Location
Over sold on booking.com photos. Very basic room. Blocked toilet.

Very good location. 3mins walk from main road, so it was very close but still nice and quiet. Staff very friendly. Very clean. Fan rather than AC.
Perhaps noise of people from other cabins walking around on phones (since no windows only shutters).

- Good located
- Very friendly staff
- Could check in earlier
- Nice garden
- Was not the cleanest (had hairs of different people in the room and in the bed
- no real windows but mosquito gitter, due to this is was quite loud / not the highest amount of privacy
- I would have loved more possibilities to charge your phone

walking distance to main areas
It was kind of pricey for what ir offered.

Pretty relax and very good customer service

The staff was very friendly and even helped us exchanging money when the local exchange office ran out of dollars. The location is relatively quiet even though it’s just one block away from the vibrant town center.
The accommodations are properly ventilated which eliminated the need for airconditioning. They were clean though slightly outdated.
We had bats in our room when we came back from diner before the first night. Although it was quite scary, the staff helped us immediately and offered us a different room. This room room did however not have the double bed and terrace we booked.
Both rooms had swings in the internet quality in the rooms. We sometimes were forced to sit at the reception to have a proper connection.

Location was very good, close to the shops, market, locals, beach.
No intimacy. You could hear everything what was happening next door.
The kitchen was not open all the time. In the morning we could,t make the breakfast because we were not able to reach the food in the fridge.

location was only reason I settled for this place. shower had hot water, which is most second most important thing to me
mosquitos, net useless, dirty/dark rooms

Located centrally within Puerto Viejo so everything is in walking distance to restaurants, supermarkets etc. Good air flow in the rooms with mosquito nets.

Location - Right in the middle of Puerto Viejo.
We found a dead lizard in the floor of the bedroom, a cockroach inside the mosquito net, an spider in the toilet.. While it is understandable to find wildlife in Costa Rica, there was too many animals inside the room as it is not well isolated. It was not cheap at all to get this experience, but I recommend to pay some more and avoid this place (we were heavily bitten by mosquitos, much more than in any other lodge in Costa Rica).
On top, staff was not helpful at all, they forgot to bring us towels and kept our change, and did not clean the room the days we were there..

It had a very good location, close to the town center and beach, several 'sodas' around, where you can eat. The rooms are around a lush, tropical garden. The room is quite basic, with a fan and mosquito nets, though it did not stop the mosquitos biting us :). There is a nice breakfast area, we liked the nice Caribbean colours everywhere. Cute dog. Rooms nicely cleaned every day. Parking lot for the cars. We really liked the Caribbean side of CR, our favourite was Punta Uva and Playa Cocles with huge waves. Bread and Chocolate is a nice breakfast place nearby.
Be prepared for the mosqito bites. You can not hang your wet clothes anywhere.

The location is great, actually on a quiet side street. The bed with mosquito net was very comfortable and the room was large with plenty of space, even in the bathroom. The laundry service is great and super fast.
We had the first room at the front. Of course, all the other guests come by at all times of the day and night and it's loud. And reduces privacy. The kitchen is a bit small and there is little crockery and cutlery. Fortunately, not all guests made breakfast at the same time, otherwise it would have been too short.

Helpful staff, great location to town
Beds a little uncomfortable
9.0 / 10.0
Location, value for money, comfortable bed, hammock outside of our room, sage older gent giving us lots of information and history of the local area. The place was nicer than the photos on Booking.com
All the plug sockets in our room were the old 2 prong style.

The location is quite convenient and the check-in was quick and pleasant. Sufficient for one night and the bathroom was clean.
The beds were not very comfortable. One mattress was so old and worn out that you literally sank in and the other one was so hard it felt like it wasn't even a mattress but rather the hard topper that goes beneath.
The area does have a lot of mosquito so it would have been nice if the room would have better mosquito nets or would have new ones in front of the windows.

I really loved this place. The position is amazing, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff (Mirsa) was super sweet and helpful. Highly recommended!

I would recommend this place any time, the only thing why I wouldn’t recommend it is that there will be free rooms to come back too :) It’s really a great place to stay!
Everyone is very friendly and helpful if you need anything.
The rooms were very clean and smelled good (this is unfortunately not common at every place).
The mosquitonets have some holes but it didn’t affect me when sleeping surrounded by them. Sometimes it can be a bit noisy, but this is depending on the other guests. Its thin wooden walls (like everywhere in Costa Rica) so if you are a very sound sensitive person its probably good to get earplugs for your whole travel.
Outside of your room there’s a hammock and a table and you can chill on rainy days or in the evening.
The shared kitchen provides everything you need and is very clean as well.
I would come back anytime!

Great location, away from the chaos of the main street so it's nice and quiet but literally a block away. Nice and clean too
