About this cottage rental
Binny Cottage is a unique adjoining of 2 traditional fisherman's cottages offering cosy yet spacious accommodation in the popular fishing village of Pittenweem. Beautifully restored by the National Trust the cottage is situated opposite St Fillans Cave (Pittenweem means "Place of the Caves" derived from Pictish and Scottish Gaelic). It is just a few steps from the working harbour; currently the most active of the fishing ports in the East Neuk coast of Fife, 20 minutes from St Andrews.
Scotland's East Neuk of Fife coast is an ideal holiday destination renowned for its gorgeous beaches, coastal walks, quaint fishing villages, world class golf and delicious local food. The village offers excellent local amenities including shops, village store, cafes and galleries.
The cottage is much photographed by visitors to the area and is situated in Cove Wynd; one of the prettiest Wynds in Pittenweem. The white house with red roof illustrates perfectly the classic East Neuk building style.
Set over 3 floors, the upper level offers delightful views from the bedrooms of the Firth of Forth and the Lothian coast beyond as well as the rooftops of Pittenweem.
Sleeping up to 8 people, it is ideal for families or for groups of friends as a relaxing holiday base. A perfect location to come and rest, unwind and to experience the stunning coastal scenery . Binny Cottage has a true home from home feel and offers;

This is a lovely property, very serene with lots of light, a gorgeous garden, and stunning views from the upper floors. I needed someplace that felt quiet and private but not isolated and this totally fit the bill… it was right in town but tucked away on a steep, narrow lane that only allows for foot traffic.
If anyone in your party has mobility issues, this property probably isn’t right - you have to walk yourself and your luggage up the lane with has some stairs as well, and the house itself is on three floors. For me it was absolutely perfect, and it would be great for a larger party as it has three lovely bedrooms and two full baths, and the kitchen is large with a big table and there is lovely outdoor furniture as well.
The hosts were wonderful, very communicative and helpful. All in all, a very well run property in a beautiful setting. I felt very lucky to have stayed there.

Beautiful property, comfortable beds, perfect location, beautiful garden. All perfect, no complaints (only thing to note and people could be made aware of is had children there once and when back door and front door open at same it’s a bit of a wind tunnel, need to prop front door open otherwise it slams and it’s heavy and child nearly got caught - just useful to be aware of it!)
Thanks so much for a lovely holiday!

An interesting, comfortable cottage that was well equipped with appliances and furnishings for our visit. The patio and back yard area was very nice which was enjoyed by all. The property was as represented as expected.
Thank you!

Idyllic is the word - Pittenweem is a lovely little fishing village and a great base for wider travel, and this house is just perfect - really well presented, large enough that you aren't all tripping over each other and very quiet. Sam is a terrific host too.

Cozy seaside cottage near harbor with excellent communication and recommendations from host. All of our needs and comforts were satisfied. We would most DEFINITELY stay again and recommend to family and friends! We enjoyed coastal walks, the wood stove/sitting room, BIG kitchen, back garden, and space for everyone. The Dory Bistro was excellent! And I especially liked the friendly staff at the Coco Tree and the yarn shop.

Spent a few days here mid December to celebrate family birthday.
When we arrived cottage was cosy and warm and the lovely Christmas tree and decorations made it feel like home from home.
The layout suited us perfectly with mum, dad and two kids on top floor with their own bathroom/shower. Myself, hubby and daughter on mid floor with our own shower/toilet.
There was nothing in the spacious kitchen that we could not find.
The garden looked amazing alas in December a bit too chilly to make use of.
All in all a great cottage, to which I would not hesitate to return.

Wonderful property. So lovely it was difficult to leave and explore the magnificent coastline and beautiful village. We got great September weather and Binny Cottage was the perfect place to base ourselves and explore such a picturesque part o& the world. Nice to cosy in at night and play some games in the big comfy living-room too!

The house is in an idyllic location, just above the port of Pittenweem. It is spacious and clean, with a nice garden. Parking in the port was free, but not always easy to find.

Had a brilliant time at this beautiful cottage with my children and grandchildren. It was very spacious, immaculately clean and excellently equipped with everything you could think of. Really geared for families with games, DVD’s Xbox and books The owner was an excellent host and left a generous welcome pack for us and also made sure there was plenty of tea coffee milk etc. They also provided all cleaning materials and there were tons of towels and beach towels. The beds were super comfy too. The grandchildren enjoyed playing in the garden which was south facing so a great wee sun trap. Really nice quiet area just a 1 minute walk from the harbour. Would highly recommend this to anyone thinking of a holiday in Pittenweem. Hope to come again soon

This property was a great find for our group of 5 adults. It is a delightful cottage, beautifully furnished, clean and very comfortable (with newly remodeled bathrooms). It is well located for walks along the coastal path, and also easy access to browse the High Street shops. We also enjoyed the wood burner in the cold February weather. Sam (our host) was very responsive to our questions, also surprised us with some bubbly for our birthday celebrations. Highly recommended!

Beautiful well located and well stocked home. A gift basket was waiting for us on arrival which was a perfect surprise. We were supplied with tons of information on the area and tips. The only thing not mentioned was that it was on three levels and you walk up a hill to get to it. So it might not be perfect for everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed the back yard and the entire town. Our host was extremely responsive to questions.

Ideal home from home for eight!
Two families (4 adults and 4 under-9s) shared this lovely house for three nights in February. We already knew the village but the house - two historic fisherman's cottages joined together - was ideal for exploring nearby, a coastal walk along to Anstruther(famous fish & chip shop) and cosying up playing boardgames in wet weather. The adults enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen, wall art and easy parking, and the kids loved the books, X-box and DVDs!
I contacted the owner beforehand and they were very responsive and helpful. Truly, a lucky find!

Fabulous house in a beautiful location!
Binny Cottage is a beautifully decorated house on 3 levels. Having stayed in many houses over the years this is one of the best. Four great bedrooms, large and comfortable living room and fabulous kitchen. It has everything you need for a wonderful holiday. The Fife Coast is rugged and stunning. Lots of places to walk to and explore. Easy journey to Edinburgh or St Andrew’s. A great base to explore the east coast.

Fantastic cottage, highly recomended
One of the loveliest and best equipped cottages we've stayed in. It's fantastically well kitted out, there's literally nothing you could think of that the cottage doesn't have and all to a really high quality. Beautifully decorated and designed, there's so much space and yet it's also super-cosy at the same time. Sam's communications were excellent too. We loved every minute of our four days, even when the weather was rubbish and wish we could have stayed for a week. Lastly, make sure you eat at the Dory Bistro if you can - the food is superb (and you might even see them picking their herbs and vegetables for dinner in the garden next door to the cottage!).

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location
This lovely cottage has been very well furnished and equipped - very comfortable beds!
This was our second stay out of season and the weather was truly awful at times, but the house was welcoming and cosy to come back to, especially the lounge with it's wood burning stove. Sunday was sunny though, and we managed a walk along the beautiful beach at Elie. Hopefully our next stay will be during the summer months!

Lovely coastal cottage
The cottage suited our needs and had everything we needed for a weeks holiday over the Christmas period. It was beautifully decorated so we felt the Christmas spirit and cosy and warm. Pittenweem is a gorgeous coastal village that we enjoyed exploring and is centrally located along the Fife Coastal Path. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Comfortable New Year stay
We had a lovely warm and comfortable 5 nights over New Year. We found the cottage very clean and welcome after a busy Christmas.
Binny Cottage is beautifully presented and has a lovely garden which although we didn't use it this time would be a real asset in warmer temperatures.
Lovely living room and the beds are most comfortable with luxurious bedlinen.
We know this area quite well but staying in Pittenweem was very special.
An unexpected highlight was that we had a clear view of Edinburgh 's firework display at Hogmanay across the water. We would definitely recommend Binny Cottage.

Superlative rental
As others have written this is a wonderful property in a great location. Close, free parking which is no easy feat in Scotland. Lots of space for our family. As photos show dining room table is in kitchen, probably the only negative. Highly recommended.

Wonderful home in a quaint fishing village
Had a wonderful time at Binny Cottage. The house was spotless and very well equipped , the largest selection of DVD’s I have ever seen in a rental. Sam the owner left us a great “goodies basket” with chocolates and bakery items which was perfect after a long day of traveling from London.
The village of Pittenweem was just as cute as can be and the walk from village to village along the sea is spectacular. We have stayed in many rentals and I can honestly say Binny
Cottage is as good as it gets.
