Location was good but breakfast was not available. Advised the receptionist that website information should be updated as it states breakfast available on request
Room was as expected, beds were comfortable but the kettle set of the smoke alarm

It's situated in a good place in the high street very near a mini supermarket for supplies, close to cafe for breakfast which came in handy as restaurant closed and a good fish and chip restaurant too. Linen and towels cleaner.
The room The Marlborough was a little dusty and bathroom had something not pleasant stuck to the tiles near toilet. Also handbasin was cracked and pop up plug was rusty
The water was extremely hot and there should have been warning signs. We only had one toilet roll which is inadequate for 2 people
and there didn't ever seem to be anyone to speak to. An example when we checked out
9.45am this morning downstairs was locked up and no receptionist /cleaner about to hand in the keys to... we rang emergency number who said cleaner should be around but failing that post keys through letterbox which we did
Although we had paid for bed only we were hoping for a meal in the restaurant the evening we arrived but apparently the kitchen was closed .. surely we should have been notified.
The 4 poster bed had a very soft mattress which wasn't that comfortable. Furniture tired looking.
My son's room had no chair in it and the shower cubicle was much too small!

the room was very quiet, and the location was close to a good breakfast place.
Room was very small.

A charming period pub/coaching inn with lots of original features and lovely staff. The bath was divine after a long day of walking. Dog surcharge was fair.
Can’t be helped but it was a bit noisy in our room from
above and below but not intolerable. Bedding was a little less than luxurious but perfectly adequate.

nice room. comfortable bed. spacious. warm. think we had the room in the picture above.
Apart from a Sunday carvery, there is no chef on site to do breakfast and evening meals. As we didn’t use the pub for meals, we went elsewhere to drink and eat and only saw the pub staff when we booked in and booked out, so didn’t actually see the bar or sample the drinks there.

No chef when I was there but the host directed me to a nice pub for dinner and a lovely cafe for breakfast - all in close distance.

Very loud noises from pipes when people in neighboring room turned on their taps at 4am (onwards) Sunday morning.

The exposed brick wall and the fireplace were lovely. As were the bed linen and towels. I wish we had been staying more than one night!
There was a very early check out of 10am, and the clocks had gone back.
