The street:
Ocean Street is famous for unaltered victorian era beach homes. Enjoy a commanding view of Massachusetts Bay from the expansive wrap around porch. Tidal pools and sandy beach across the street from home at low tide. Called the "high road" for its commanding views and protection from storms, this road dead ends a few blocks down and is used mostly by strollers and joggers.
The town:
One minute walk to town beach, four restaurants and full service grocery in the Brant Rock "Esplanade". The Famous Fairview Inn is four doors to the south for fine dining and ocean views. Leave your car idle - walk everywhere.
The larger area:
Many attractions nearby: Historic Plymouth, Marshfield Fair, Duxbury. 1.5 hour drive to Boston.
Non summer months: We have a discounted daily, weekly and monthly rate for winter with a three day minimum stay. Home is completely winterized and above flood line. Dramatic views always and exciting but safe to watch winter storms. A much better option than hotels for Thanksgiving or Christmas visits. Support is available 24/7 from my family members who live in the area.

Some extended family members and I stayed for the weekend, and there's not much more I can say other than it was perfect for us and had everything we needed. Would definitely go back.

My wife and I rented Patrick's house for a month to give my California-born wife a sense of a South Shore winter as we consider a potential move to the area. The house itself is wonderful - it's well maintained and exudes New England charm as it was built in 1910. The house is fully functional, comfortable, and pleasure to stay in. The house is a rock-solid testament to the quality of materials and carpentry that were typical of the early 20th century. During the two nor'easters that hit during our stay, the house didn't even twitch with wind gusts hitting 60mph.
You cannot help but connect to the ocean, which is right across Ocean St. from the house and showed all aspects of its personality from a calm blue mill pond, to an unending train of large grey waves driven by the winds of the nor'easter. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves breaking on the rocks was magical.
There is a lot to do around the neighborhood, even in the middle of winter - good local restaurants and markets. Marshfield and the towns surrounding it have a large assortment of restaurants, bars, and shops of all kinds, many of which pay homage to the rich history of the area.
Patrick and his cousin Kirk were very responsive and helpful whenever we had a question. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a New England seaside vacation home.

We really enjoyed our long weekend in this special house. It’s much more unique than staying in a local hotel and the view was spectacular. It fit our family of five well and had everything we needed. Communication with the host was excellent too. The house is right down the street from several restaurants and a small grocery store. Despite it being the off season, several places were open. The location was close to other nice towns and less than an hour from the Boston. I would recommend walking along Brant Rock Beach and listening to the waves flowing in and out along the pebbles. That was lovely. Thank you again for accommodating a later check out time for us and owning such a special place on the water.

I got married over Labor Day weekend and my wedding party stayed here with me the night before the wedding… and then my husband and I stayed for a few nights after the wedding!
it was the perfect location to wake up and walk the beach before all the wedding festivities. The views from every room in the house were gorgeous. Lots of parking. Easy to walk across the street for some wedding photos!
The house is old but charming. Very comfortable. Nice sitting space. Thankfully we had one of the only nice weekends of the summer… no rain or humidity. The only disappointment was that the owner had told me there would be air conditioners in the bedrooms which wasn’t actually the case. He had assured me the sea breeze would keep things cool, but I was a bit worried that it could be hot getting hair and makeup done for wedding. But, thankfully we had no humidity that weekend and didn’t need them after all.
I would recommend this house for a lovely, casual beachfront getaway!

One of my favorite places.

The house was very comfortable and exactly as pictured and described. My sister and I had a great time and would happily stay again.

This was a great place for my extended family to get together and relax. The view from the porch is amazing: water, sky, rocks, birds, and lots of seals. The binoculars were in constant use! We spent several days at Green Harbor beach, tried out many local restaurants, did all the jigsaw puzzles in the house, took a hike at the Mass Audubon Sanctuary, visited the Marshfield Hills General Store (owned by Steve Carrell), and a few of us visited the cape for one day (within easy reach). The house is comfortable and has most of the basic necessities. The house could use a bit of a facelift due to its age and exposure to the elements. This is not a luxury vacation house but it was a great place to gather as a family. And you really can’t beat the setting. We really enjoyed our stay.

It was a great vacation. Sitting on the front porch with the sun rising and on the rear deck for sunsets are very relaxing. The house is inviting and cozy. The beach is close, as well as great restaurants. The ice cream shop has a great selection of ice cream treats. The staff at Salt and Water, make sure you go home with shirts, t shirts and other beach memories. The Brant Rock market will meet your shopping needs.

We love the location and the charm of this cottage! The front porch is a great spot to seal, boat and people watch! Beautiful garden. One of the best things are the window seats in the front bedrooms. Can't wait to go back!

Another excellent stay here. Although it rained occasionally we were still able to view the ocean from the covered porch. This town is a real gem. The house is close to shopping and eating. Already looking forward to next year.

We had such a wonderful, relaxing stay with family. The home has plenty of space and everything needed for a comfortable stay, including stocked kitchen, linens, and paper products. The view on the porch is breathtaking, especially at sunrise. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, and I enjoyed walking my dog along Ocean Street each day. Thank you Patrick!! We hope to return!

Have stayed here several times and plan to return it is my happy place.

Property was everything listed. Porch was very inviting and watching the seals from the porch made it even better. We were there during a very warm time so the upstairs air conditioner did nothing to cool the downstairs. If you are there during heat advisories take some extra fans. Kitchen is well stocked. Plenty of linens provided. Hammock on porch was a hit. The neighborhood is quiet and many places are within walking distance. We would definetely stay here again.

We really enjoyed staying at this home. The views of the ocean and seals in the morning were breathtaking. The house is perfectly located within an easy walk to downtown. The house amenities were plentiful and perfect. Can wait to go back!

This property is wonderful. The views of the Ocean, Jetty and Beach are great from both the front and back porch. Lots of Adirondack chairs and Rockers to sit in, enjoy some food and the view. Large kitchen for storing and cooking food. Nice quiet neighborhood. Quick walk to the beach and the restaurants. Comfortable beds. Can't wait to come again next year.

We were able to stay in this home with a beautiful view while recovering from a major surgery done in Boston. It was the perfect home for us to relax, enjoy the view and take walks. The host was incredibly kind and quick to respond to questions. We would definitely rent this home again!

We had such a great time staying at this beautiful oceanfront home! There were 9 of us (4 adults and 5 children ages 5-13) and we all slept comfortably. We had amazing ocean views from just about every room in the house! We loved watching the sunrise from the front porch and spotted seals in the distance! The house had all the amenities that we needed and restaurants and shops just a 2 minute walk away. It was a perfect getaway to spend with our family!

Wonderful oceanfront view. Rocky shoreline. Great porch to watch boats, seals and wildlife. Short walk to restaurants and grocery. Older home with tons of character. Beach is downtown.
We arrived in a very cold spring storm and left in hot humid temps. The downstairs gets very warm. 2nd floor has a/c.
Many windows on first floor don't have screens so it can be difficult to get a breeze in the house.
Patrick was very accommodating in scheduling.

Nice house with a beautiful view of the sea. Loved the wraparound porch with hammock. Beautiful sunrise and sunset. Well equipped for cooking and eating local seafood. Bring your bike or walk/run.

A beautiful, charming seaside home was perfect for a weekend retreat from shoveling and looking at snow . The home felt steeped in historic memories and sits within walking distance of the Fairview Inn & Restaurant for lunch and dinner. In the opposite direction, the Jetty offered spirits and apps to enjoy with music overhead. The quaint Victorian home offered many supplies and was nestled among other neighbors who said hello, waved, and made you feel welcome. We enjoyed waking to see the sunrise from the main bedroom and will miss sitting on the porch with our afternoon coffee. We would not hesitate to visit again during the warm weather seasons. Thank you Patrick.

We enjoyed our stay at Maggies Cottage. It was off season and quiet but I'm sure it's great in the summer too. Everything was as advertised and the interactions with Phillip (the owner) were simple and pleasant.

Spent the week working remotely while my daughters attended virtual high school...with a view! Great space & Wi-Fi for all of us to spread out and work. Spectacular views morning, noon and night, comfy beds, a well-equipped kitchen, friendly neighbors and entertaining seals. Can’t wait for our next visit!
