**** I do not rent for single night stays. it's too difficult to bring in the cleaner. ****
**** In the summer, I rent Saturday to Saturday ONLY unless you want to pay for two weeks.****

Cozy country cabin in secluded area on private Lake Peqwaket in Brownfield. Quiet, yet close (20 minutes) to North Conway shopping and skiing.

Includes sandy, shady private beach with shallow sandy bottom for kids and gentle drop to about 15 - 20 feet. Great for kids but still deep enough for adults. Gets warm in late summer.

Wireless is included .

House includes almost all amenities for comfort: indoor an outdoor shower with hot/cold water, microwave, coffee maker, fridge, gas grill, toaster oven, electric cook top, outside picnic table, wall to wall carpeting, queen bed in the master, bunk room with full and twin bunk in the bunk room. . All plates, cutlery, TV with VCR/DVD, fire pit, canoe w/life jackets, parking, boat ramp (Bring your own firewood).

The cottage is perfect size and comfortable. Its in a perfect area close to things to see and do but far enough away. Area is quiet and the lake can be seen thru the trees. Easy access off a highway not far from Freyburg..

Things in the listing that were untrue: double futon. Not there. Owner has since removed it from the listing, but it still says the property sleeps six. It does not. Things that were misleading: Stove: no stove, just a 4-burner electric cooktop that trips the circuit breaker if you try to use 2 burners at the same time. There's also a grill, a toaster oven, and a microwave. Secluded: It's in a little development of summer cottages. Nearest neighbor is about 50 feet away. Not secluded. Lakeside: Well, kinda. It's only a few hundred feet from the water, but your view is blocked by other houses. You can walk 2 or 3 minutes to a very nice private lake beach. But you're not gonna enjoy any lake views from the cabin itself. Laundry: If you click on "more amenities," you'll see that the "laundry" listed as an amenity is actually "you can drive to a laundromat." Not mentioned in the listing, but you should know: Fridge was empty but not clean. Fridge also persistently drips water onto the top shelf. We put a bowl there to collect the drops and had to change it daily. Hideous comforter and pillows in the big bedroom seemed to have been soaked in febreze. We had to put it all outside to air out. Once the reek of febreze subsided, the subtle odor of cigarette smoke emerged. Nice! Owner was rude and dismissive when we contacted him, so don't expect any customer service if you have an issue. Nice location, cozy space that would be great if properly cleaned and maintained.

We found the cabin quite comfortable and Jay, the owner, was very accommodating and helpful. The cabin was clean and we had everything we needed, except our food of course. We would definitely return for another week of R&R in the future.

The cabin was not bad problems with the toilet the whole week. beach front was not part of the property it was about 500ft down the road and we were told we won't supposed to be using it.the listing was inaccurate the grass was almost 2ft high door threshold was broken up.we made the best of it knowing we would not get any refund I was not real happy if I had known the beach was not part of the property I would not have rented it

Cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed. Jay provided several pages of commentary about the area, what to do and where to eat, which was great as we hadn't been before. Short walk to the private beach was a bonus. Our dog loved it too!

My 2 sons and I had a great time. There were hikes close by and restaurants not too far away. The owner was responsive with questions and concerns before and during our stay. One thing I'd note is the listing includes Horseback riding but there wasn't this amenity close by as I expected. Other than that, good place to get away and I'd go back with my kids again.

We stayed two nights at this comfortable cottage. Location was convenient, the cottage was clean and comfortable. It is near a beautiful pond, Great place for our dog, very dog friendly.

Jay was very nice, he came over and introduced himself and explained about the neighborhood and a bit about the area. We let him know about an outside light that was out. He had it changed by the time we returned. We were expecting more of a quiet getaway. The neighborhood had a camp feel to it. There were lots of kids of all ages running back and forth. Our leashed dog wanted to run and play with them. There were plenty of books videos and things taking up space in the cabin. Sometimes less is more. There was a welcome drink, chips and salsa there when we arrived and some snacks left around the kitchen. The cleaning person needs to take more care in their duties. The cabin felt like it could have used a spring cleaning. There were cobwebs, sticky pan handles and an old sponge left on the sink.

The location was beautiful with the private pond nearby. We also enjoyed how close it was to multiple nice communities to eat and drink in. Information on the site was thorough and we would consider coming back next time we're in the Maine/New Hampshire area.

Stayed for a week with my daughter (aged 7) and it was perfect for us. The beach on the lake is very clean and we enjoyed spending a lot of time swimming. Close enough to fryeburg and north Conway for some fun day trips.

My spouse and I was supposed to stay at this property for 3 nights. We had to cut it short because of the cabin being extremely dirty and terrible odor. we left the very next morning because of the cabin being dirty and ordor was unbearable. I asked for a refund for the days we didn't stay and owner refused to give a refund. He claims cabin was clean. But clean to him is just wiping things down. It was a terrible experience. And I'm pretty sure he will be responding to this review with a come back because that's the way he is!

I am a single father with 2 young kids (2 and 5) and this property was great for just about everything. The beach was a close 1 minute drive, there was an abundance of fishing spots nearby, there is an amazing wooden playground 6 minutes down the road, North Conway is 30 minutes away and the Children's Museum & Theatre in Portland is only 1 hour away. Due to the location, you are always going against traffic which makes it for a pleasant stay. The cabin was fully stocked with everything that you would need (no oven), and so if you are staying for a week, you only have to bring food.

At first we were a little confused as to whether we were supposed to be at 33 or 35 because both numbers were on the profile in different places, but then we saw the picture of the property had 33 and got to the right place. We loved the cabin. Jay thought of everything and had so many different amenities for the kitchen and bathroom. Really appreciated the detailed list of all the things to do in the area, like Arethusa Falls. We had a great time hiking, making a fire and roasting marshmallows, grilling up some steak, and then relaxing in the couch and watching some videos (haven't used videos in years!). Overall, I could definitely see us coming back.

We had a great stay at this cabin. The location is perfect. Close to Fryeburg & Conway, with lots of options for things to do. Although it was too cold for us to go swimming, the association beach is within walking distance and looked very inviting. Hoping for warmer water on our next trip!

This property is a hidden gem. It was adorable, clean, comfortable, and had everything we could possibly need (and things we didn't even know we would want)! Upon arrival, there was music playing, a bottle of wine, and cookies. It was neat and tidy, with games, movies, books, and everything a person would need to cook. There is a thermostat in every room to keep you cozy on chilly nights, and plenty of places to sleep. We were sad we didn't have time to try out the firepit or canoe, but we look forward to doing it on our next visit. (Hopefully!)

It was a great place to detach from the rest of the world and the hustle and bustle of life. It had all of the necessities you would need while there and Jay was extremely helpful and readily available with answers to any questions!

For my 40th birthday I'd hoped to camp on my land in Hiram but with Temps in the negatives a last minute reservation here was key. Jay explained by phone the details, left detailed notes at the cabin and we had a fantastic time. It was -7 when we arrived so we quickly got the wood stove going and we're warm in no time. Unfortunately due to the extreme cold we couldn't get the water running but Jay had planned for such a problem and had ample water stored. He called Saturday to check on us and was extremely apologetic about the water (which he had no control over). We snowshoed out onto the lake that's in the back yard to see the incredible stars. 5 beds although my two friends slept in the living room for its proximity to the wood stove (we were not in the Hut but rather the green house). I wouldn't change a thing, great time, great host, very pleased with my experience and birthday celebration!

My family had a very nice time staying at the cabin. We especially loved having access to the lake and canoe. We felt very welcome and had everything we needed. We took one point off for evidence of a mouse, but we took it in stride because we knew it was a rustic setting.

We were looking for a nice relaxing place to bring the grandkids and we found it! We got there later in the day than expected. It was dark and the GPS sent us to the wrong cabin but luckily Jay, the owner was walking back to his cottage and directed us to the cute cottage with the lights on just waiting for our arrival. It’s definitely in the woods and evidence of a mouse.. but we made sure to keep food in containers and the mouse didn’t appear for the rest of our time. I loved that there wasn’t WiFi however there was a DVD and VHS player with a variety of movie selections. Our grandkids enjoyed watching the Looney Tune Cartoons. My grandson wants Looney Tunes for his birthday! Although it rained much of our time we didn’t let that ruin our long weekend. We took walks, went swimming in the lake and on our last night we had a fire in the awesome covered fire pit. Jay had it all set up for us and all we had to do was light it. The kids got to make their s’mores. We enjoyed playing games. Jay brought over some games for the kids to play while it was raining. My dog made friends with Barry while on one of our walks. He made sure to have some doggie treats and Bella enjoyed them. If you’re looking for something that’s a step up from camping and want a nice comfy bed and peace and quiet then this is the right place. Our grandkids want to go back next year! We look forward to returning.
