Außergewöhnlich schönes Hotel

Alles war perfekt abgestimmt, es hat an nichts gefehlt. Das gesamte Hotel Areal ist wundervoll eingerichtet, sauber und gepflegt. Man fühlt sich wie in einer Oase der Ruhe, man kann sich voll und ganz entspannen. Die Angestellten sind überaus freundlich und sehr professionell. Das Essen war ebenfalls perfekt.

Wir waren leider nur zwei Nächte. Das nächste Mal würden wir 3-5 Nächte einplanen.

Amazing place, everything is perfect!

This place is exceptional and we are very fussy. The grounds are very nice and large and peaceful. The room was huge and very clean and bright and just a relaxing place to be. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is nice and although outside there were no bug issues so it was very pleasant. The room overlooks the lagoon which is nice as it’s very quiet. The restaurant, bar and pool area overlooks the ocean which was nice and there are many places to sit and relax. The pool was so clean and relaxing. The restaurant area is very bright. The food was very good quality and they catered to making it more spicy upon request which is great as most restaurants in hotels reduce the spice. There was plenty of variety of food and everything was good. The cocktails were very good too. The wine was good. The food is decent price for this type of place. The service from everyone in the hotel was exceptional they were all perfect as they knew what one wanted or needed and they were friendly and helpful but not in your way all the time or over the top like many other places. The wifi worked well. Rhey also organised transport to our next destination. The beach is nice to walk and we don’t generally swim in the beach anyway so this place was perfect for us. The breakfast was yum, particularly the Sri Lankan breakfast. The owner, Nick was also very friendly and clearly put a lot of effort into making sure people are happy. Everything was just perfect and the staff were great which made it so nice and made us not want to leave the property at all for the two days which is not like us at all but this place is very relaxing and a must stay when coming to Sri Lanka.

Truly perfect place to escape

The staff and service were exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble and everything is possible - a yoga mat and googles were easily produced! It really is a beautiful place, the room was just amazing! Little touches that show Nick and his team are truly seeking to provide perfection. We loved that breakfast could be had at any time and was not a buffet but very decent. Menu changed and there was a good selection that was beautifully presented and everything tasted fantastic. The infinty pool is fabulous and one you can actually swim lengths in too... not some silly shape!

It's not considered safe to swim in the sea next to the hotel - but it is a nonetheless a spectacular beach and virtually deserted.

A little piece of luxurious paradise

This is a little piece of paradise and our only wish was that we could have stayed longer. The room, grounds and facilities were immaculate and spacious, with all the little details being taken care of. The staff were attentive and friendly and our individual needs were always thought of. The secluded beach was gorgeous and the pools also great, and the best spa treatments we have had in Sri Lanka. Kalpa and the team made our stay very special.

Very well run and excellent restaurant with a reasonable selection of good wine, given the circumstances (maasive inflation, lack of foreign currency and imports). Any (tiny) issues were swiftly resolved by the owner and management, who constantly strive to provide the very best service. A great stay, thoroughly recommend.

The best hotel we have ever stayed at. Calm, tranquil and unforgettable.

Buckingham Place completely exceeded all expectations which were all ready pretty high after reading the reviews and seeing pictures of the hotel. We had originally planned to stay for two nights, however we returned within 24 hours and stayed for a further two nights. It is beautifully decorated, spacious, clean with stunning gardens, views and an incredible infinity pool. The rooms are equally spacious with exceptional bathrooms. The food was, by far and away, the best food we had during our visit to Sri Lanka. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus were varied, exciting and catered for all dietary requirements. Staff kept you hydrated at all times and frequently provided a complimentary smoothie or other cold drinks. We were always given a glass of water when returning from a walk along the beach. Staff were so attentive and incredibly professional and personal. Nothing was too much trouble and they never missed a thing always pre empt the needs of the guests. Our final mention must go to, not only Gracie and Bella, but the owner Nick who has clearly poured his heart and soul into providing his guests with a unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back and recommending this hotel to everyone we know. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

At home in paradise!

What a fantastic place - a slice of paradise. Staff are fantastic and the owner, Nick, really makes you feel at home. A lovingly crafted place with wonderful art, two great pools and spacious, well-designed rooms. The food is exceptional. Great, friendly atmosphere with all guests clearly relaxed and enjoying themselves. Already considering when we can come back!

Happy, well-appointed seclusion on the beach!

very well appointed rooms (bed is comfy with a great view and the bathroom is gorgeous). It has an airy central space for dining and the pool (+ free towels at the pool). The vibe is very relaxed and the owner and staff really want to go out of their way to make sure you’re happy! There’s also lots of wildlife around to watch and the no children under 5 policy keeps things quiet. And they had soy milk for coffee!!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

the place is pretty secluded and a little hard to find, so if you’re looking for access to a lot, this isn’t for you. That said, in March the turtles lay eggs on the beach outside and you can go see it at night! The food is also on the pricey side for Sri Lanka, but really delicious and authentic.

The Chef made marvellous meals, this is really fine cooking. You can't be disappointed Pool is like central in the hotel and in front of the beach. sun lounge and drinks are available. breakfast as outstanding as the dinner and can be served till noon.

Perfect!

Everything was perfect. Location, beach, pool, staff, room. The outside bathroom was absolutely stunning with a tree growing in it and a circular sunken bath. The team could not have been more friendly and professional. I loved it.

That I could only stay one night. I wish I could have stayed longer. Thank you so much.

Bloody Brilliant!

What a fabulous stay. A slice of uniqueness on the South Coast of Sri Lanka. We would come back to Sri Lanka just to stay here! Excellent rooms, wild coast and a great team of staff. A perfect combination. Well done Buckingham Place.

The Buckingham Place is a magical oasis. The infinity pool looks out over the ocean and the beach is pristine. The staff is excellent, the food is out of this world, the rooms are super comfortable and the Nick the owner is a gem. We only had reserved 2 nights and wish we stayed longer. can’t say enough good things about this hotel. if you’re in Srilanka it’s a must.

magnificent, sensational and completely relaxed

A fantastic stay in this hotel. The atmosphere, the food, the hygiene, the rooms, the pool, the view…everything was magnificent!! Especially the staf was outstanding! in every way they make you feel welcome and their service was dedicated and warm! Big compliments to the kitchen and his staff! Nick, the owner makes his daily round to ensure every guest is being looked after.

Home from home in paradise.

We feel so lucky to have been able to stay here. I believe we were one of the first foreign tourists to stay with the new Covid protocols in place, and I cannot speak highly enough of how well the hotel has equipped itself and how safe we felt. Whilst we were waiting for our first PCR tests to come back (the team stayed on top of getting the results for us and chased to make sure they came back as soon as possible) the team even set us us a lovely, candlelit isolation table on our balcony to eat at, who knew quarantine could be so romantic? On top of this, the food was delicious and the team so friendly and kind. We celebrated both of our birthdays here and a real effort was made to have fun - down to a card signed by every single person and even, upon spotting I was wearing a 70s jumpsuit, playing excellent disco music while we ate. Another bonus to the hotel were the two charismatic resident dogs, Bella and Gracie. Bella especially takes her hosting job seriously, whilst Gracie was good for a cuddle. The main pool is absolutely dreamy, so peaceful, well maintained and a great view. We spotted so many animals and after a few days, started to think of it as 'our' hotel. In addition, we casually took a walk to the beach that spans the hotel without realising we were going to walk into actual paradise. What a sunset spot, and not another person around! If you have been thinking about visiting Sri Lanka now that it has opened up, I'd highly recommend it. Everything was organised and safe, we can't wait to come back!

Not having the chance to meet Nick was the only downside :) Hope to meet you next time, get well soon!
