About this house rental
This is a private three bedroom house you will be reserving in the Avondale neighborhood. Plenty of available free street parking. The residence sits on the intersection of Elston, Rockwell and Wellington. We are in the middle of it all. You can shoot into downtown quickly or be in Wrigleyville within minutes to watch the Cubs. You’ll love this place because of the neighborhood and privacy. I recommend using a vehicle to-and-from this location.15 minute drive to downtown.
The space is three large carpeted bedrooms, sunny dining room, chill living room, and one bathroom. Only a few stairs up from the sidewalk and you are in the house that was built in 1892. The look and feel of the house is true Chicago vintage. You have all the privacy you need. Decent size deck in the back with a gated backyard. Hardwood floors in the living and dining room add to the retro feel. Each bedroom has a large closet, full or queen size bed, night stand and dresser. Create breakfast for your group in the large kitchen that has lots of cabinets and storage space. Plenty of closets throughout if you are a traveling band or in Chicago for work and need a temporary place for your equipment. There is a washer and dryer in the house that you may use. Radiator heat keeps the place toasty in the cold months. Window AC units keep the whole place cool in the summertime. No large parties please.
****You have access to the deck, yard, and laundry room.****
****If you need anything I live under 10 minutes from the property.****
Things to consider before making a reservation:
-Although the house is in a manufacturing area, you are very much within the city limits and not the suburbs. The street that the house is on "Elston", can have lots of traffic during the day.
-Please take note that the house is next to a Steak House. They do have parties at times and will play music at night (open until 1am on weekends). From my experience I do not think it is excessive, however if you have children with you this may pose a problem on certain nights (weekends).
-Just a heads up, I have alcohol related advertisements in the form of signage and posters in the kitchen and in one bedroom.
-The other thing to think about is getting around town from this location. This rental is best if you have a vehicle. The bus and train are not right outside the door. You will have to do a little research on catching the train and bus (or ask me). We are not terribly far from public transportation, however if your not from Chicago you may find dealing with the train and bus system can be tedious. The nearest subway station in the Blue Line Logan Square stop; The neighborhood is very pleasant to walk through. The AGH is not walking distance to downtown. You can get to downtown Chicago in 15 minutes or less by car.
Please ask me if early arrival or late departing is available. I do allow flexibility
with the schedule if time permits. However please remind me the day before that you
will be coming early or leaving late if we agreed to it. It is hard to keep up with many
schedule demands on my end, but I keep up with all VRBO messages.

The neighborhood actually feels very safe. Fully fenced in yard for the dogs and a street right out the back with some grass for them to use the restroom, ensure you bring your clean up bags! Would recommend for anyone looking to be within 20 min of downtown. There was a great brewery, Rockwell brewery, that’s only a block away and safe to walk to.

I can’t say enough about how wonderful this property and this stay was. It’s a great location, very close to bus stops and all kinds of fun attractions. It was well stocked, best I’ve experienced in vacation rentals. Everything you could possibly need and many things I wouldn’t have considered. Great communication with property manager. We will definitely be revisiting this stellar property.

This house is a perfect place to explore Lincoln park Chicago. We stayed with 8 adult women and had more than enough space. Everything we needed was in the home. Super clean home as well.

Lots of space but not really near anything. Also, need to upgrade the front door lock- you can see the outside even with it locked. Front bedroom is so loud bc on the street and shower could use an upgrade.

We have stayed 2 nights with our two dogs. The place is great! Super clean, confortable, well located, with all the commodities needed. Parking was easy. The neighborhood felt safe. And Jed was super responsive. He even got us a car to drive us to the airport! Whenever we come back to Chicago, we will stay here again for sure!

Stayed here over the weekend with some buddies for a Cubs game. Great location, close to a lot and can get almost anywhere pretty easy. Place was homie and comfortable, really enjoyed spending mornings drinking coffee on back porch hanging out. The only issue we had was the AC, it got hot at times. Besides that, it was a very nice place, perfect for a Chicago getaway!

Interesting old place
This house was old without much updates, but we really liked it. My kids really enjoyed how "interesting" it was. Neighborhood was transitional but we felt safe. It was easy to get around and street parking was fine. We had no trouble with noise from next door.

AMAZING- We keep coming back
Jedidiah's place is perfect and cozy. This was our 3rd time staying here and we will most definately be back. My husband and little dogs feel right at home.

Older structure in a transition area (residential/industrial) and main road artery. Easy access to downtown, Wrigley Field, other north neighborhoods. Nothing fancy but served our needs perfectly. Property contact provided recommendations and very easy to work with.

You have absolutely NOTHING to worry about, if you're considering staying at this property! My daughter and I vacationed here for her spring break, we had an awesome stay here! Jedidiah thought of absolutely everything you'd need to make it an enjoyable experience....we'll definitely stay here again, when we come back to Chicago! Thanks again Jedidiah ❤❤❤

Great Stay
Jedediah was a great host and was very accommodating with our late check in due to car problems. The property was clean and relaxed, with all the essentials needed for cooking and cleaning. It is a great area and having the whole home to yourself is a big plus. Also we went during a huge snow storm so that shovel he left was a big plus too!

Awesome stay
We had a great time in your house. It was clean, spacious, everything we need are already there. Homey like feeling, not hard to find a parking at the back. I really loved my stay there. Thank you!

House was perfect especially during COVID since restaurants with only outside dining were hard to find. It was also very convenient to have a washer and dryer. Kitchen was well equipped too and my most favorite was having the keurig coffee maker and keurig pods.. will definitely stay there again

Visiting our daughter.
Just the savings with having free street parking nearly paid for our stay! The neighborhood was friendly and quiet, and the house was perfect for our visit. We enjoyed the rear deck for morning coffee and evening visits!

Perfect!
We loved our stay in Avondale! The place was large and could easily accommodate the 5 of us (and definitely much larger groups of required!). The home was warm and homey, well decorated and well stocked. It was so convenient and we went in and out of the city on buses and trains easily (with a 7 min walk to the bus stop). There were plenty of grocery stores and food places within a small radius and that was great for us too. Jedidiah was fast to respond and really helpful before and during the stay. I highly recommend him!

What is great?
It was awesome! I would go there again! The house was so close to so many things and was not far from any places you wanted to go like downtown Chicago! This place felt like home and the owner himself replies instantly! Great communication and awesome, clean, and wonderful home. I greatly appreciate having him have us in his home! I also brought my dog too because it was a friendly dog home. ❤️🙌

Great stay in Chicago
The Avondale Guesthouse is perfect for a stop in Chicago! The house is just as pictured - there is a nice living room with ROKU TV and lots of channels - there is a large dining room - the eat-in kitchen is big and has everything that you need. The bathroom has a tub, shower, commode and sink - there are plenty of towels, a hair dryer, plenty of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, etc. There are three bedrooms - each with a double bed, desk, television, closet and ceiling fans. The beds are comfy with plenty of pillows and comforters/blankets. The kitchen leads out to a nice deck with stair down to the yard which is fully fenced for the dogs. The neighborhood is nice and the neighbors are quite friendly. There is a restaurant next door which has music some nights but it really didn't both us or the dogs. The location is convenient to everything Chicago! Stay here and you won't be disappointed.
