About this house rental
This classic 70's style Lake House, set on the edge of Lake Okareka is somewhere to escape for a few quiet days of tranquility. This property also features on my 2 Lakes Holiday Rental site if your preference is to deal directly without fees.
Sit on the deck and just watch the ducks and pukeko's. Maybe take a quiet paddle in the kayaks across the lake to the beach or troll a lure to catch a trout. You will need your own tackle and a licence of course! Fishing in this lake is known for being very productive! Or maybe you could take a walk along one of Rotorua's award winning walkways around the edge of the lake and farm perimeter. Lucy Playne one of the farm owners runs a top class horse trekking business on the adjacent farm and if thats you and you want to look across the region the views from up top on the farm are nothing less than sensational. Call Lucy on 07 3628185 or for the website look up Horse Trekking Lake Okareka. The very popular sport of biking today in and around Rotorua offers up to 100 kilometres of trails through forestry tracks, the trail heading to Taupo or simply around the lakes. It really is a bikers paradise! The world mountain bike champs known as Crankworx are being staged in Rotorua in March.
Lake Okareka is one of sixteen lakes in the Rotorua District. It is only 11ks to Rotorua central which has abundant restaurants, cafes and shopping but tucked away from the main busy tourist routes, you can enjoy a quiet peaceful environment. Only minutes from the Blue Lake. We have 3 excellent golf courses to choose from and if its hiking the Tarawera Trail alongside Lake Tarawera can take up to 4.5 hours to walk to Hot Water Beach, or 3 to the Champagne Pool at the Wairua Stream before you come to Hot Water beach, and you can arrange to be collected by the Water Taxi on phone 07 3628080.
This house is situated on the lake edge and children are welcome but one has to watch small children close to the lake edge.
Okareka Lake Edge Comfort is fully equipped, just bring your own food.

Highly recommend I am definitely keen to go back we had 8 people. Went out on kayaks provided, pool table and table tennis to keep us entertained in the evenings and a wonderful Sap pool ! Best weekend with walks around the lake and we booked horse riding just down the road. We had a great time !!

Love the spa and view out to the lake

Great property with lots of extras. Weather closed in on our last day but still plenty to do with the pool table, ping pong table and spa pool. Lots of space for the family to spread out. The lake is beautiful with lots of birdlife and you can get amongst it in the kayaks.

Dated home in amazing position on the lake. Clean home. Small lounge/dining on ground floor which is where you would mainly hang out with another lounge upstairs that we didn't really find convenient to use. Kayaks to use, spa pool. Price listed is plus extra guests and plus linen, price was incorrect on listing but has since been updated. Probably not ideal to stay with young kids due to lake frontage. For price of listing needs a bit of work ie dishwasher needs replacement trays, only one scoop of washing powder supplied, pegs all broken little things but just annoying

We find this property works well for a large family holiday.

Neat and tidy. Offered lots of activities aside from the obvious lakeside water attractions. Beaut outdoor area with spa and dining and seating. Had a great time!

Such a great spot to sit and unwind!.
Great outdoor area with views across the lake. Plenty of room for larger groups with separate spaces if thats what you need.
Nice large kitchen with plenty of cooking facilities and even a separate fridge for drinks.
If we were forced to find a negative point about the home we would say the showers arent great at all, but dont let that stop you staying here.

We were a family of 8 plus a baby and this house suited our needs perfectly as it had all that we needed. The location 15mins out of Rotorua on Lake Okatera was sublime. We loved the outlook, the nearby walking track, the bird life and the warm spacious spa. Highly recommended.

Amazing location with beautiful lake views and a well provisioned, warm and comfortable bach. Ideal for multiple families. It’s better than the photos! We had such a peaceful but jam packed stay here, we made good use of the private jetty and kayaks. Highly recommend and will def. Be back!

This place is so beautiful! We debated staying closer to town but so glad we made this choice! Exactly what we needed after a long day! So much space, peace and calm! Yes, it's an older house so there are a few things to work around but it's well worth it! It rained almost the entire time we were there and it was still great. Loved the hot tub and kayaks! Make sure to take the walk around the lake!

Wet weekend, lake right up. Heat pump stopped working in downstream lounge. Dealing with property manger very curt and unpleasant all he cares about is money. The cleaner was lovely. Very expensive for weekend in winter when it's cold and heat pump doesn't work with all extra costs added by property manager.

A perfect house and location for our family for an Easter break. There was plenty of room in the house for the eleven of us. Lots of things to do on the lake and at the property. Also close enough to all the facilities in Rotorua to make easy day trips. Everyone had a relaxing weekend.

Awesome place to get ready for my wedding :)

Sadly we stayed during the cyclone so unable to make the most of the lake and mountain biking, but the house was great for the family as plenty of space and things to do indoors. We had a few good days at the lake when the weather improved.
Few little improvements could be made to the house, such as upstairs shower head isn’t holding up properly, table tennis table was broken, but overall it was a good place to stay. We have stayed here before and would stay again.

Absolutely recommend this property very highly, we were a large family and the house was spacious to accomodate our needs. The location could not be beaten as it was 100% lakefront and very tranquil. We loved the kayaks and put them to great use each day! We would definitely come back to this property again. 🥰
