If you want to stay on a moored boat

The view through the porthole.

I thought I’d booked an apartment in a hotel, not a cabin on a moored boat. This needs to be better explained on the booking.com site

Unser Aufenthalt war gut dank schönem Wetter und Wassernähe.

Schlicht und einfach, unkompliziert. Lage muss man mögen, wir mochten es.

Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt überhaupt nicht. Zu teuer für null Service und absolut einfache Ausstattung. Störend sind die Mitarbeiter die nur draußen vor der Rezeption sitzen und rauchen. Lautstark reden und der Qualm zieht auf die anliegenden Gästeterrassen. Leider waren wir gleich nebenan. Das ist ein No Go.

- schönes Apartment - tolle Einrichtung - angenehm sauber

- Türe der Duschkabine war sehr schwergängig - Matratzen (für mich) zu weich - Sonnenschirm auf der Terrasse wär super gewesen

great place to be and very friendly and helpful staff

the place was clean, convenient, we loved the terrace where was quiet out the back and we could sit with the dogs in the evenings

would have liked an easy chair inside, but I understand the room wasn’t really big enough for that

Great visit for a geeky/historical nerd!

The location was perfect for the purpose of my visit. It was directly across the harbor from the Historical-Technical Museum for Peenemuende! Even with a absolute downpour, I was able to vist the museum and many related sites in a day.

There was nothing I did not like.

Quiet location at the very tip of Usedom

Lovely room brightly lit by the afternoon and evening sun. Terrace with table and chairs just outside the room, with little sails acting as separations between rooms. Well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven and microwave. Just next to the old Peenemünde harbour, with the Historical Technical Museum, the U-461 submarine and the various boat tours and ferries a short walk away. Plenty of parking space just in front of the entrance. I was too late in the season to enjoy it (it was a bit too cold), but there's a café that does breakfast located on a barge down the quay. Wonderfully quiet and peaceful -- some may say that it's dead in the evenings and mornings; just the way I enjoy it.

I was really happy about my stay there, and there's nothing that I really disliked. But some points might not appeal to everyone, so here's a list. There are quite a lot of mosquitoes and insects in the reeds, it's just next to the water after all. A car is pretty much mandatory to get there. There's no supermarket in Peenemünde, you have to go to Karlshagen to buy food. It was very quiet in October and absolutely silent in the evening -- it's clearly not a place for people looking for a wide choice of social activities, parties and such, there was simply nothing around. Better bring a good book!
