Overpriced and misrepresented

Not much to be honest..

This place is sub-par (at best). Where do I even begin?? On arriving at this property at the CONFIRMED arrival time of 12:30pm (between 12:00-13:00h) my family of four and I were left outside the locked gate until we decided to the call the property for further instruction. We were advised by the cleaner that the previous guests were still in rooms and we could in fact not check in until 4:00pm. As this property is quite a distance from Betanzos, is was naturally frustrating that we had to take a taxi back into town to buy some time for the next four hours (in a country that has a siesta from 2-4pm anyway, so NOTHING is open). Anyway, we obliged.. At 4:00pm we returned for check-in, to meet the cleaner who was still busy “cleaning” the house. Immediately we encountered three issues: the wifi sucked, half the facilities that were listed were in fact not available, and the place (in comparison with the photos listed) was just down-right DECEIVING. Just before the cleaner left we quickly wanted to confirm the time breakfast was scheduled, as we were walking the Camino and had a deadline to meet for the following day. I’d just like to clarify that the booking states that for an additional extra the owners come to the property to serve breakfast (€12pp = €60 for our family = $97AUD 😵 this is extortionate (just to clarify)). The cleaner had no clue that breakfast ever gets served. We then called the owner to clarify, who again had no clue about breakfast. After a lengthy discussion, we were asked “well if you want breakfast, what do you want?”. Well for the price of that breakfast I had assumed that it was going to be fantastic... If not for asking, i don’t think we would have received breakfast at all.. Naturally we requested breakfast to be cancelled and to be refunded through booking.com who kindly obliged given the circumstances. While settling in we noticed the state the property was in. The floors, sink, benchtops and bedsheets all still seemed dirty.
