it was such a good experience, will come back again.

friendly & helpful staffs the titbits counter was lovely. very clean room, bathroom and bed very relaxing vibes and beautiful place to stay.

not enough drinking water in the room no room slipper is provided. very noisy (the music from the food court) at night in-room menu unavailable

Third visit to a beautiful hotel in a great location

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in a great location. The rooms are very spacious and clean and the staff are so helpful and welcoming and definitely can’t fault the service. The hotel provide complimentary snacks and cold drinks throughout the day which are very welcome after a day in the heat and each evening they offer free wine & cheese which is really enjoyable before heading out for the evening.

The room didn’t include a kettle or coffeemaker which our booking description included but when I questioned this with the hotel they did arrange for a kettle to be provided. Certainly not a massive issue and it was resolved very quickly.

Beautiful boutique hotel stay

+ stunning old restored hotel in the heart of George Town. If you’re looking for unique, this ticks the boxes ! + booked a suite which was absolutely lovely , spacious and had a four poster bed + complementary glass of wine and cheese each evening which was super thoughtful + outside area to the rear of the property felt secluded and calm + the staff couldn’t do enough for us.. they really are a credit to the Hotel

I want to be clear - this is NOT the fault of the hotel. There was a large McLaren sports-car club group staying at the hotel. Our suite was at the front of the hotel so when the group came back late we were woken by their car engines as they all tried to park up. The kitchen is also quite small and when the ‘McLaren club’ were there, there weren’t enough tables and chairs, and it got very loud. May be worth checking in advance with the hotel if they have any large groups for your dates.

very good location only short walk to the old town. Staffs are very friendly Faz, Albert and their team made sure that we were well looked after. The hotel is beautiful and the room is large.

The pool facility is poor and the bed is hard.

Clean rooms and comfortable beds, improved breakfast. Greta location able to reach most of the Penang touristic spots within max 30 minutes walk

Relaxing short break at a beautiful setting - a perfect birthday staycation!

The service was very personalised and warm. Breakfast was great and enjoying it outdoors was lovely and refreshing. The wine hour was a nice touch and a great moment to sit back and enjoy a quiet afternoon or socialise with other hotel guests. The room is spacious and well laid out with touches of thoughtful details such as a yoga mat, weighing scales and a beach bag.

Wonderful

The Edison is an exceptional hotel in a spectacular, airy and well kept heritage building. The location is great for exploring Georgetown on foot. All of the staff is very welcoming, professional and helpful. The facilities and rooms are in great condition and leave nothing to be desired.

Very comfortable stay in a heritage house with character. Staff are hard working and efficient.

Manager Albert is amazing. He constantly attends to the smooth running of the hotel. He was helpful, thoughtful and ready to to assist with every request. He went above and beyond his responsibilities as manager. Five stars for Albert!

Across the road from the hotel is a karaoke venue which is quite noisy til midnight. If I owned the hotel I would encourage other hotels in the area to petition locals to have the hours of operation modified.

Highly recommended and would stay there again

The hotel is perfectly located for walking around the old part of George Town. Parking outside was easy and a great help. Check in was easy. The room was perfect: comfy bed, good pillows, generous space, large bathroom with good toiletries, excellent service in the breakfast/tea room - wine hour was lovely - and the young team were excellent. We liked the decor and quirky art.

Some of the walls were marked/a little tatty, but just need a touch up and a bit of TLC. In our family’s room, they thought the towels a bit tired. The aircon was a little noisy, but we got used to that.

DIRTY PIGEON PROBLEM.

The long lap pool and the free flow of canned drinks and cheap snacks. Very friendly staff (only at the dining area tho)

1) BIG PIGEON DROPPINGS PROBLEM. The drop off porch at the main entrance into the building has pigeons on its chandelier and pigeon droppings on the floor. Anyone walking into the hotel may have sudden pigeon droppings on his head or clothes. Its filthy. And the management mentioned they didnt want to put the plastic bird spikes to prevent the birds from nesting there as the spikes look ugly - i was like SERIOUSLY? You rather have a filthy pigeon droppings problem at the main entrance and guests being soiled by pigeon droppings??? 2) There was a drink tray with a used cup of tea and a used flask of water from the previous guest in the room upon checking in. I almost used the other cup for a drink until I saw a used tea bag in the other cup. Is possibly a human error by the hotel staff forgetting to clear the tray away after making the room. But still...I almost drank from a used cup. If the hotel expected perfection for charging such rates, i would too. 3) The breakfast was very miserable tbh - just a slice of toast, little salad and scramble eggs. Was it a little kid's meal? Its so very far from expectations for such a room rate. 4) I almost sat on a severely cracked modern porcelain stool have I not seen the huge crack right across its body. I mentioned to the staff about it. And then to the manager about it being a potential huge medical accident for a hotel guest should the stool break apart causing potential severe injury to guests and that the modern stool is not an expensive replacement at all especially so if it could cause serious injury to a guest. Ps I saw the stool still there after I feedback this. It was not even removed.

Very friendly, relaxing and stylish.

The rooms, building, interior design are all wonderful. The size of rooms etc are spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. But what I really loved about this hotel is that they have a room where you can hang out with free drinks and snacks 24/7. For instance, one night, I couldn’t sleep so I just went to the room, had a herbal tea, read a bit then got back to sleep without disturbing my wife. They also have a wine hour with cheese that is an excellent ice breaker to speak to other guests. For these reasons, this is an exceptional hotel that is very welcoming and friendly. Making our stay very special.

They didn’t have water bottles in the room but they had a jug of drinking water.

I like the staff who prepared the breakfast for us and listen carefully to our requirements.

The swimming pool is not well kept. The staircase is too stiff, luckily they allow us to change the room to the ground level on the next day.

gorgeous property with helpful staff!

The property is stunning and beautifully restored. The 24/7 free local snacks and drinks were a big plus. Staff members were super helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations!

There was 1 option for breakfast, despite them saying it was ‘continental.’ It was scrambled egg, toast and salad. For us adults, it was great but not so much for the kids. Also, they put us in the front 2 rooms, and both nights we were there, there was VERY loud live music across the street at Red Gardens. I don’t know whether that is every night or just the Friday and Saturday nights we stayed, but I’d ask before booking or ask to stay at the back of the hotel.
