Beautiful , friendly place. Great food!

Such a beautiful place!! Loved the rooms, dining area and gardens. Great food! Stayed here on our way back to London from Cornwall. Would highly recommend it! We literally booked the rooms two hours before we got there and caught our host a bit off guard in a busy dinner seating. They managed to fix everything for us and it was a great ending to our holliday.

Nice enough place but don’t think would return

Lovely looking place and lovely location. Room and bed very comfortable, although no bath mat on the first night.

Staff not particularly friendly, very noisy as the room has the garden outside with people loud in the garden

Absolutely loved it and will be going back!

beautiful accommodation in the heart of a pretty village, and good food.

bedroom was rather small but the bathroom was large and gorgeous!

Excellent!

The staff were attentive, friendly and efficient. The food was wonderful - I've never eaten tastier duck or black pudding (in different meals!). The room was very comfortable and spacious with lovely views over the green.

The only thing we could identify which coukd have been improved was the strength of the shower which was less than powerful.

Hospitality at its best

A beautiful old building which has been tastefully furnished. Dinner and Breakfast were to an extremely high standard. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Lovely old building sympathetically modernised. Excellent position overlooking the village green. Excellent girls doing the waiting on tables at dinner.

We had a number of bags, but the man who met us was resolute in not offering to assist despite a couple of hints. The room was good but spoiled by rubber pillows and a bathroom that was miniscule and ill thought out. No grab handle in the tiny shower. Not enough shelving to put toiletries on. Half used pump action pots situated on the floor of the shower - useless once you have wedged your way in. Part of the bedroom moulding was pulling away. Hake for dinner was overcooked. Breakfast was awful. It had to be pre-ordered the night before, which is a sign of an idle or non-existent chef. True to form the bacon had been cooked hours beforehand. The waitress was mopping the floor when we entered the breakfast room. She kindly put her mop down to serve us!

Towel rail was very hot, needs attention. Shower door would not shut completely therefore a risk to the decor.

It was ideally placed for the visits we made in S Somerset and N Dorset.

Comfortable room with huge double bath (and excellent shower); spacious restaurant with superb chef and cheerful waiting staff.

Having to dodge the beam in the bedroom. Nowhere to hang anything up in the bathroom ( but there was plentiful shelf space).

Lovely pub with rooms, offering a high level of customer service.

A picturesque setting on the corner of the village green. I wasn't able to make use of it, but the beer garden looked really nice and well thought out. The decor and feel of the place has obviously been carefully considered and the staff were all very friendly and efficient. Food for both dinner and breakfast was of a high standard.

Rooms aren't very sound proof as you hear all the activity from the corridors as if the people are in your room. Not a deterrent for a future stay but just something to consider if you are a light sleeper.

Exceptionally good and very good for three stars . Service excellent .

The porridge was excellent as was the fruit compote. So nice not to have some instant concoction that is over sweet. It was just right snd the coffee was superb . The dinner was good too
