✤ CABIN WALKTHROUGH ✤
★ MAIN FLOOR LIVING ROOM ★
Entering the spacious foyer, you'll face the massive staircase and the huge picture windows with stunning views of the Smokies, with the Greenbrier Pinnacle front and center. In the living room, with its high cathedral ceilings and large logs, you will find lots of big comfy living furniture facing the stacked stone fireplace in the large spacious room for gathering your whole group. A new 70" flat-screen TV is placed above the log beam mantel.
★ KITCHEN ★
Just off the large living room is a spacious kitchen with all modern appliances: microwave, Vitamix Pro 750 blender, KitchenAid assistant, Cuisinart food processor, double toasters, panini grill, waffle maker, double function coffee machine for drip brewing and Keurig pods, Crock-Pot, etc. The kitchen has basic supplies, including spices and multiple sets of salt and pepper grinders. There are plenty of high-quality plates, dishes, cups, and glasses – even for the largest groups. The beautiful flatware is American-designed and American-made. The kitchen has large counters, as well as a work island with a bar and extra seating. Well-lit and with a practical floor plan for preparing meals and cleaning up, the kitchen is so beautiful you will really enjoy the time you spend there. A second fridge is located downstairs.
★ DINING AREA ★
Adjacent to the kitchen and through the beautifully carved log arch is a large dining area with customizable seating: 10 at one long table, two tables that can seat four each, and five stools at the kitchen island for a total seating capacity of 23 altogether in one room.
★ MAIN FLOOR DECKS ★
There are two large, covered decks just off the kitchen, on either side of the large dining area. One has a large commercial-grade 5-burner Broil King Regal 520 gas grill with plenty of space for meal preparers. The other deck, also covered, has outdoor tables and chairs for those who would like to enjoy their meal outdoors gazing at the Smoky Mountains, as well as rockers to sit and relax.
★ MASTER BEDROOM ★
The master bedroom King suite on the main floor enjoys a splendid view of the mountains, beautiful furnishings, a spacious bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub, a walk-in shower, a large walk-in closet, and a flat-screen TV.
★ UPSTAIRS LOFT AREA ★
At the top of the grand staircase, you realize anew just how impressive the view is from your cabin. The loft area is well-appointed and designed for fun and relaxation. You can watch TV, revel in the spectacular beauty out the windows, recline on the comfy couches (which also offer extra sleeping), or join in a game of pool on the solid wood pool table.
★ UPSTAIRS BEDROOMS ★
Upstairs and to the right are two King bedrooms with two full bathrooms in the hall. Both bedrooms are completely private, with flat-screen TVs. One room enjoys the view of the mountains, while the other faces the woods at the front of the house.
★ THEATER ROOM ★
The lower level houses the theater room. Plenty of seating on sofas and comfy recliners so everyone can see the big screen. New 82" flat-screen TV, 290+ satellite channels, Bluray/DVD player, and a selection of DVDs with our favorite movies. There is also a wet bar with a fridge with an ice maker and microwave for preparing movie snacks and drinks. Window coverings provide darkness for that matinee showing. An Xbox One X with four controllers and a good selection of sports, party, and family games allow for entertainment for everyone. There are also two multi-game arcade machines (placed in the laundry room so they won’t disturb those watching TV) that will provide hours of enjoyment for all players. If needing additional sleeping space, two of the sofas convert to queen beds.
★ LOWER DECK ★
The lower deck is home to an eight-person hot tub with an amazing view of the mountains. What an incredible spot for relaxing with friends or family in your own private tub. The covered deck is optimal for enjoying the hot tub no matter what kind of weather. You'll also find additional rockers as well as full-size and children's picnic tables.
★ THREE DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOMS ★
On one side of the theater room is a master king suite that has a private ensuite bath with a shower tub, a large walk-in closet, and a flat-screen TV.
On the other side of the theater room are two more bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen-size bed with a twin-over-queen bunk bed and a private ensuite shower bath, ideal for a family with two or three children or just a couple. Across the hall is another bedroom with a queen-size bed and twin-over-queen bunk bed with a full-size hall bathroom with a tub shower.
★ LAUNDRY ROOM ★
There is a large laundry room with a commercial-grade washer, dryer, and ironing board for your convenience.
★ THE YARD ★
The large backyard with a lawn hosts a beautiful, custom-built wood fire pit for hours of enjoying just sitting and gazing into the fire. Or maybe your group would like to roast hot dogs and then make smores. We even have pie irons made out of cast iron that you can use to cook directly in the firepit. We provide firewood for guests (please use responsibly). For the children, there is a swing set with a slide in the yard. We also provide guests with a range of lawn games that you'll find in the outdoor storage box: Giant Jenga, Giant 4 in a row, Cornhole, Horseshoes, Washer toss, Tic tac toss, and others.
★ MOUNTAIN STREAM ★
With our cabin, you don’t have to choose between amazing views and relaxing by a mountain brook. We have prepared a walking trail down to our mountain stream, where you will find Adirondack chairs to let you sit in the middle of the serene nature and listen to the soothing sound of running water.
★ THE AREA ★
While we are convinced that you won't want to leave the lodge, it is just a short drive away from Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Smoky Mountain National Park. The Greenbrier section of the Smoky Mountain National Park is just four miles away. This is a lesser-known entrance with many beautiful trails, plenty of parking, a picnic area, a playground, and access to the Pigeon River throughout. Ramsey Cascades is a favorite amongst hikers.
If you would like a workout, just seven miles from this cabin is the beautiful Gatlinburg Community Center – a complex with an indoor swimming pool, basketball court, ping pong, bowling alley, weight room, and showers, with very reasonable fees for access. Also, only five miles away is Mills Park, with a playground for the children and covered picnic tables for your get-togethers.

We’ve been to Big Bear Lodge with our family multiple times. This house is perfect for a large group. Markus & Annie are excellent host. I highly recommend this house or their others. They make sure their homes are in excellent condition and have the amenities you want while on vacation.

These hosts thought of everything to make this a memorable stay. The communication prior to us getting there, to their daily “check in” texts were exceptional! The property was immaculate, great amenities and breathtaking views. Would definitely recommend this to others!

The home was wonderful and the owners attentive. We would definitely stay here again!

Our family had a great time. The cabin was extremely spacious, comfortable, clean, plenty bedrooms/bathrooms to accommodate more than 20 people - that's not a lie. OMG!!
The owner is a great communicator, attentive, gave us all the info necessary to the sorrounding activities, dinning, sports, do's/don'ts.
I highly recommend this cabin to any family needing a great vacation place and a wonderful/fantastic experience.

My family & I stayed to celebrate for New Year’s. It was a large group of 19.
First of all, the cabin is beautiful & spacious! Plenty of space for everyone. Well equipped & super clean. This has been the cleanest rental I have ever stayed at.
The communication was great and right on point. My family and I will definitely be saving this for future travels.

I rented this property for my 14 family members over the Christmas holiday. We cooked, had a fire, played games, and didn’t even leave the property except for groceries for about 4 days. It has beautiful scenery and is quiet, save for the little bit of construction noise nearby. We had a great time.

Wonderful home for large family. From meals to a large space with gaming on the lower level where kiddos can gather to fire pit for roasting marshmallows!!!
Thank you!!

We had 21 family members. There was enough room for everyone. Space everywhere! Beautiful mountain views. Well equipped kitchen. Quick response to all my questions. We were in ahhhhhh! Only compliant, the mattress for the pull outs were very thin. But i highly recommend this Beautiful home.

Excellent experience! Expansive main living space for large group (22 people staying and 2 more just for the day) gathering. Gorgeous views in this mountain location. Beautiful cabin with nice outdoor space. Fire pit was an added bonus!

Absolutely luxurious and stunning cabin. Amazing views. My only feedback is that it is 40 min to Pigeon Forge and about 20+ min to downtown Gatlinburg. Would definitely recommend!

Our family of 14 certainly enjoyed our stay. Markus was attentive and addressed any concerns in an appropriate manner. The view was fabulous, the cabin was spacious and comfortable! We enjoyed a beautiful snowfall, just perfect for our grandchildren. . We hope to rent again in the future.

In spite of the historic frigid temperatures to the Gatlinburg area during Christmas 2022, our NY and FL families joined together with enough Christmas spirit to keep us warm. The spacious cabin more than adequately accommodated our family of 14 and was the perfect mountain location. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas, was immaculately clean, and the kitchen was well appointed with all the appliances, cookware, dinnerware, and serving items. It even has two refrigerators which were needed. Our four chefs did not get in each other’s way while preparing our holiday meals, and the dining area accommodated all of us for a sit-down dinner. There was enough entertainment for our five teenage boys with a billiards table, electronic and board games, in addition to a bit of snow outdoors for these FL kids so no one was bored. The only snafu was that one of the furnaces stopped functioning so we lacked heat temporarily, but the owner Markus was diligent in getting a repairman out and communicated with us constantly. Santa brought the repairman to our door the night of Christmas eve to great cheer. I mention this because Markus went over and beyond to get someone out to us, while so many others in the area were also without heat due to the historic temperatures. We highly recommend the Big Bear Lodge for a large family gathering, and hope that we can return some day.

We are an all adult hiking group from Phoenix and travel all over the U.S. and foreign countries. We spent a week hiking in the Smokies. Big Bear Ridge Lodge was a wonderful cabin for our large group. We especially enjoyed the two living areas, hot tub and well stocked kitchen. A few minor repairs that weren't urgent came up but no property is ever perfect! The Fall colors were amazing and black bear, deer and wild turkeys entertained us when we weren't downtown sampling moonshine, riding the scenic skylift or shopping!

Wonderful place for a guy's retreat. We had several cousins from around the country meet here for a 4-day weekend. The cabin was clean, spacious, and comfortable. It is stocked with virtually everything you would need including towels, and kitchen utensils. The beds were quite comfortable, in fact I ordered the same pillows they had in the main floor master bedroom as I awoke each morning with no pain in my neck.
The views were amazing. The only disappointing thing is that we didn't see any Black Bears.

Big Bear Ridge was a wonderful choice for our family. There were 18 of us. The rooms were spacious, kitchen well supplied. Great water pressure, linens and beds! Lots of space for privacy and for gathering. Deck and outdoor seating worked well. Really was like a home away from home.

Our family booked this home to spend quality time together in a location that was secluded with plenty of room for all 12 of us and this home was perfect for doing just that! We had everything we needed which was important since we would be traveling from NJ and would have limited space to bring everything we needed. The ride up the mountain to the home was a little scary, but considering we are from NJ, we are not use to the step narrow roads with no guardrails. You will definitely need either an AWD or 4x4 vehicle to get you to the home from the main road. Our neighbors actually broke down because their transmission got stuck just as they entered their driveway. The home had so much space and everything you needed to live comfortably for your stay. The views from every deck were breathtaking and where we spent every morning and evening relaxing and taking in the million-dollar view! Our first day there we had encountered a mama bear and 3 cubs. The previous renters accidently placed their trash in the broken trash cage and the mama bear was able to break the cage further to get the trash out. The bears were very comfortable with doing this when we were right on the front porch and front deck. They did not run when we made a ton of noise and even came up on the porch to the front door. To all future renters, please do NOT feed the bears. Feeding them will keep them coming back for more and become to comfortable around people. The bears were amazing, but scary. Markus advised he is having new cages installed. Important not to leave ANY food or trash unattended. If you choose this home for your vacation, you will NOT be disappointed! There is a large grocery store about 20 minutes from the home, liquor store, and dollar general, so no need to bring groceries of alcohol. We visited Dollywood and Pigeon Forge which gave us 2 great days of fun and shopping. We also went horseback riding in Pigeon Forge at the Dude Ranch, but there is a closer riding place at Adventure Park Five Oaks that has horseback riding and ziplining and it's located right on the Parkway. Markus was awesome with making sure we had everything we needed and was very responsive to our questions. The owners definitely take pride in their home and being extraordinary renters to all who rent their home. Our family had one of the best vacations ever and we have Markus and Annie to thank for that!!

What a wonderful place! An heavenly experience. Surpluses all our expectations. The pictures of the profile are good but the contextual grandeur is missing - which only can be experienced if you are at the place.
The place was immaculately decorated and cleaned with every little & big things of home-away-home staying had been taken care of. The surrounding beauty of the place is heavenly. Every hour the skyline and mountain ranges change it's beauty. Even the nights were as starry as possible.
We ere 6 families with ages from 6 to 60. Everyone enjoyed up to the brim and there are some fun things to do for everyone (video games, pool table, BBQ, Star watching, bonfire, bear watching, hot-tub, jet-tub, big-screen movie time or simply rocking in the gigantic balconies - gazing the sky, mountains). Its so spacious we could invite couple of more families. We have clicked millions photos, videos', time-lapse.
The most fun was bear - we were so lucky to see a giant bear roaming around in the backyard and almost gave a selfie pose. (check the insta-posts with handle wanderlust_ss).
Is there any Con - nah! if you planned well. The place is very secluded - no data or phone signal but great wi-fi. Hence download all the maps as offline. Bring every food/drinks etc. whatever you need for your stay. Don't waste time for a grocery trip etc.
The host Markus was super helpful - always available & proactive to make your vacation a memorable one and keep you engaged weeks before.
We went for a waterfall trail, Cades Cove, Downtown Gatlinburg, moonshine tastings etc.

Air conditioner on the top floor did not work by no fault of the property managers. They sent out tech but it needed more than he could do. Property manger took care of us for the inconvenience. Very nice and friendly to work with. Our family really enjoyed the home.

After Christmas Getaway
We've rented cabins in Gatlinburg/ Townsend / Pigeon Forge for 20-plus years and this was without a doubt the best place we've ever stayed. The owners were also the best we've ever dealt with. They were very responsive due to bad weather and power outages before we ever arrived. The rental is super spacious.

My family and I spent the Christmas holidays at BBR and it was BEAUTIFUL 🥰
The cabin was amazing and we had more than enough space for our large family gathering. We have already started talking of doing another gathering at BBR for 2022☺️👍🏽

This cabin exceeded expectations. We had a group of 14 adults and there was plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. The Christmas decorations were wonderful. The kitchen was well-stocked. We parked 6 cars (4 were medium to large SUVs) easily, and could have parked more. The view is absolutely stunning. Check in was a breeze and communication with the property owners was quick and easy. They made sure we were taken care of all weekend! I can’t say enough great things about the cabin! I will say that the mountain road up to the cabin would be tough in the snow unless you have 4x4 or snow tires and are comfortable in the vehicle you’re driving, so keep that in mind when going in the winter. I will 100% keep them in mind for future trips and recommend them to anyone who asks.

Our vacation at the Smoky Mountains was made all the more better by staying at this wonderful log home. It was amazing. The owners sure had it right when they said it was fully equipped. They have everything. The home is absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed just sitting in the large room watching tv while being able to look at the amazing view out of the huge windows. We are not much for cooking but it was so much fun cooking in their kitchen. Gorgeous! We can't say enough about cabin and do plan to come back and stay here. The owners are always there for you if you want to communicate about anything. We would recommend this log home to anyone. My only complaint -- we didn't see a bear out of our window. :) Maybe on our next visit. Bottom line, don't hesitate booking this home. It's awesome. (And the drive up the mountain is like a private scenic trip.)

We had a fun time at this cabin. Kitchen was fully stocked, the place was pristine clean, and most importantly the owners were always checking in to make sure that we had everything that we needed. We will definitely be returning again. This is definitely a gem of a place to stay.

Mountain Paradise
This house is amazing!!! The communication with the host Markus is top notch. We had 3 families in the house and had so much room. The layout of the house allows everyone to have their own space. The views are breathtaking. The house was very clean. We spent our evenings on the back deck and enjoyed the firepit. We even got a visit from a black bear which made our trip!

Our amazing stay

Great family vacation
I have a very large family (8 children, 7 grandchildren, 3 sons in law) 22 of us on this trip and this cabin was prefect in every way. Plenty of room, fun games and beautiful scenery. It’s close to everything as well. And Markus was a fabulous host. Highly recommend this cabin for any family.

Perfect Cabin
Upon inquiring about Big Bear Ridge Lodge in January 2021 (for a July 2021 rental), Markus, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful. He patiently and thoroughly answered all of my questions and was always quick to respond to emails, phone calls or texts. He was also very interested in making our rental experience the best possible! I rented the Big Bear Ridge Lodge in July for a women's adventure trip. Throughout our 10 days at the cabin, we had two groups of 11 women stay and everything about the house was perfect! There was plenty of room--both inside and outside and the setting was beautiful--just what you would expect and I wanted in the Smoky Mountains. Through Markus, I scheduled a mid-stay cleaning and linen change and the housekeeper was also great too! We loved having the outdoor fire pit for s'mores too. All in all, the cabin was perfect. Not only would I stay there again (and I'd love too!) but I'd recommend it for a family/multi-family or getaway cabin. Thank you, Markus!

We just spent 5 of the best days ever. This house is amazing. From the moment you walk in you can feel all the stress leave you as you enjoy the mountain vista that surrounds you. The set up of the house enabled all 6 families (including 14 grandchildren ages 1 1/2 - 19) the room and space to reacquaint and reminisce while giving everyone their privacy when needed. This house is clean and comfortable, definitely a place to unwind and enjoy, we loved it!

Wonderful vacation!
Our vacation at Big Bear Ridge Lodge was wonderful! Our adult kids and 4 grandchildren (16 total) stayed here and there was so much space. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, small appliances, pots and pans, spices, etc., everything you need to cook for a large group. There is plenty of seating for dinner inside and out on the decks. The grill is huge, the hot tub was relaxing and the fire pit had lots of seating also and was perfect for making s’mores! Everyone had fun playing corn hole out back also.
There was an issue with the washer and the owner Markus was quick to respond. He kept in contact and made us feel very welcomed!
There is a grocery store and other shops about 15 mins away.
The drive up to the cabin from the main road is abit steep and windy but paved. It’s so worth it! The views were beautiful! We loved the privacy also.
It was a fun, relaxing vacation, wish we could have stayed longer!
Thanks to Markus and Annie!
