Acadia View House is a terrific property! The views were amazing. Everyone in our group loved the house. It is very spacious and well equipped. We would rent this house again.

We couldn’t have picked a better house for our first trip to Maine. This house was perfect…beautiful, well-maintained, and spacious. And, the views were amazing! We loved being on the quiet side, but still close enough to enjoy everything that Maine had to offer. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at this property for a week. The home was wonderful for our family of 9 with both adults and children staying. We had a warm week but there were good breezes through the house. It is close to many of the must see sites in the area. Communication with the owners was rapid and helpful. I highly recommend this home for a family stay!

This was our first time to Maine and Spectacular Views did not disappoint!! We had 2 families and 11 people total and had plenty of room. The view of the harbor was beautiful and you could see sunrise every morning from the master bedrooms (upstairs and main). This was close to Acadia NP, Bar Harbor, and everything we wanted to see. We also hiked and went swimming at Echo Lake. I wish we could have stayed longer!! Also, highly recommend the bakery at the end of the street- Emmy’s sweet treats!! Best blueberry pie!!

Our stay was great! We had an awesome time exploring MDI and hanging out in Southwest Harbor.
Staying in SWH was nice because it felt a bit more remote than some parts of the island closer to Bar Harbor but still close enough to all the hikes that we wanted to do.
The house itself is great! Plenty of space for the 7 of us and easily could have fit 2-3 more. The house has space to work and is well equipped to be able to host a nice meal.
One of the highlights of SWH was Harbor Table (a restaurant in town), we highly suggest going for dinner.

Home was amazing! Beautiful view. Very spacious and perfect for our family. Thanks so much!

We had high hope for our stay and this house was everything we hoped for. The house was just as beautiful as the photos if not more so. I guess I'd summarize by saying this was like staying in somone's home where the owners go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Whenever we had questions either Rachel or Jonathan responded promptly. The next time we come back to Southwest Harbor this will definitely be our first choice of where to stay.

We loved our stay! The house was clean, had all the amenities one could need, and the views of the water were spectacular. The remnants of Hurricane Lee impacted our arrival but we were able to work closely with Jonathan and Rachel to ensure the property was safe, accessible, and ready for use. The communication truly was above and beyond! We enjoyed stargazing from the upper deck, and being able to access Acadia/Bar Harbor less than 30 mins from this gorgeous home. I highly recommend staying here!

It was a beautiful house! Close to Acadia and lots of activities within mount desert island. Very clean and a beautiful place to stay. I highly recommend!

We had a great stay in this wonderful home on the quiet side of MDI. Views were amazing from throughout. Kitchen was well-appointed and the game room downstairs was really fun. We spent most of our days out and about, but even if rain had forced us to stay in, we would've had a great time.

This house is such perfection for our family. Second time staying here, location is perfect, view is stunning, there is space for everyone to both gather and to retreat. We loved our week here and would 100% stay again.

Amazing views, lots of stargazing spots. Close to Acadia and Bar Harbor, with easy walk into cute downtown of Southwest Harbor.
Our large group had plenty of room to spread out! Highly recommend!

3rd time staying at Acadia View House - fabulous location, quiet side of the island, easy ~5min walk into town, Southwest Harbor has a great wine store, ice cream, Little Notch Bakery for pizzas and sandwiches. 5 min drive to supermarket. Easy drive to carriage roads and hiking (15-25 minutes depending on where you are headed). House is spacious and very comfortable for two families. Screened in porch is wonderful for long dinners, great room is comfortable and bright all day long.

We had an incredible time at the View House. From the moment we turned into the driveway—such a beautiful approach to the house—we knew we were going to love it. Everything was so comfortable and well considered. We cooked and ate at home a lot, supplemented by plenty of Beal’s lobster and one amazing meal at Peter Trout’s. The kitchen was very well equipped. The week we were there (and pretty much the entire summer leading up to it) was quite overcast and foggy. The views were still gorgeous, and when the sun came out, we were all the more thrilled! We hiked A LOT and the weather was perfect for it. Also swam several times in Echo Lake, from the Bluffs (flat—and slippery!—rocks you can dive off, and less crowded than the beach). Oh, and of course the teens loved the foosball and the boxing bag, and we ALL loved the table shuffleboard. Started every day with a tournament! Loved this house on the Quiet Side and can’t wait to return!

This house is our favorite place to stay of all the trips our family has taken together. The house itself is so well-designed and beautiful; photos simply don't do it or its setting justice. There are places to be together in a large group as well as "away rooms" when someone needs quiet time. The kitchen is well equipped. Everything about it just works for our family of eight--five adults, three kids. Jonathan and Rachel are the best hosts, attentive to all needs and providing everything guests could want. We had a wonderful week in this exceptional house.

This house is incredible! It’s tastefully decorated, spotless, and had everything we needed. The view of the forest and harbor from the living room and dining room is breathtaking! We had 7 adults in our group, so having 5 bathrooms made getting ready stress free. The bedrooms are spacious and have very roomy closets with plenty of hangers. It’s not listed, but there’s a gas fire pit on the balcony which was very cozy to sit around at night. We also enjoyed the shuffleboard and foosball games. It’s located just 20 minutes from Acadia and Bar Harbor. We went to both places several times. Southwest Harbor is a very quaint town and is a 10 minute walk from the house. It has several restaurants, ice cream shop, bakery, gift shop ( very nice tees and sweatshirts), bars, and coffee shop. The night skies are also gorgeous. Turn off gf the fire pit and watch the stars! This house helped make our vacation unforgettable.

Clean, well-kept, modern home with excellent views of the water and stars, located on the quiet side of MDI. Far enough away from the cruise ships but close enough to access all things in Bar Harbor & Acadia. Held a small gathering for family members aged 6-45, and everyone had a wonderful, authentic and memorable experience. Highlights were Cadillac mountain on a clear day, Beehive Trail on a foggy day (challenging), Jordan Pond, Thurston's Lobster Pound, and Lulu's Lobster Boat.

This a fantastic place to stay. Great location, quiet neighborhood, and a picturesque view. We had two families together with 5 teen girls. The girls loved the basement for entertainment and the amazing front room for puzzles and reading. Absolutely worth the money.

The photos on line don’t do the views justice. Convenient location. To town and Arcadia National Park. The balconies provided a great place to watch the sunrise.
The home is well situated for multiple couples and families with children.

We loved our weekend, perfect spot for a reunion. Great views, beautiful house, easy access to kayaking, biking, and hiking. Very well-appointed house and wonderful communication with the owners.

The house was perfect, and perfectly located. We are already planning for a time when we might return. We were a small group and the house was so big we know we’d have been comfortable with a group far larger. Plus, the house is on the pleasant side of MDI, and you can get everything you need within ten minutes. My son and I are celiac and we were so happy to know we could eat really well in the whole area and especially Southwest Harbor.
We loved getting drinks and snacks at Harry’s Bar. They make a killer martini and chocolate milk for the littles.

Repeat visit to Acadia view house with our two kids now 7/5. Plenty of room, love the quiet side of the island. Would come back.

We had a lovely stay at Acadia House! The house is just like the pictures - spacious and open with a beautiful view. It has lots of room for people to hang out and it is very comfortable. Being able to walk to Southwest Harbor was a real treat for all of us. Jonathan and Rachel could not have been easier or more pleasant to deal with. We had a wonderful stay and we will definitely return.

From the moment we arrived, we were delighted by this home. The massive windows of the living room and dining room brought the outdoors inside, the several outdoor decks provided great conversation areas and the screened in dining porch was perfect for large family dinners. The variety of indoor spaces made it easy for kids to play while others worked (even on vacation 🙁). The gym and the many toys and games for kids of all ages were also greatly appreciated.
And, finally, the location offering easy access to Southwest Harbor, Echo Lake Beach and our favorite swimming hole in Somesville contributed to a great week on the Quiet Side.

Magical
The first thing I noticed was how quiet it was there. Rustling leaves was all you could hear. Then the view. Spectacular. Then the house. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s much bigger than it looks, more open, and perfectly designed. You can have three different families there and all have wonderful rooms to convene in and private places to retreat in the evening. It’s obvious that the owners use it because there is no detail that’s overlooked. And it’s maintained impeccably. It’s perfect. We will rent it again.

Awesome property
Our family of nine, ages ten to seventy, had a great time staying here. There's lots of room inside for family group activities or to find that perfect little quiet corner to read. The view is impressive. The owners have pretty much thought of everything. We loved the location on the quieter side of the island , just a short walk into town. We all wish we could have stayed longer and can't wait to come back.

Incredible House and Views
I stayed at the property with a group of eight for three nights. The property was even better than pictured! There was more than enough room for everyone and the views from the common areas and many of the bedrooms were spectacular. It was also conveniently located--a short walk to town and a twenty minute drive to several popular hiking trails. I would highly recommend this property. Thank you!

Amazing views
This place is almost perfect! for real this place is close to everything yet we felt neighbors were miles away. It rained for 2 days and we wanted to watch some football while we enjoyed the views. We wish the main living area had a tv. We get it why it doesn't but that is the only thing our group said could be improved. The Host was great and everything went smooth. Thanks again.

Tranquility on MDI
My wife and I loved every minute of our stay! The house is outstanding. The views are breathtaking. The property is secluded enough to find peace when you want it, but its proximity to town, grocery shopping, and restaurants is perfect for outings. The house also has all the modern amenities you could want for entertainment: dedicated spaces for games, puzzles, a movie room, a well stocked and spacious kitchen, a fantastic grill, and outdoor dining spaces -- we could not have asked for more! We highly recommend this property to anyone and we would love to visit again. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.

Scenic, spacious, and serene.
Within moments of walking inside multiple guests said "this is great, can we stay again next year?" and they weren't wrong. The Acadia View House is spacious, has plenty of activities, ideally-located, modern, and beautiful. The house is ideal for large groups as there are plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, three small porches, two dining tables (one screened-in outdoors), multiple areas for people to congregate or get away on their own, and has most amenities one would want in a home.
The only downsides to this place are minor nitpicks: somewhat uncomfortable beds, poor soundproofing (kitchen doors are easy to slam and aren't equipped with anything to minimize impact, a person snoring or a conversation on the main level can be easily heard on the others) - if one person gets up, the rest of the guests won't be far behind, a confusing lightswitch and fireplace situation (we never did figure out how to turn it on) and a poorly-organized kitchen that seems to be lacking many utilities one might expect in a Maine kitchen.

Scenic home in Southwest Acadia
Amazing views from the home. Happened to be there at the right time, where we not only enjoyed the harbor view, many beautiful sunrises, and starry nights, but also literally saw changing foliage before our eyes. The home was lovely as described, well stocked, quiet/private but close enough to drive to all parts of Acadia for exploration. Easy to communicate with management and owners. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to return again!

One of the best in Southwest Harbour
The house was beautiful , exactly as pictured on the website. The kitchen was well stocked for our party of 8 adults . The location was a quick walk to downtown, yet we were surrounded by woods. We had breathtaking views of the sunrise over the ocean. There were games, books and puzzles to keep us occupied during downtime. I would highly recommend this property and hope that we will be able to return in the future.

Incredible Stay!
This property was everything we could have wanted and more! The views were spectacular, and watching the sunrise and sunset from the second-floor deck was incredibly memorable. This was a perfect home base to our hikes in Acadia, and a short 10-minute walk from downtown Southwest Harbor. Communication was prompt and the hosts were welcoming — we loved our stay!

Wow Factor
Stunning views within a spacious house! Perfect for our group of seven adults. Lots of space for everyone. Highlights: stargazing from one of several balconies, as well as watching the sunrise. Dinner at Cafe Drydock, pastries from Little Notch Bakery, all in town. The walk to town is a convenient and a little challengingly steep hike.
The ferry from Southwest Harbor to Little Cranberry, Isleford, made for a good day. Wish we had brought bug spray for mosquitos! Also, didn't know that you need a reservation to eat at the Islesford Dock Restaurant. They let us sit at the bar with coffee and tea, nonetheless. A passenger on the ferry extolled the restaurant's delicious berry crumble.
Owners of this beautiful house were extremely easy to communicate with and helpful. All in all, a perfect trip and a dream rental!

Beautiful house, amazing views
The house offers breathtaking views of the harbor, beautiful architecture and great layout allowing larger groups to spend time together in large common spaces, break up into smaller groups in the two living rooms, and also have privacy in the spread out bedrooms and decks. The area around the house is absolutely beautiful as well. We hope to come back.
