Fantastic place and nr1 staff
9.0
- beautiful, historical building with superb views over the castle and gardens
- very welcoming and friendly staff
- nicely renovated interior
- spacious rooms
- very comfortable bed with quality sheets
- excellent fried eggs served at breakfast
- delicious dinner in the hotel's restaurant
- I would prefer to have a buffet style breakfast, but I understand that the hotel has some space limitations
- apart from the lovely fried eggs the breakfast wasn't of great quality: some days the cheese and the bread was a bit dry
- we had furniture on our balcony, but no cushions in them, so it was not very comfortable to use, the table was dirty (had to wipe it off)
- there was a kitchen corner in our suite, but no glasses or utensils
- the single bed in our suite's single room, however it was not a proper bed, but a sofabed and it was not very comfortable

The dinners were delicious and it’s a beautiful view from the outdoor seating place, where you can enjoy great food and wine or coffee 😊
as a solo traveler you always get the room with the parking lot view, but I guess I am used to this by now and don’t spend too much time in the room anyway

We had a wonderful stay, very warm welcome and friendly staff.
Very clean and quiet and super comfortable beds.
Amazing views over the valley and the castle.
Excellent breakfast and nice variety of dishes for dinner and fulfilling portions.
We loved it.

The staff were good, apart from that nothing.
I would not class that as luxury room..Had to climb into bath to take a shower much to high.It had a list of Telephone numbers for reception etc but no telephone.Tv was like a postage stamp.light switch don't turn on the lights.Breakast was a joke no fresh rolls and the meat and cheese was the cheapest you can buy.And would be nice to know before booking that the drive way to hotel was like climbing mount Everest if you are older people you will not make it.The so called city centre was like visiting Chernobyl.Never again.

The owner, staff and Ginger are very nice and friendly. Location is great. Parking is good. Terrace is brilliant in the summer. Dinner is good when available (Sun and Mon are rest days for restaurant)
Curtains in our room (room 14) are white and lightweight. So, too bright in the early hours during summer. Suggest to add a blackout curtain or use a thicker curtains.
We stayed 5 nights and our room was on the top floor- it was quite hot despite the fans.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was very quiet and clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. There is a nice hiking trail directly behind the hotel. The owners are friendly and helpful and have a lovely dog.
It was a bit disappointing (but understandable) that the sauna was closed due to Corona.

We enjoyed the small hotel experience, and the hosts were warm and relaxed.
The booking via booking.com said we would have a view, but we did not.
