The wifi here is better than most places in Peru. They have 4 routers so there’s good connection everywhere in the hostel. Only 30 people that could fit in this hostel and it’s very big so very quiet throughout the night. There’s someone at reception 24 hours per day and a bar where you can buy 2 beers for 10 soles. The same price as the nearby corner store. The bathrooms are very clean. The hosts are very nice and all speak English and Spanish. It’s right by the Centro del Cusco so lots to do. The blankets are thick both in the dorms and private rooms, which is very important since Cusco is high in altitude. Worked as a digital nomad out of here for a week and would recommend it to others that need a nice place and good wifi.
Overall just a really good experience

I didn’t stay at the location. They never found my booking and had no more rooms (even though I had the confirmation). So, they moved me to a nearby hotel.

The staff was amazing!

The atmosphere was great, and the location was unbeatable. Loved the 24/7 tea and having breakfast in the little sitting room. I am so grateful to the staff, who made me feel so welcome here.
The showers were not hot enough.

VIP house is one of the small-scaled hostels but has a lot of potential! It has an indoor bar space with cheap drink deals and offers walking tours. I did the Inca temple walking tour with Eduardo and enjoyed it very much - would have been even better with more people joining it. I hope more solo travelers come to this hostel and make it more social!
The facilities are far from fancy but it has all the necessities.

Location
The reality is that VIP House is not a very good hostel. You shouldn't have to pay more than 5 dollars a night here.
I tried extending my stay at the reception. The guy working there didn't know what to do and instead tried to double-charge me the days I had already paid. Luckily I always demand a signed confirmation paper after paying, so I showed him the paper. He wasn't able to understand the signed confirmation paper either.
The rooms have no windows, so you'll be staying in a room with 6 other people without enough oxygen. This is even more problematic given the altitude. I found myself waking up breathing very rapidly. I am not a medical expert, but I daresay it probably isn't healthy.
The room above is close to a window that is located in the hall. Getting some oxygen can be done by leaving the door of the room as well as that window open during the night. Sadly, the neighbours have a dog that starts barking around 6am. For some reason, VIP House has never thought about solving this issue, which would have been nice especially given the fact that they charge their customers a quite high price for the low quality of the hostel in general.
The place has old wooden floors which make a lot of noise by even walking.
The breakfast is not impressive, but of course most hostels don't even have one. The personnel giving the breakfast to the customers almost always forget something. They forget the coffee, the spoon, the bread, whatever. You have to remind them all the time.
The hostel doesn't have any rules related to making noise during the night. This leads to people starting to pack their bag at 3am in the morning instead of preparing it the evening before.
Of course, it is not allowed to smoke inside. However, after another customer what smoking inside the room, I informed the receptionist. He just shrugged his shoulders and didn't care.
There is supposed to be free coca tea.

The family who ran this hostel was so so kind and always there to help us if we had any questions. They served a delicious breakfast with coffee and tea so that was such a bonus :) Cozy place with lots of space and quiet rooms. Great location as well, close to shops, restaurants and the main square!

It was an old colonial monument with lots of old & positive vibes. Attracting all sorts of people..
At night, the temperatures dropped and it could become really cold

This place is a family run business, they really look out for you and it has a great atmosphere. Eduardo who runs this place is the greatest host I had so far during my travels. Especially during the quarantine he goes above and beyond making us comfortable. He ensures our wellbeing, it's like being at home. They have got the basics covered as well, food, WiFi, TV and boardgames. The supermarket is opposite as well making shopping a few steps away.

Super nice staff.
Simple but good breakfast.
Clean.
Good wifi in common areas.
Good water pressure and warm shower.
It was quite dark but that's partly due to the architecture and wifi doesn't reach 8 bed dorm.

The staff was very friendly. Breakfast is very simple, but for the price you can't complain ! It's a chill hostel, lots of space to hang out. They give a lot of covers, so you're not cold at night!!
The mattress wasn't very comfortable, the linen kept sliding off during the night. Wifi wasn't working good.
