About this chalet rental
Before booking, please read the "Important things to note before booking" at the end of this description. Thank you!
You honestly won't find another property like this! It's nestled along the treeline of a 50-acre organic farm with breathtaking views of the mountains and sunsets visible through our large floor-to-ceiling windows. Our other border runs along PA State Forest, and with our lake and stream that runs through the property, you get a true mountain escape. If you're looking for a private, outdoor mountain experience with plenty of space and amenities, then you've found it!
While private, we're conveniently located about 10 minutes from both Seven Springs and Hidden Valley. Many people find it to be the perfect location due to the close proximity to the resorts while also having access to markets, restaurants, shops, and other attractions only a couple of minutes away.
In the warmer seasons, enjoy the large front yard complete with provided outdoor sporting equipment and a volleyball area. There’s plenty of room for almost any outdoor sport you can think of. Sit back and relax on our 500-square-foot deck, complete with a propane grill and picnic table. Sip your favorite beverage while enjoying a panoramic view of beautiful mountain ridges. Or, grab your swimsuit and a fishing pole and head down to our lake. At night, unwind around the large fire pit while enjoying smores and listening to the summer night’s sounds including the soothing burble of the Pike Run stream that runs through our property. Stargazing is stunning!
In the colder months, enjoy the indoor fireplace while looking out at beautiful snowscapes through the large front windows. From board games to movies and video games, there should be no shortage of entertainment while indoors. Seven Springs Resort and Hidden Valley are both about a 10-minute drive and offer some of the best skiing in PA as well as snow tubing and plenty of indoor activities.
One main highlight of our property is our lake. It’s constantly fed by a freshwater intake from Pike Run which flows from deep in the mountains. It's a secluded and beautiful place (check out our pics), and great for swimming and fishing.
Unlike other properties up on the mountain, we're within 5 minutes from Donegal with restaurants, groceries, beer and wine, a local zoo, a family entertainment center (go-karts, mini-golf, etc.), and many other fun places to visit. The ICV biking/hiking trailhead is only a mile away as well as hiking in the Roaring Run Natural Area. The location is hands down the best in the area as it's central to the resorts, town, main area attractions, and State Parks. Ohiopyle State Park is only a scenic 25-minute drive away as well and is great for rafting and day trips.
Looking for a rustic cabin but don’t want to give up the modern amenities? No problem! We offer many of the amenities you are used to at home, such as:
- High-speed internet and WIFI + repeater for great coverage throughout.
- 2 flat-screen TVs with cable (DVR, On-Demand, Amazon Prime Video, etc.)
- Strong cellular service (Verizon's network but I assume others as well)
- Dishwasher
- Washer/Dryer
- Full kitchen
- Keurig with complimentary k-cups and a 12-cup coffee pot
- Fridge with door ice and water
- Whole house water filtration (crystal clear water with no “well taste” or smell)
- And much more :)
For the sake of being conservative, we have the cabin listed as 3 bedrooms, but you could make a case for 4. The "4th" bedroom is only accessible by going through the 3rd so it "technically" doesn't qualify. They are separated by a wall with an "accordion-style" divider for a door. You can see this in the pictures.
There is also an expandable dining room table in the back that can comfortably fit 10 - 12 for larger gatherings.
*** IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE BEFORE BOOKING ***

- Parking for up to 5 vehicles. If you need more it may be possible, please inquire.

COOLER SEASON BOOKINGS:
- 4-wheel/all-wheel drive is necessary with snow. Our road and parking area are gravel. Even after plowing, if there is any snow or ice on the road, a 2-wheel drive will likely have issues. We’ve never had issues as long as you have 4-wheel drive.
- Guests are responsible for shoveling/salting (provided) the steps and deck area to the front door during their stay if needed. We provide a plowing service for the driveway/road.
- Provided kiln-dried wood is for the fireplace only. Please do not burn outdoors unless otherwise mentioned. There are several places very close by to purchase wood for outdoor fires.

The property exceeded my expectations. Thanks you for everything.

We had the absolute BEST time at the property. We traveled from Pittsburgh and met up with a few other families and their kids. The house is warm and welcoming. The property felt safe, quiet, and secluded. The deck was amazing to have dinner on and watch the sunset. The pond was incredible. It was a perfect place to play, reconnect with each other, and de stress for parents and kids. The house was in great shape, with tons of extras- life life jackets, bug spray, baby toys. Kids were able to explore the trees and adults were able to talk and laugh. An absolutely magical place- we can't wait to come back!

Our stay surpassed all expectations. The property was clean and very well appointed. All our needs as guests were provided and we loved the deck overlooking beautiful fields and hills. The beds were comfortable and plentiful. The large living room and view of sunsets, fireflies, and July 4 fireworks kept us very happy. We swam in and fished the private pond. Thank you! We intend to return!

Our group included our family of five along with some friends of ours who joined us with their two children. Our ski weekend getaway went quick and we enjoyed every minute of it. Nestled back on the edge of the forest we thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of its location. The walk through the woods and back to the pond was a bonus. We had plenty of room for our group of 9 and especially loved the common area with it's fabulous fireplace. We most certainly would love to visit again. Jim and Mandi thank you for sharing your very unique and awesome cabin. You thought of everything and were fabulous and gracious hosts! We made some great memories!

We booked our weekend as a mother/daughter getaway for 12 of us. The location and property were perfect. Such an easy drive to Seven Springs! The stay was turn-key! Our host was so helpful and available for questions. We will definitely come back!

Fantastic property with owners that will bend over backwards to make your stay most enjoyable!

It was exactly as described and it was perfect for what we wanted- a peaceful retreat with our dogs. The area was beautiful especially in the autumn season and very quiet. The owners were very responsive and easy to communicate with. We appreciated all the suggestions in the manual at the property and enjoyed the restaurants, hikes, and we were very close to the Frank Lloyd Wright homes that we toured during our stay. Fantastic trip all around!

Both the property and the owner are above and beyond. What’s listed for this property. We’ve rented a lot of family spots but this one is by far the best I give it 10 stars out of five. Please don’t tell anyone else about it. It’s that wonderful.

My friends and I had the perfect weekend. The place was spotless, well supplied and the property is amazing - Its a slice of heaven. Jim is a very kind, respectful and responsive host. We will 100% be coming back!

We had a great vacation at the cabin. It was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The yard was well-maintained so that we could enjoy some activities with the kids. We went to The Caddy Shak about 5 minutes away, The Sandcastle Park (1 hour), Laurel Caverns (45 minutes), 7-Springs (10 minutes)... All recommended day trips!
Check-in was easy. They provide lots of amenities for guests to use (PS2, K-cups, games, streaming services, wifi, laundry machines/detergent, fire pit). The owners were available by phone the whole time if we needed anything but I don't think we did.
Overall, I highly recommend for a relaxing getaway.

We had a very unusual experience because there was a windstorm all around the property. James was sooo helpful. If he owned any other property we’d check it out. He was so easy to work with and u defeat ding and gave us a full refund even though it was in no way his fault.

This place is great! My husband and our 2 dogs came for a few relaxing days after a busy wedding weekend and it was just what we needed. This was our second visit after we fell in love with the space in the spring. You can’t beat the location, cleanliness, soft beds and hospitality of the hosts!

We picked this rental because of central location for our family vacation. It was better than we imagined! So close to many area attractions. Some of the attractions were closed while we were here and it wasn’t an issue because there was so much to do and see right at this beautiful cabin. We loved our trips to the pond and watching beautiful sunsets from the front windows or on the swing by the fire pit. I overpacked but didn’t need to as the cabin was stocked with everything you needed. Don’t hesitate, this property is beautiful and the owner so responsive and helpful.

We spent hours looking for a spot to vacation for a week with our family and we are so happy that we found this place! From the very beginning Jim was quick to respond with any questions we had and offered up suggestions of things we could do near by. He called to welcome us and give us some tips on how to make our stay easier since we were staying the entire week. Jim also went out of his way to answer any questions that we had while we were there. Amazing hosts! The cabin itself was clean and cozy and fully stocked. It's clear that they take a lot of time and consideration into anything their guests may need. Inside there is lots of space to gather and hang out together. If you are traveling with a large group, only one of the bedrooms offers full privacy, but it is definitely worth it. The property was absolutely beautiful. The deck is spacious with lots of seating to enjoy your meals or morning coffee with a view. Our kids loved using the volleyball net and yard games. We enjoyed plenty of time at the pond, just a 5 min walk away. We fished and swam and the kids explored the creek. We can't recommend experiencing this place for yourself enough. We had the most amazing week and we will definitely be coming back next year!! We

Perfect hosts
My fiancé and I along with our 2 dogs stayed for a midweek visit in April. Jim was very communicative and let us know everything we needed before we arrived. The place is easy to find and secluded but still close to commerce. The house itself is very well organized and comfortable. We had some wild weather during our visit, but Jim was quick to connect when needed. We’d 100% recommend this place for those who enjoy the outdoors and want to relax in either a small or larger group.

Should have booked longer!
The owner was very prompt and thorough regarding property. The cabin was pictured accurately. It was a fully stocked kitchen with plenty of coffee options (pot and keurig) for the 9 adults staying at home. Great tv, toy and game options for family. We visited the pond 3 times in one day, enjoyed the bonfire and used the property for several soccer games and kids’ tag. Beds, bathrooms and amenities were great and very comfortable for all ages from 1 thru 75! On day 2, we were talking about re-booking for future date.

Great cabin
We enjoyed this rental. It was clean, private, and easy location to ski resorts. Hosts were responsive and very helpful. Bathrooms were updated nicely and the kitchen was well stocked with cookware. Beds were also comfortable. *Just note that if anyone in your party is tall (probably 6’2” or taller) there are low areas of doorways and ceiling.*

True Hospitality
A gorgeous property and a cozy and comfy house that had literally everything we could have needed. We love to cook, and often at vacation homes *something* will be missing that we need to make whatever crazy thing we decided on, but this home had every utensil, every type of pan, container, spice - you name it. It was clear the owner really thinks about their guests’ needs and wants there stay to be exceptional, as ours was. We’d love to come back in the summer to explore the pond and woods more.

A beautiful cabin with superb surroundings. My wife and I loved staying at this cabin. We enjoyed the relaxing and peaceful atmosphere of this place. Autumn in the Laurel Highlands
My family had a great stay in this beautiful A-frame. Plenty of room in the house. The kids enjoyed playing in the stream and catching fish in the pond. Enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sunset. Peaceful.

Great house and property
The house was great for our group -- nicely furnished interior with 7 beds and 2 showers. The property also has a nice deck with grill and comfortable chairs, large lawn for games, big fire pit, volleyball net, and collection of balls, rackets, etc. Great view of neighboring fields with sunsets.

Overall, my family loved the woodsy cabin. I understood the lake was further away, however, we thought the pond would be more accessable. The access road was a bit dangerous going around the bend, leading to the cabin. We were pleasantly surprised at all the items provided to us for our stay. The manager was in constant communication making sure we had an enjoyable stay. We had a great time.

Great stay!
Comfortable property with lots of privacy. Awesome deck and yard. Was a great home-base for our family and our dog while exploring the region. We had everything we needed and the host provides thorough information to use all the amenities and get to all the best local spots.

Perfect stay
My summary of the experience is that I don't want to say too many good things for fear I may not be able to book my next stay, the one after that, and the next one after that, etc. because it is so popular everyone will want to book this property. It was my 2nd time there and there isn't a single thing I could honestly say negative. Owners are fantastic and very accessible.
