It was a unique experience and host was very attentive and wanted to ensure we had a great stay. Which we did Thank you
Nothing we loved it
Maybe just update a couple of the planters and remove the dead plants.

wonderful place where the owners really take pride in their business every little detail is taken care of, it was such a memorable New Years Eve, it really made our stay in Mt Gambier really memorable, our only regret was that we could not stay longer
nothing

It's a unique hotel experience with a lot of history. Not only you get to stay in clean rooms, there are shared facilities that are nicely kept. There are also some cute cats roaming around, if you're lucky you might get to pat them. The location is close to the city centre.
Nothing to complain about!

Total environment is better than expected, room is fairly clean and the introducation about the history of the old goal is clear and interesting.

Interesting place for a stopover, easy check in and communication. Nice to let guests to "graffiti" the concrete with chalk like in the prison.

A different experience to the normal accomodation we usually stay in. Loved the history and staying in a real goal cell. Great fun.
Nothing.

The hosts are amazing - so accommodating and helpful. The rooms are so cool and the history of the place can be seen throughout. Excellent shared facilities - with plenty of bathrooms dotted around so regardless of where your room is in the jail you are never far away from one. The chapel were the kitchen and lounge were is a lovely, warm social space and the gardens are lovely in summer I am certain.
It was strange to have a toilet in the room with no door, but that is the 'gaol' experience.

It's a really cool building. The informational plaques around the jail were very interesting to read. The space was well kept and very pretty, though there was lots of outdoor space, which was unfortunate as it rained while we were there. The room was surprisingly cozy, as was the chapel hang-out area and the kitchen. Kitchen was well stocked. The water pressure was good in the shower and the water heated up quickly.
The room was a bit small for two people and our bags. The light was out in the bathroom, which was ok since there was a window which provided light from outside. The paint was chipping off the walls a little bit in the room.

The kitchen and chapel I enjoyed.

Comfy bed in gaol cell as expected. Good Wi-Fi. Easy Access to shared kitchen that was well-equipped as described in booking info. Communal eating area that was ideal for meeting & socialising with other guests. Hot shower with toiletries & towels provided. On-site parking. Many Interesting information boards about the gaol’s history. Friendly & welcoming host. Easy walking distance to supermarkets if self-catering and directly across roads from the Woolshed Brewery.
If you want something different, this is an ideal place to stay.
It was all good and as we’d expected.

It was a prison, super quiet but we had fun with that exploring and playing Table tennis. Walking distance to town. Common areas to sit and socialise. Good for photos.
A memorable night. Slept well
More amusing than a dislike, our room toilet was undoored. But we just agreed to use the common toilets when the need arises.

More of a hostel, and never met the staff... all communication over the phone and text, they weren't on site.

Plenty of character, nice communal areas.
Owner / operator very polite and helpful.
Access to a kitchen was very welcome.
Noisy neighbours - playing table tennis and load talking isn't really acceptable in a hotel environment. Might be better to remove the table tennis bats and balls in the evenings to prevent this 'option'.
Otherwise a great stay
