebo were wonderful for relaxing and gathering. There were pool toys and ample lounge chairs. There were two booster chairs for the children and a separate ice maker in the laundry room. There were two newer ocean kayaks with seat backs, paddles and life jackets. There was a new charcoal grill available. The pool depth goes from 3 to 6 feet with corner steps and a ledge which runs the length of the shallow end for children. The yard is all sand but the beach is not. Aqua shoes are a MUST. There were 10 pair of aqua shoes at the house ranging from child to adult sizes. The beach is rock, shells and coral. It can be difficult walking out into the surf navigating the rock ledges and coral. But this also provided amazing snorkeling less than 100 yards from the shore. We have chartered snorkeling excursions on other islands that could not match the experiences right off this house's shoreline. The separate cottage was a nice get away for my daughter and son-in-law who have not yet experienced the chaos of raising young children. There was a crib in one of the rooms in lieu of the listed single bed. The sleeper sofa was comfortable but located in the living room. It works much better in the spacious King or Queen rooms. There is one TV in the main house and one TV in the cottage. No TVs are in the bedrooms which was fine with us. There are grocery, water-sport, and liquor stores only 5 miles to the East -- an easy drive (stay on the LEFT side). We rented 2 vans which we used for various day trips to other parts of the island. Check your cell phone service plan. We planned to use the GPS on our phones but only two of us had service. Consider renting a GPS when you rent your vehicle. This is an amazing house in a scenic remote paradise location. It worked perfectly for our family vacation and all were delighted with the experience.

The house is absolutely gorgeous and well equipped. The cottage was a nice added touch because we brought a babysitter with us. The beach was perfect. It is great for a family vacation however you need a car because it is remote. It's about 35 to 40 minutes from Georgetown but we enjoyed the adventure of driving around the island. There is a gas station nearby and a small grocery and liquor store about ten minutes away. We ate in Georgetown one night only because of the long drive, however there are a couple of nearby restaurants that were delicious. We had a toddler so we did have to make sure that the door to the pool was always locked. We also made sure that there was a bar to stop the door from opening if he unlocked the door. We put a chair in front of the front door at night (just being over cautious). The local phone did not work very well but we had our cell phones so we were fine. The house and yard were very spacious and we would definitely go back.

4 generation family of 10 people (10-84 yrs.) stayed here for a week. We came from Alaska & WI. We loved this home, it's layout was perfect. The common area was large enough for us to have meals & fun, but yet the bedrooms afforded families to escape for privacy (& own bathrooms). The View...couldn't ask for better! Only one house next door, but we felt we had the whole beach to ourselves. The atrium pool area was nice for keeping bugs out. We paid for pool heat, but still very cold. My 84 yr. old mother-in-law was looking forward to swimming there, but to cold. It barely got used. My husband & I rented the cottage, very cute. Don't use the shower at night, we are assuming that is what kept setting off the smoke alarm to beep every 20 seconds. Take your shower in the cottage during the day. The main house kitchen has everything, large table for meals & cards. We had groceries delivered from Kirk Market (great service). Unfortunately we experienced some bad weather late in the week. Rain was coming in the seaside doors from the weather seal, we were moping a lot. The owner himself called and apologized & was getting it fixed after we left. Things unexpectedly can happen even in paradise. The good things outweigh the few incidents. We loved our stay with the whole family and we would return or recommend Cayman Sands.

Cayman Sands was the most relaxing and fantastically appointed property we've ever rented. The location is wonderful. We have been to 7 mile beach many times and were unsure of how we would like the remoteness of this side of the island, but we may never go back to 7 mile! We really enjoyed how we were able to get away from it all, but yet still go to Rum Point or Kaibo or some of the other great restaurants/sights on the Northside.
The photos of this property don't do it justice. We were so impressed with every detail that made us feel at home. The plush towels, comfortable bedding and plenty of great beach towels. The cooking utensils and kitchen amenities were great for cooking fabulous family meals or just whipping up a pitcher of margaritas!
Cayman Sands was clean, beautiful and everything we wanted in a vacation property. I highly recommend it!!
4.8
We stayed at Cayman Sands for one month. The house is located on a more secluded area of the island and offers a lot of privacy and seclusion. The property is kept very neat and clean. The beach is very private, however a little rocky. The house has ocean kayaks that are great to use and we highly recommend a sunset kayak. You can shore dive from the house which is a huge plus. The reef is a little of a swim out, however the reef is worth it. The house has a book with very detailed information on diving from the beach. The pool is great and being inside a screened enclosure we did not need to worry about bugs or getting too much sun. The rooms were spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and linens were nice. The kitchen is also great and has all you need to be able to cook great meals.
We had a few issues come up while we were there for a month (normal with any property) and the managers addressed immediately without any inconvenience to us.
I would highly recommend renting and staying at Cayman Sands.

My sister and I rented this place for a week in Nov. 2010 and took our families. We had a terrific time. The house is in a great location with great restaurants and beaches nearby and things are not crowded as it is at Seven Mile beach. The house was great and accommodated the eight of us very comfortably. Everything in the house was in good working order except the pool which was too cold to use. We had two dinners catered in the house by local cooks which was a lot of fun. We would be going back for sure this year but schedules did not work out. I recommend Cayman Sands.

We stayed at Cayman Sands during the week of Thanksgiving -2010. There were 7 of us who stayed all week in the villa and we all have only positive things to say about it. The photos do not do justice to the property. The property is extremely clean and well maintained and the information that we were given answered every question about what we could expect for the week. I would recommend this property without hesitation for anyone who wants to be away from 7-mile beach and crowds. It is private but secure. We also loved Kaibo's at Rum Point. Cayman Sands isn't far in distance from amenities such as grocery stores, but with the slower speed limits on the island, it does take longer than we expected to drive back to Georgetown and/or 7-mile beach area, so make a stop by the grocery store first and spend the remainder of your time just being laid back on Island time.

My brother and I (along with our kids and spouses) took our parents here for a week to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary last summer. The place was enjoyed by ages 5-70! The beach was beautiful. I loved the little covered area for shade for us while the kids played for hours in the sand. Relaxing in the hammock and enjoying the view was wonderful. We worked on one of your puzzles together throughout the week. The rooms were just right for us. The cousins all slept together in the kids bunk room. And there were still 3 lovely bedrooms for us three couples. The pool was a perfect place to cool off and also burn some extra kiddo energy with plenty of "Marco Polo." The pool was screened in to keep us shady again and the outdoor furniture was a lovely place for us grown-ups to relax and talk with the splashing and "Marco Polo" in the background. The kitchen was great and the table was big enough to seat all of us together for dinner. We can't actually pull that off in any of our homes. For once we had a celebration without a separate kids table! We had a photographer come and do a session for us while we were there and the beach out back and trees out front were lovely backgrounds for our cherished photo memories. The vacation was perfect. If I had it to do again, I would not change a thing!

My husband and I travelled with our daughter, son-in-law and nephew(prior year our son also came with us) and a dear friend and her hubby and had an absolutely wonderful time at this property. Well maintained, kitchen well-supplied, beautiful outdoor areas and the Cayman weather made for an almost perfect winter getaway. Guest cottage was used and suited our friend and hubby perfectly.
The setting is on the quiet side of the island which was exactly what we were looking for. Kayaks were a nice touch. Pool is a bit small, heated, and suited our needs with the great big ocean just out front. Hammocks were a favorite spot for early morning solitude. With the outdoor area screened and the huge sliding doors open to it, we spent endless hours in the evening with the outdoors inside. Bedrooms are separated just enough for privacy and the two ocean front bedrooms each have wonderful, roomy showers.

Our family of 12...8 adults and 4 kids rented Cayman Sands in January 2010, It was the perfect size for our family! I would rent this property again. We also loved the location...quieter side of the island and loved "Rum Point"!

A group of 8 adults stayed there in June, 2010. We had been to the Cayman's many times before and always stay at different properties - all of which have been great. This beat them all!! We loved the house itself, the two large master suites, bunk room, awesome kitchen, screened room/pool and really got a ton of mileage out of the gazebo. Great place for a cocktail and enjoying the ocean. The pictures really gave us an accurate idea of what we were getting into and all the amenities were as advertised - if not better.
This year we went to St. Thomas and The BVI where we again had houses, but all anyone would talk about is our week at Cayman Sands due to the quality of the entire package. The property is not one that you will ever forget.
We definitely plan on going back for a repeat at Cayman Sands. Close to Rum Point, restaurants and really is nice being on the quiet side of the island away from 7-mile, for those wanting a more relaxing time.

We spent two weeks in Cayman Sands in July 2011. The house is well designed and decorated. We liked the open floor plan and the view to the beach. The pool's close proximity and visibility to the house was a plus. The gazebo next to the beach was nice; we spent a lot of time in the hammocks. Entering the water from the beach directly behind the house is a bit uninviting (rocky, many urchins), but that is the case in many areas around the island. Cayman Sands does not have good snorkeling right behind the house, either. This and the beach entry were negatives for my children, but they had plenty of fun playing in the pool and sand. The scuba divers in our family were more than happy with the location; we rented tanks from Ocean Frontiers and did several shore dives from Cayman Sands' own beach. This is the main reason we rented Cayman Sands and were not disappointed. The home's central location in Old Man Bay was also very convenient if you're going to be traveling frequently to the east end to dive and buy groceries. I would definitely rent Cayman Sands again in the future.

We stayed at Cayman Sands in March of 2010 with our two children, ages 4 and 6, and our babysitter. The house is gorgeous and pristinely clean - cool, wide, breezy VERY large central living space with four enormous bedrooms, two on each wing. It's a good house for families, or for multiple couples - the entire living/kitchen space and two of the bedrooms look out onto the pool area (it's a U-shape surrounding the pool in the middle), so you can keep an eye on your kids at all times, even if running in to make lunch. The gazebo by the ocean is a great staging area: big enough for a midday picnic lunch and rest in the shaded hammocks. We used the kayak often and did a lot of snorkeling (one parent/kid in kayak; one parent/kid in water). A much larger family, or two families, could use this home - it's so private and spacious with four bunks in one of the rooms (it's all on one floor so no stairs to worry about w. young kids). Sand was soft and deep between the house and ocean, but down the beach are some fabulous tidal pools and limestone sections where our kids explored and watched crabs and other tidal creatures for hours! The best part for us was the screened-in pool with very nice outdoor couches. The screening is very tasteful and keeps out any flying (or crawly) insects and crabs. Plus you can swim at night while kids are in bed, since two bedrooms face right out on the pool. This house is in a remote and private section of the island, far (both geographically and metaphorically) from the high-rises of Seven Mile beach. You can still drive into Georgetown or Boddentown if you want, but why would you want? There's a small grocery in Old Man Bay, and we ate multiple meals at the little open-air seafood place about a mile away- owned by a French chef - amazing food! And don't miss the botanical gardens and blue iguanas about 3 miles away. You could spend a whole day there, or a whole life...

We had 2 families with a total of 4 adults and 4 kids (ages:9, 7, 7, 2) on our trip. We did not use the 1 bdrm cottage. The house was great! The pictures are very accurate. The house was clean and the amenities were as advertised. The gazebo was another great addition to the house. The house was perfect for kids with the pool and the beach. This is not a barefoot beach so bring your water shoes. If we were at the house the kids were in the pool! We kayaked and snorkeled right behind the house and it was great. The house is perfectly located for a quite get away from the big town of Georgetown. Rum point is the best and 10 minutes by car down the road. We loved Rum Point! There is a small liquor store 5 minutes from the house and a very small grocery store about the same distance - 20 minute drive for a full grocery. There are several great restaurants 5 - 20 minutes away with out having to go to Georgetown if you choose not to use the grill. We had good meals at Over the Edge (5 min) and Tukka (20 min East End) and one of the best meals I have every had at the Restaurant at Rum Point - The Seafood Hot Pot! Over all a great vacation and a great house. Jim prepares you to visit Grand Cayman with all of the info you need. I felt like we had been there several times before even though this was our first visit because of the info Jim provides. We had zero questions about the house, the area, or the island. The house caretaker, Thelda, was also very available. We did not need her much but when we did we got what we needed. Highly Recommended!

We had 3 families together for our vacation and rented both the villa and cottage. This was the second trip to Cayman Sands for my husband and me, and it was just as wonderful as our first trip in 2002. The villa is well appointed and very spacious, giving each of the families ample space. The planning information provided was very helpful and accurate (note that Portofino Restaurant is now Tukka - equally as fabulous, and we couldn't find Roland's Garden, but that may have been more our issue than the directions). The kids loved the pool, and the beach hosted numerous touch football games, which will remain in our kids' memories for quite some time. Having access to the washer/dryer and having the standalone ice machine were amenities that you don't often think about, but they were frequently used and very appreciated. We dove with Ocean Frontiers on the East End, went to Stingray City with Red Sail Sports from Rum Point, and spent a day at Rum Point beach as well as Smith's Cove. These are all very enjoyable and I would recommend to others visiting Grand Cayman. All around, this was a fantastic vacation and wonderful villa to enjoy Grand Cayman from.
