We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Victoria Glion;have already talked to friends about the hotel.

Warm initial reception, both by the front desk and the porter who showed us our room. We loved the period furniture in the room and attention to detail with bathroom towels etc and toiletries; the small food snack provided; the embossed writing paper; the Victorian heaters in cast iron; the lift which worked quickly; the beautiful gardens; the chance to eat breakfast outside; the opportunity to use the sauna and jacuzzi privately; the incredible breakfast spread; the extensive collection of art and objects of art the hotel displayed. The kindness of the hotel owner’s wife, who let us have one of the hotel’s clothes hangers with the hotel name upon it as a momento of the stay.

The view, from one of the side rooms, was not especially impressive, but then, we did pay proportionately less for it.

A magnificent nineteenth-century hotel with a stunning view

A magnificent, characterful, nineteenth-century hotel in an excellent state of preservation standing 2500ft above Montreux with correspondingly wonderful views across the lake. Excellent outdoor pool. Lovely period bar and restaurant, the outdoor section of the latter allowing full appreciation of the view while dining. Lovely (if correspondingly expensive) meals.

My comfortable room was beautifully decorated but the tiny ensuite bathroom (clearly carved out of the original room) was more suited to a two-star hotel than four. I could forgive this in the context but in any other circumstances would have regarded this as a major complaint. Tea and coffee-making facilities in the room would have been appreciated.

Incredible, historical property with spectacular views of Lake Geneva

Everything about our stay was exceptional. The staff was so helpful and accommodating and our room was spectacular - so spacious with two bathrooms and a sitting area. We spent so much time on our balcony overlooking Lake Geneva and almost didn't want to go sightseeing because it was so relaxing and beautiful. Bonus - the sunsets both nights were absolutely amazing!

We drove our own car and the drive up is not for the weak of heart! Very tight turns with blind spots, so be very careful! Once we got to the property, parking was very limited but I suppose it was due to bad timing on our part as it was a Friday afternoon and the restaurant was booming. Later in the day I was able to move my car and find a great parking spot.

Effortless six star service in a hotel that takes you back in time.

This may be listed as a four star hotel however the service is six stars (special shout out to Yazmin). The hotel is like being on the set of an Agatha Christie novel (in a good way) and a lesson in how to do things properly. Effortless, charming, stunning, old school brilliance. Thank you Hotel Victoria.

Outdoor pool being open all year round but I understand why it wasn't.

Probably the best overall hotel experience of my life or very close. So charming and beautiful.

Where to start?! I suppose one has to start with the Proprietor /owner. Toni Mittermaier and his wife Barbara embody all that one could expect of professional lifelong hoteliers from this region. They were so welcoming to us, we felt like part of extended family. The food and service were also top notch.

Amazing hotel, view and experience!

Everything was excellent! Great sized rooms, breathtaking views and the hotel itself is one of its kind. I have traveled the world, this has to be one of the most unique places I have stayed. Overall, excellent!

Exceptional

Breakfast room is heaven on earth. An extraordinary experience all round. You could spend a morning just walking around the inside of the hotel looking at everything that has been collected over the years. Very clean rooms with extremely comfortable beds.

Must recommend this hotel

The best 4 star hotel I had in Switzerland. It is very quiet, has the perfect view towards the lake. The foto was take from the balcony of my hotel room. I can only recommend.

It is actually 4 km from the railway station. The train to Glion is every 1 hour. After that, you need to walk upward, it was quite demanding, especially when you have luggage. Better to take a taxi. But I will still choose here when I come to Montreux next time.

Excellent hotel and restaurant you can enjoy for one night or more!

We were very pleased with the helpful staff for the hotel and restaurant, and we even met the friendly owners. Everything was high quality and the hotel is decorated very uniquely in the Victorian theme. Its a very comfortable place to spend the night as we did and enjoy the hospitality!

I thank you owe us an apology.

On the day we stayed you ran out of several items on the breakfast buffet before we arrived to eat at 9:30. The buffet was not up to standard. The staff was friendly but pressured and uncomfortable.

In our room there was a small step downward from the bedroom to the bathroom which we tripped on several times. No one told us about this deformation including the friendly man who accompanied us to the room. We are fortunate we did not suffer a fall. This is truly inappropriate.
