The location just in front of the ski area and the mountain view was very good. Also the exterior was nice. The parking location is very convenient.
The hotel despite the nice outside is quite sloppy and messy inside. The front desk was a mess full of all kinds of stuff and also was mostly unattended and we had to wait 1-2minutes for a person to show up. The people at the end were nice.
The room absolutely horrible. A double room was fitted with additional bunk bed to make it 1 quadruple. But the queen bed was clearly moved from its original headboard location and going in the way of the corridor. The bed very uncomfortable with very old mattresses with a "hole"in the middle due to the likely long service life. The bunk bed was very unstable and looked quite flimsy. In the wall there was a hole from and old outlet never repaired. Also a hook in the wall was partially outside... a quite small thing but really in your face and this shows the really poor care for maintenance of this hotel. Also the bathroom were super old and basic design and a couple of floor tiles were clearly cracked and not replaced.
We spent just one night here for a quick weekend but I would never imagine to stay here for a week! I would definitely expect better for a 180 eur/night!

Hotel Derby is a great spot for a ski vacation for 1 or 2 nights if you just need a roof above your head for the night. It is a bit oldish but price wise great. It is close to the ski lifts. Parking was convenient. The lady at the reception at check in was super friendly :). The lady at the restaurant next morning was extrermely rude :( There are ski rental possibilities nearby, we recommend Larino Sport, excellent service.
It is a bit noisy.

The hotel description is mentioning a sauna which apparently is closed for more than two years now but the host has "omitted" to mention it. The breakfast was basic: one type of bread, cheese and salami, strictly one croissant, and if you were lucky, boiled egg. The "double bed" was two uncomfortable single beds put together.
The host was rude I mentioned to her the falsely mentioned sauna. Additionally, I have asked for a company invoice which I haven't received up to this day.

Amazing location, wonderful staff, very comfortable beds - it's our second time in Derby and we feel like home! They do not keep the rules, they make everything to meet your needs. Rooms are a little old-fashioned, but very clean, warm and spacious. There is a garage where you could keep all ski equipment and even hot room for the shoes. Dinner at restaurant is not fancy, but it gives a little feeling about local food and the variety is big. Highly recommended!
Couldn't ask for a better

Central location, clean
The lady working on the day I arrived was the most rude ever. The electricity in my room 111 kept tripping out and she blamed me for leaving the bathroom light on too long and when it tripped another 10 times in the evening when the bathroom light wasn’t on she said there was nothing she could do and I would just have to have no electric.
Who ever designed the room made a big mistake, there are glass doors onto a patio and these doors have air tight blackout shutters on them so to get any ventilation, there is no aircon, you need to leave the patio doors open which lets all the bugs in. There is no separate window.
Take your chances elsewhere
