We stayed for 2 nights with our 2 toddlers, the location was very convenient with easy access to hotel restaurants, the onsen and of course the snowpark (our room looked right into the snow play area too). The staff were helpful arranging our taxi hires and we had good food at the hotel restaurants. It's not a luxury hotel, but the facilities are clean, conveniently located next to Princes Outlets (this came in handy when we had a day of rain and needed to find something to do). The onsen is very nice, I took my daughter there and we had a fun experience. Worth visiting when you're staying at the hotel.
The room sizes are comfortable, but I think it's a bit odd they would not provide a cot for babies above 12 months. We have a 1.5 yo and she still sleeps in a cot, but they said for safety reasons they weren't able to. This was a bit odd...

The primary aspect that appealed to me was the convenient proximity to both the train station and outlet; however, regrettably, my overall experience was suboptimal when making a reservation through Booking.com.
The staff
demonstrated a notable lack of friendliness. While I recognize that Japan may face challenges in English communication, the level of unprofessionalism observed exceeded acceptable standards for the hotel service industry. Notably, the conduct of Mr. K. Suzuki was particularly noteworthy in this regard.
During my stay, I encountered difficulty in locating the hot spring (onsen), prompting me to approach the reception. Regrettably, Mr. K. Suzuki's response was marked by an unfriendly facial expression and a discourteous tone, instructing us to exit the premises and navigate through the low-temperature outdoor surroundings to access the hot spring. Upon our return, another staff member informed us of a connecting pathway to our rooms. This leaves me perplexed, as I fail to comprehend why the personnel recruited by the hotel were seemingly unaware of the existence of a connecting route to the hot spring.
Value of money
he value for money was severely lacking, with the rooms displaying pronounced signs of aging and emanating an unpleasant odor, notably persistent in the bathroom where the scent of urine prevailed. The bed cushions showed significant wear, reaching a point of ineffectiveness and, in certain instances, nearing expiration. The central area of the bed presented an uneven surface, resembling a puddle, thereby significantly compromising the overall comfort and functionality of the sleeping arrangements. Given the price of the hotel, one would reasonably expect at least a standard level of accommodation, rather than the observed very poor conditions. This serves as a red flag for prospective visitors, signaling a warning against choosing this establishment.

Check in process too slow,
Need to charge parking.

Perfect location, just next to JR train station, able to put luggage with conceige as we arrive. Within walking distance to the Prince Outlet for shopping and able to walk over to the old town to explore.
Having to pay for onsen at the hotel. Very dark at night after sunset when we have to walk up to our cabin. Would be better if there was ample lighting along the way. The restaurants onsite are expensive.
4.2
The hotel is in close proximity to the Karuizawa Prince Shopping Centre and the JR Karuizawa Station so getting around was a breeze, especially with the free shuttle service. The room is spacious and the bathroom is very well equipped with all necessary toiletries.
The airflow in the room could be improved so it would feel less stuffy.

Located right next to the sky lifts and the equipment rental shops as well as the premium outlet, this is the hotel to stay if you come to Karuizawa for skiing and shopping. Found it extremely convenient that the renral shops allow you to charge the bill to your room.
Breakfast reservation at your desired time was pretty hard to make after checking in because popular timing like 7-9am was fully booked, so suggest booking a seat at breakfast before you arrive.

Good sized cabins are surrounded by forest, nice and quiet most of the time. Walking distance to outlet, restaurants and a train station. Nice complimentary toiletries almost make it feel like a glamping experience (if it wasn’t for the list of negatives…).
Cabins are aged, need repainting and have an array of not exactly pleasant smells. Despite the daily visits of cleaning staff, it doesn’t feel clean (dusty A/C units, spiderwebs in corners, dirty windows, window nets, curtains etc.), which ruins the potential for a glamping experience. It really felt like a small maintenance & thorough cleaning could make all the difference!
The description on booking.com mentions a kitchenette - unfortunately, this is misleading (there is a fridge, sink and a kettle) and we were disappointed, as we planned to cook meals for our baby.
If you’re above 180cm tall, you will likely painfully bump your head, as the doorways in the cabin have low clearance.
