Thanks to Mamadou and Omar and everyone else for a great stay

nice tasteful decorations, low key old fashioned charm. amazing view of beach and sea. very good air conditioning in room. very clean room. good area - both real local area and walking distance to good restaurants and watersports. very helpful staff- they even went to local shop for us and bought us a sim card and phone charger

The location right on the beach. The breakfast was also quite good! La maison Abaka is an interesting place, the decoration is original.
It felt quite relaxed staying there and being able to buy some souvenirs downstairs next to the reception was great! They sell nice stuff at an affordable price.
The owner was friendly. Do try her homemade jams, she's right, it's good 😁!
The mattress was a little hard for me and whatever they used to protect it was making a bit of noise every time you move, but not too bad to deal with for a night.

close to fairy boat to go across the bay.
I booked for 4 nights, AC didn’t work for 1.5 days, no other rooms available so I checked out after 2 days.

Nice terraces with a beautiful view of Ngor island. The beach is right next door. You hear the waves from your room even. At night there is a guard watching the door but still make sure to lock your door from the inside as well. The room is reasonably sized and overall acceptably clean and is cleaned on a daily. The bed is comfortable too. When it comes to the staff Omar is really nice and helpful. He went with me to buy a sim card on my first day and even lent me the money for it. They were honest about the place with the best conversion rate, which is within walking distance from the hotel, just on the main road. The staff did make sure I had a taxi waiting for me at the airport, as planned. They also made sure that I got one to take me all the way to Saly. They were overall nice. The walk from the taxi drop-off (place Ngor) to the hotel is not even a 2 minute walk. In the vicinity you have a few nice restaurants. You can even get a sandwich from one of the stands like the locals do. Trust me they are actually not that bad and cheap. Almedies area is not too far either. That is the busy area with lots of restaurants/lounges/bars. You can get taxis to pretty much anywhere in Dakar from Ngor (Plateau is about 35 minutes from there), just be careful to not get ripped off. Again take enough money with you!
The place is overpriced for what it is.You can pay by card at Abaka however they charge you a 3% fee if you do so (unless you have a certain type of card then it's less). The conversion rate is crazy! I expected at least 40 euros less to be charged on my card... There is a pool and a jacuzzi but with freezing cold water. I tried using the jacuzzi once and never again. They barely offer excursions. They are oblivious of how expensive a trip to Dakar can become. I asked about the pink lake for instance and they just told me to take a taxi (which is really expensive) and when I said that they told me not to be stingy... The same thing when I asked for the regular taxi prices. The area is not too bad it's right near the sea and you can hear the waves from your room, however the room itself felt a bit claustrophobic even though it's a reasonable size but that is because there is little to no natural light if you get the room with the street view. Watch out to not get ripped off if you take the boat to Ngor island it should be no more than 2500 XOF round trip. Place Ngor overall is quite safe just be careful at night, hopefully you won't encounter crazy agressive drunks. The cab drivers in place Ngor will rip you off if they can tell you're not from there. Always try to at least halve the price or take a taxi from the main road. Lots of vendors and scammers in the area so be careful. Overall good tip please take enough cash money with you and negotiate prices! If you decide to rent a car be careful traffic there is crazy! Dakar is lovely but I personally would go to the area of Saly/Somone when and if I go back. In Dakar itself I would definitely choose another place.

magnificent location with an outstanding view directly on the beach and on the beautiful island of Ngor. You could hear the waves in your bed while going to sleep at night. The service was exceptional. Everyone working there was really nice and helpful. the room was big and airy with a fan & AC. Hot shower. Big bed.
Quiet, calm, peaceful, authentic little paradise. I highly recommend.
a little expensive for the value. The bed was not super comfortable.

The big plus for this hotel is the location, directly overlooking the beach with beautiful sea views across to Ngor island. Breakfast was very good, continental style with juice, fruit and an excellent basket of bread and pastries and served on the outdoor terrace from which you can enjoy the sea views. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a good size.
The hotel was very worn and tired looking compared to the photographs on Booking.com. Our room had grubby marks across the walls and the bathroom had areas of accumulated grime. The external area suffered from damage to floor tiling and mosaic work and the outdoor furniture was very faded and marked with bird droppings. During our two night stay we never saw the small pool being cleaned and it was permanently affected by dust, leaves etc. on the surface of the water.

Spacious, well appointed room with an ocean view. Slept to the sound of waves.
Breakfast could have been better.

Clean. Great location. Cute dogs and cats around.
It was too pricey for the quality you get. Receptionist made me wait 30 mins while he’s drafting a receipt and wasted my time. The place is pretty old, nothing special.

Great view from the terrasse to the ile of Ngor, nice to have breakfast there. Breakfast was always served with a smile and for me there was enough choice.
Spacious room with a king size bed, well furnished and clean.
The team was very friendly and helpful, great people 👍🏽.
I once had diner which was really excellent .
The first 2 days we were only 2 or maybe 3 guests and it was a little difficult to find someone from the staff to get the key or ask for help.
There was no security guard neither at the front door nor at the back door leading to the beach, commun pratice to other properties.
It’s a pity that the new neighbor building is taking all the ☀️.
Last but not least there’s something you got to know if you want to stay there: if you’re allergic to cats or dogs or if you simply don’t like them, stay away from this place because they are omnipresent 🙂.For me it was no problem but it could be for someone else.

The location can't be beat and the rooms are comfortable and very well-decorated.
The restaurant only has breakfast, but there are many restaurants within a 5-minute walking distance.

I liked the decor and the ambience . I loved the beach front and the peaceful and pleasant atmosphere. Most of all the staff are very nice and very helpful. The rooms were very clean. It was quiet . WiFi worked, erratic sometimes but overall good .
I had some issues with hot water in the room I was placed the first night so I had to move to a different room , but this new room I felt wasn’t what I paid for because I paid for a room with a street view but they gave me a room in the middle with no view despite the fact that they had empty rooms. But the room I stayed was comfortable so I didn’t mind but I just wondered why I wasn’t put in a room with the view I paid for .
Secondly , I really do not understand why the food is so outrageously expensive. First night I came in very late so I had no choice but to eat there, next morning I was shocked to be told a plate of pasta with some shrimps cost 14Euros! A bottle of water almost 2 dollars, a cup of tea 2Euro. It took away from my stay because normally I would have loved to have stayed there and had all my meals but I was forced to go out to eat thereby exposing myself to harassment from the street guys and beach boys every time I stepped out ( the area is rough and has a lot of these guys hanging around). After I complained she asked me to pay 10euros which is still too much for a plate of pasta in my own opinion .
For the price of the rooms, a small complimentary bottle of water would have been nice . A kettle for tea should also be in the rooms.
The dog was allowed to sleep around on the chairs in the lounge leaving hairs which wasn’t hygienic . I always had to dust dog hair to sit outside in the lounge.
I had to cut my stay short for these reasons above. Otherwise I would have stayed longer because it was lovely to see the sea in the morning and hear the waves all day.
Isabelle herself the owner was a very pleasant woman and I wish I could have enjoyed my stay there but unfortunately I had to leave only after three days .

Right on the sea. Fresh air and cool. Great staff! Near the fishing village and the ferry to Ngor island.
I had to leave.

Isabelle was a delight, cooked for us each evening with aid of her local help. Food was fresh and delicious. Room was spacious clean, and aircon the best on this trip!
Breakfast consisted of fresh croissants and locally made preserves, fresh fruit and served with a smile and great hospitality.
