Really fun place with eclectic decorations very near the beach.

A nice quiet hostel in Olón. Very close to the beach - less than a 5 minute walk. Also close to restaurants etc. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and had a hot shower. The bed linen was changed during our stay. Strong wifi and a large communal kitchen for cooking.

Peter is a lovely host who makes you feel at home right away. He puts a lot of attention to details and I enjoyed the beautiful garden and numerous facilities, such as board games, ping pong table or the hammocks a lot. The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of space to cook and mingle - another plus! The location is equally great: very close to the beach and the village, but quiet and safe. I would recommend this place in particular for families with children.
The room we had which advertised as a 'twin deluxe room' came with a bunk bed made with two big mattresses, a bit of surprise for us as we thought we'd have one bed each. The room was generally quite small, which is on the principle OK as there are large common spaces. What I really did not like though was that both the toilet and the shower were in exactly the same room as the bed, separated by a curtain and low walls only. I'd have preferred a more privacy...

Good location, close to the beach and walking distance to the city.
Noisy neighbors during our first night, probably bad luck as it was feriado.

The rooms are decent and clean, there are several corners with table and chairs on the (limited) grounds. The kitchen is the best equipped i've seen so far in Ecuadorian hostals. The hostal is not beach front, but accessible after a 5 minute walk. There is no parking.
Hostal Oloncita is hard to find, there is no sign with the name on it, Google Maps gets irritated when you proceed after passing the hostal-with-no-name a few times and directed me 29 Km. north.

Clean and tidy, unique space
Not beachfront, a very short walk to the beach. No bar, no restaurant as stated in the listing.

The location was perfect and the owner was a super nice man with a lovely dog. Everything was great. We had access to the kitchen and could cook whenever we want. The hostel was very beautiful with lots of beautiful trees.

With very affordable rates, this little gem in Olon is a hidden place of relaxation, comfort, and fun. Situated a block from the beach is the perfect place for a loner, a couple or a group of crazy girls, like my sisters and I to celebrate and enjoy life. The owner is friendly, funny, attentive and most importantly loves nature. He has been able the make the guests feel like they are one with nature.

Very peaceful. Slept like a baby. Needed some quiet time for myself and my family. Love the location and the people there. All were very friendly. Especially the owners. I'm very grateful for the hospitality. Danke schön!
Love everything.

2 min walk from the beach, huge sand box with so much toys INSIDE the hotel for the children to play, jungle like feel, spacious kitchen area

I was looking at a cheaper option but chose this because the pictures made it look like it had a nice vibe... big mistake. The hostel was completely empty when we got there, so no vibe whatsoever in the common areas. Everything was unplugged - lamps, the fridge... it felt like we were bothering the guy working there by arriving. He basically just grunted that he wanted the money and went back to his room. Our room was small and bare with sheets for curtains. Just no love behind it. Maybe it's better in high season but for us, in November, it was a big fail. Also it's not on the beach, which for the price you could definitely find.
