Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort #249 will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. We have been vacationing at Silver Sands for many years. It works well for a multigenerational vacation - each family has their own space. We like the pool area and the proximity of the beach with lounge chairs available although this year one morning they were not unlocked til 10:30. The units are clean but some are a little dated. Everyone looks forward to our family vacation at Silver sands - this year we had 15!

We have stayed at this resort in this unit for decades. I feel like the quality of the unit is not worth the ever increasing cost. Although we appreciate the beautiful view, there are items in the unit that have needed repair/replacement for years. The sofa is extremely uncomfortable and the sliding door is now almost impossible to open. In addition this year the refrigerator was missing a shelf making the food storage limited especially when you’re accommodating a family for a week. Lastly, for the price I feel that if you’re not going to include daily cleaning you should at least have a team that removes trash and replaces linens in your room. In the current condition I would not recommend the unit. In fact we did not reserve for our vacation next year even though we have been there for over 25 years :(

- Pool was nice.
- AC was incredible.
Cons:
- I realize what goes with being so close to the water but it could have used a bleaching in the bathroom to get rid of the moldy corners.
- Wifi wasn't that good.
Overall I'd stay there again

WE had been coming here for years about 10 years ago. We decided to do a reunion. We now have to clean out rooms, take the trash out, and out dishwasher was broken. For the price we are charged, this small lack of services was huge. I felt bad for the front desk managers, they had to do so much more because they were the only people on the property.

My first comment is to say that your Guest Service Agent, Margaret is awesome. Always a smile & ready to help in any way. She takes great care of all your renters. She is a valued representative for your company. we expect to see her back next year!This is our 2nd yr at SS & as was last year, the overall experience was great. This was our 1st stay in #249. The unit gets high marks in the areas of HVAC, tvs, water pressure. It really had everything we needed. I'm thinking that after this year, the LR sofa might need to be replaced, but otherwise the furnishings were good - beds were very comfortable - the decor very pleasing. As you will see below, we gave 5 stars to all your questions. We are booked for next year and can't wait to return.

We've stayed in this condo before, 5 years ago, and it has gone downhill since then. The furniture was the same, just much older and dirtier. The lanai had holes in the screen causing us to get eaten alive, there was black mold growing on the paint just below the sliding glass doors, and the paint on the floor of the lanai was bubbling up in certain areas and flaked off in others. Lastly, we couldn't get in the room until well after our check in time because the cleaners took over two hours to complete the cleaning from the previous tennants.

We paid $3,300 for a week in the off season and our room was not clean. A lot of things broken also. The bathtub had a ring of dirt around it. Also the toilet. There was sand on our couch. The fridge had a broken shelf that was taken out and a broken drawer. the oven was dirty inside and the baking trays weren't cleaned. Paint peeling off our door. I have pics of everything. The office lady said she couldn't do anything and we had to call a 1800 number. We will not be back.

Wonderful location, nice accommodations, quiet, short drive to shops and restaurants. Could have been cleaner, kitchen could be better equipped, and needs a better coffee maker. No maid service and had to go to office frequently to get dish soap, coffee, etc.

We had an amazing family time , this unit is the best located one as it faces the pool from your front door and it also faces the beach and access the beach walk from the screened balcony.Ms Margaret in the office is absolutely excellent and helped me with everything I needed . We will definitely come back and the only recommendation I have is for 2 of the beds to be updated or replaced please and those are the twin bed in the second room and the sofa bed , as they were not as comfortable.Thank you so much for great memories

This is the third annual beach trip for me and 3 of my girlfriends. Best set up we have seen. Less than 100 steps to a beach that is surrounded by private residences resulting in this property pretty much having a long stretch of beach to itself. NICE, sturdy lounge chairs are kept on the beach - no dragging them between your unit and the beach. Unit is small, but slept 4 of us easily. Full kitchen - pretty well-equipped. Pool are was nice - very clean - gas grills available for use. Office offers beach umbrellas for use at no charge. Wagons are available for unpacking/packing your vehicle. Definitely recommend!!!

The proximity to the beach is ideal. It's literally just steps out the "back" door to the beach. We were disappointed that the area was experiencing a red tide when we were there. We were looking forward to long walks on the beach, but mother nature prevented us from doing that. There were dead fish all over the beach and the smell of the fish and the red tide seemed unbearable at times. Of course, the owners/managers were not able to control this. We were still able to enjoy the area despite the beach conditions and odors being less than ideal. The property provided most everything we needed. There were plenty of towels and enough starter supplies (TP, paper towels, coffee filters, dish detergent, soap, shampoo, and lotion). Renters need to supply ALL their own pantry items, including salt/pepper. The king-size bed was very firm. The living room furniture is "tired," but it was sufficient for our short stay. There are enough dishes for 4-6 people. Although the property isn't in perfect condition, the cleanliness was satisfactory. There are lots of good restaurants in the area. There are also ssome areas for shopping. The best part of staying here is that it is peaceful and not crowded. We hope to return sometime when there is not a red tide.

This property is like a hidden gem, with gorgeous views and the small screened in lanai worked out great for us. Literally on the beach! The pool area was nice, and overall the condos were very quiet (but no one was staying above us during our stay, which is possible). The property manager was excellent, and willing to assist with any request (we had plenty of towels, soap, paper towels & toilet paper, which was a pleasant surprise). I would definitely recommend this place, and stay again if in the area. If you want to walk everywhere, this isn't a good choice, but a nice town center is a few miles down the road. The property is older, but it's well maintained. If I were to recommend anything, it would be to enhance the washer/dryer units. They are okay, but are showing some wear. We stayed several places while in FL and this one was our favorite!

Lovely property in an excellent position for beach and pool. Kids had a great time. Any problems were sorted quickly - the toaster didn’t work and was replaced immediately. I would have liked more plates as had to wash up rather than use the dishwasher being a family of 6.

The resort was awesome ! The beach is beautiful
Our unit was clean and comfortable .. the sofa is beat and needs replacing, the cushions I. The only chair in the living room were badly stained and was the little foot stool … we did not use the sleeper sofa because it was In Such bad shape .. we made do with the two twins and one king bed… it made it a little uncomfortable for the adults who had to sleep with children … a few minor upgrades are definitely needed …

This is the second time we have stayed at #249. This time we found the couch uncomfortable and the cushions on the rattan chair was stained and dirty. The beds were so hard, we dreaded going to bed! A completely different experience that last time we stayed which was two years ago. The place was clean and the small bathroom had great updates. The kitchen had updated appliances which were nice but the supply of dishes were pretty scarce. The location is the BEST!!! The pool and all recreational areas were nice and clean as well as the beach area. One other mention: when you have 5 women staying, please be sure there are more than 10 hangers. The price has gone up substantially since our last stay so I guess I thought it would be somewhat better. HOpefully beds and couch will be changed because we do plan on coming back!!! Thanks

Good pool and beach view. Beds were uncomfortable - especially the king. Very low ceilings in hallway and bathrooms. Very small shower but good water pressure. Coin laundry machines located outside which was weird. Overflow parking for a second car was down and across the street - not convenient. “Ok” for one night we stayed there.

The gulf is right outside your front door. It isn’t crowded and the resort provides umbrellas and chairs. The sand is like sugar. As if that wasn’t heavenly enough, the side door leads to the pool and shuffleboard and miniature golf. Lots of fabulous restaurants on the island. Host is very professional and friendly.
