The property has amazing views, and is situated on a slight hill. There is a walkway that takes you down the back to a private beach. There is also a town with groceries, and food stops that are delicious, and a swimmable bay with lifeguards posted. The beach at the back is slightly steep and through a little forest area and stream, but with the right shoes like runners it’s easy. We did it with a 22month baby in a front carrier. Our toddler loved the beach as it is shallow and calm. We also loved the fruit trees on the property: Avocados, mangos, lemon, and lime trees. There is a stick left to help you pick the fruit. Our toddler enjoyed running through the rock/grass garden and playing with the numerous wind chimes. The Hosts were simply amazing, kind, and generous. They are available to help with any inquiries, and are always ready to offer a helping hand. We would happily return for another visit.

The property and room was exceptionally well maintained and clean. We had an issue which was handled immediately with professionality and extreme care.
The studio we stayed in was spacious, and decorated nicely with all the modern conveniences.
The view of the beach from the deck outside of our studio was absolutely beautiful.
I would recommend Castara Inn to anyone who is looking for a comfortable and awesome place to stay in Tobago.
There was nothing not to like.

The total experience especially the staff paying attention to details and offering a family like atmostphere
There can be no complaints and there is noting to dislike

Location was good but unless you’re very fit you really need a car to get up from the local beach & to get to the restaurants in the evening. It did have a lovely view from the balcony & there were plenty of birds. Shared garden & very steep path to local beach.
There were 4 of us & only 2 bath towels but a quick message to Rhonda & this was soon sorted & we were given beach towels to use too.
The property looked a little jaded & needed a few things fixing & updating but it was clean.

I honestly cannot rate Castara Inn highly enough! I feel like this place is a real hidden gem. Rhonda could not have been nicer and made everything so easy and painless. Rhonda organised a lovely surprise birthday message on the bed with dried petals for my 40th and also upgraded our room to a Sea View option as it was vacant. And my what a view that was! Absolutely stunning. The outdoor space and facilities that came with the room were super impressive. Loved the apartment itself - very comfortable bed and what a bathroom! There is also a lovely path/ hike down to a secret little deserted beach from directly outside the property. This was a lovely start to our day one morning. If I was back in Castara, I would 100% stay in Castara Inn again as my first choice. I get that it is a bit further of a walk up a very steep hill! But we rented a car (through Taylor's rental) while in Castara, and this made getting around A LOT easier. I would go with the car and Castara Inn option over staying down the road in other more expensive places just down the hill.

Location is perfect - at the edge of the rainforest with a beautiful view out over the sea. Loads of wildlife on your doorstep - quite literally. The Inn is small and quiet and the owner Rhonda is lovely and extremely helpful and keen to see her guests have a good time. The room we had was fully equipped, had a comfortable bed and nice hot shower. There’s also a possibility to use the BBQ. Castara is likewise quiet with a superb beach with excellent facilities like changing rooms and toilets on the beach for the princely sum of 1TTD per day! You can hire 2 Sun loungers and umbrella for 100 TTD from the guys in the life guard tower. Locals and fellow tourists all friendly. Eat at Ducks for cheap tasty home-cooked lunch and takeaways. There’s a supermarket in the town sells most things but not a great variety.
As commented by others it’s a fairly steep walk uphill to get back from the town walking in the road but absolutely no problem if you are fit.

Wonderfully clean and well stroked space! The private beach is a bit of an adventure to get to AND totally worth it. Castara's hot spots (waterfall, beach, restaurants, etc) are a bit easier to get to by car (walking is uphill to return) but the location is still great. Looking forward to returning!

Alles. Die Lage, der gepflegte Garten, die Sicht aufs Meer inkl. der natürliche sound des Meeres, wie gesagt einfach ALLES.
Die Gastgeber sind sehr hilfsbereit und reagieren super schnell auf Mitteilungen.

Everything that you need for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable. Also met some lovely people!
As a 76year old I found the hike up the hill quite a challenge but I managed it and I think I’ll be fitter as a result!

Absolutely breathtaking setting, huge balcony on same level as coconut, mango and avocado trees. Also very efficient air conditioning, spacious bathroom and well-equipped kitchen. Rhonda and Jemlyn were very helpful and responded quickly to every query.
Although not far from Castara village, the walk back uphill is still significant particularly in the heat and humidity. I was staying with my sister, and did not realise until we arrived that the next door apartment was connected by a thin door. We were very pleased to have the use of both apartments but if the other one had been occupied we would have had to share the balcony and might have felt a bit cramped.

Beautiful location!! Nice place to go if you just want to chill and relax. Mangos GALORE!! ALL THE MANGOS YOU CAN EAT!!😃😃 The view was absolutely stunning. I tend to choose places to unwind as I work long hours and need to just unwind and this definitely fits the bill. Fresh fish and breadfruit on the beach, watching the fishermen bring in the nets, lounging under a palm tree all day, perfect!
That climb up that hill from Castara Bay beach was rough but it helped work off the calories from all those mangoes

Gorgeous room with stunning views, very helpful staff who provided lots of tips and local contacts for taxi hire and car rental. Close to Castara village with lots of eateries and a beautiful beach. Would definitely go back!

the property was very comfortable with modern facilities. bed were very comfortable. The property owners Marlon and Rhonda where amazing with the best hospitality.
the property is minutes from the beach which is a small fishing town and the locals are very friendly and welcoming.
there’s a lot of shops and amenities including a ATM machine. I highly recommend this property and I’ve already arranged to come back next year with my partner.
the only thing in didn’t like climbing that really long steep hill back to the property lol, but as long as you’re fit and able it’s not a problem, this can be added to your daily workout 😂

Lovely, small inn on a headland overlooking the coast and ocean on the north coast of Tobago. Big rooms with fully equipped kitchen area, really comfortable bed, really efficient, though not overly noisy, air con...and just such a brilliant bathroom, fantastic shower with a seating area. The grounds are really beautiful, with mango trees, flowers and birds, and you can relax in a hammock to watch the sun go down in air scented with jasmine. The village, with 2 beaches, bars, restaurants and a supermarket is a mere 5 minute stroll downhill....though, obviously, uphill on the way back, in 30° heat...but there are plenty of places to sit and rest, and take in the view.
All in all, the Castara Inn is one of those places I hesitated to write a review of, as I just loved it, and, like all hidden gems, they only stay so lovely because they are..well...hidden. Its a really small place, and I would go back there in a heartbeat...I just hope someone else hasn't booked my room....🥰😁

WARNING: You won't want to leave this slice of paradise! The studio was well equipped, comfortable, and had AMAZING views. The staff were welcoming and treated me more like family than "another guest." They even joined me to celebrate my birthday! I honestly couldn't imagine a better experience and I hope to be back soon! Highly recommend!

The unit was a good size, with a very well appointed kitchenette. Absolutely huge wetroom with a decent shower, and plenty of space to hang wet towels / clothes etc.
Rhonda was so welcoming, and sent me lots of helpful information to help make my stay interesting. The gardens are full of birds, including motmots, and I was able to watch a pair of agoutis in the grounds below. I didn't attempt the steep path to the beach as I was on my own so couldn't risk an accident. The views are lovely.
It's less than a 10min walk into the village where there are restaurants and a couple of bars. Little Bay has the best bar for sitting watching the sea, and it even has stingrays swimming along the shoreline. You can snorkel off the beach (with a stingray if you're lucky!) and then cool off with a cocktail.
I would have preferred being a little closer to the village, but the walk up the hill wasn't that bad to be fair.

Great apartment with everything we needed. So glad we got the car as movement about made it so much easier - however this is due to the island layout rather than the property. Rooms are good sizes, balcony has fantastic views. The hike to the secluded bay is full of adventure.

I liked the way I was met by persons and place itself. I enjoyed peace and the possibility for relaxation and meditation. I was receiving special care every day of my stay.

The perfect location with beautiful view, value for money, sufficient kitchenette, wonderful hospitality from the hosts and close access to beach and food places. There are so many birds, fruits and herbs on the beautiful premises. This is the perfect vacation spot for us and we will be back !

Marlon couldn’t do more to help and the location was amazing. Also kept us informed all the way through

Definitely a must stay! This little spot is a gem and you can’t beat that view!!! 😍
Damn that hill gets steep when you’ve walked it a few times 😂

The communication with the staff and the work the did before we got there to organize for our car rental company to meet us at the port in Scarborough and drive us to the Inn was above and beyond. They also prepared an excellent information email that gave you a lot of insights into eating, beaches and activities to try while you stayed at the Inn.
They did an excellent job of reaching out every now and again to make sure we had everything to make our stay perfect, but gave us enough space to enjoy the setting without being bothered.
The location to the village and nearby beaches was awesome, and Castara is the perfect location to get immersed in the local culture without the hassle that you might receive in other parts of Tobago like Pigeon point.
The write-up promised easy access to a private bay, but while the staff had done an excellent job at maintaining a path, it turned out that it was a steep and challenging descent and climb. Maybe for younger souls, but for us it was good to complete it once, but not something I would have tried to visit a 2nd time.

Its like the entry door to paradies...fishing village Castara at walking distance, very nice people, outstanding view towards the sea and the forrest, especially the sunset is awesome. Bird-watching during breakfast included. Rooms are very clean at perfect for our needs. Castara itself a great place as a starting point to discover the beauty of Tobago.

Scenic view, peaceful & relaxing.
Beautiful sunset. Variety of birds and friendly visitor Mr. Gootie. The property is very clean and private.

The view from the patio was tranquil and relaxing. We watched to Motmot that flew to its favorite branch each morning. We liked the town, the restraunts, and their owners and staff.

What a location and what a view! Very comfortable studio apartment on the upper floor with large terrace and great shower room. Marlon warned us that we might hear the people in the next room (connected by a locked internal door with little soundproofing ) but our neighbours were very quiet and considerate, so there was no problem. We’d stay again in a heartbeat, thank you Marlon for your hospitality.

The staff was very kind and the accessibility of the landlords was given at any time.
The whole apartment was great, perfect to enjoy a sweet time. The quite big, tasteful furnished bathroom gave us even Spa vibes. The seaview from the terrace was amazing, perfect for morning coffee, reading or relaxing after beach time.

Marlon, the manager was onsite and available and went over and above the call of duty to ensure our stay was pleasant and met our personal needs. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to others - basic, simple, gorgeous place and easy to get to all the main attractions. The personal touches were superb!
