Stunning views, spacious apartment with well-equipped kitchen, clean and modern. Balcony offers unbeatable views of the sea, city wall, and Lokrum Island. Owners are incredibly helpful and responsive. Definitely recommend.
10.0 / 10.0
The apartment is on the top floor of a building at one of the highest points of the old town, looking southwest over the city Wall to the Adriatic Sea. The covered porch is just a beautiful place to hang out. Buza Bar is about 50 steps from the front door. We swam there every afternoon.
We met the assistant, Marija, at the apartment. She welcomed us with her wonderful, zany humor. Marija efficiently gave us a tour of the modern apartment with excellent air conditioning, and informed us of what we needed to know. She also gave us a few recommendations on where to eat. The Bosnian cuisine at the nearby Taj Mahal was delicious. Communication with owners, Maro and Marija (there are 2 Marijas) was easy and they replied promptly to my questions.
As other reviews have mentioned, there are a lot of steps to get to the apartment; 55, if I remember correctly. This after climbing up the street steps from wherever else we were. That said, we are in our 60’s with one of us having had recent knee surgery and another with leg and hip issues. Yet, we would all eagerly stay there again. We just love the apartment and its location!

The apartment is great. Loved the view and being in the city walls. Plenty of room for two couples. Only thing to be aware of is the location is difficult to get to. It is in old town so there is no direct transportation to the apartment and it is about 150 stairs to the door to the apartment building from there you go up an additional 55 steps on a spiral staircase to get to the apartment.

Wonderful apartment with the most beautiful views in the city. I previously stayed at the Hilton just outside the walls but preferred staying here because of the natural beauty, space, location, and price. We stayed 9 nights and love our time here. As someone who relies heavily on reviews, I thought it only fair to post support for this rental!

Loved our stay. The apartment is modern and has wonderful A/C. A huge plus in the Summer months. Hosts were very responsive to any questions I had. Would recommend.

When we walked around the city wall, we did not see one other place that had a balcony looking south over the city wall with an unobstructed view to the Adriatic Sea. Also it is less than 5 minutes to walk to the main square, with its fresh market, grocery store and innumerable cafes and restaurants.
The apartment is new, spacious and bright.
Sure there are lots of stairs but unless you have a physical handicap it is just good exercise.

The apartment is exactly as advertised. The owner arranged for transport from airport and porters to carry bags which I would strongly encourage if a bit older like us. Highly recommend.

This flat is perfect...furnished and equipped for a carefree stay. A wonderful host who is so responsive and can help you with seamless pick up and luggage portage through old city
Also, as others have said, there are a sizeable number of stairs to contend with If you have accessibility issues with stairs this is not for you.
But for everyone else, the view from the sizeable balcony is unmatched. First there is the sea and Lokrum island. Second, in front and below is some of the largest green space/garden in the old city. Third you can people watch the folks walking the city wall.
We stayed 10 days and it has been the accomodation highlight of an extensive European trip.
If you are going to Dubrovnik, this is the place to stay if you are lucky enough to find it available

This apartment with its view over the city walls and out to the sea is just amazing! Yes, there are 53 steps on a spiral stairway to reach it but it’s worth it. We were met upon arrival and guided around the apartment, Marija provided us with all the necessary information, like where to bring the trash etc. which was actually very easy to find and utilize. The apartment was very clean and well stocked with all the basics. The location made for the perfect escape from the crowds!

Maro and Maria were on the spot from airport transfers and porters to questions on our stay. They were fantastic, dependable to work with, and made our trip effortless. The property was modern, very clean, and the location was exceptional! We spent hours on the porch. The views of the Sea and the City were beyond beautiful. It was nice getting a little exercise climbing steps to help wear off the fine dining and drinks all offered within walking distance. We would definitely come back here. Thank you Maro, you helped make this one of our best trips ever!

We spent 3 nights in this apartment on a recent visit to Croatia. The views are stunning and the apt was outfitted with everything we needed for our visit. The owner’s assistant met us at check in to assist us with recommendations and to orient us to the apt. Loved that it was air conditioned!! Yes there are steps to apt thru the old town and the steps to the apt are real but if you are in decent shape it’s not a problem. The view of the city wall and Adriatic Sea was a special treat

Great place to stay in the Old Town, close to everything. Wonderful terrace to relax on and enjoy the spectacular view.

I absolutely loved this accommodation for its location in Old Town Dubrovnik and its wonderful balcony and view. Lots of stairs but thank God for the porter we hired. Worth every euro to get help with our bags from the city gate to our lovely apartment.
8.0 / 10.0
Loved our stay but a few notes to be aware of! As mentioned in other reviews…First of all it is a long way up a LOT of stairs to the apartment building! Great location right across from the wall and the sea. Once you get to the apartment building it’s 55 steps up a very steep winding wooden staircase to get to your apartment!! Marija is a great host and we asked her to hire a driver for us from the airport and Most Importantly to hire a porter to carry our 25” heavy suitcases up for us!!! Very best $$$ spent!!! Also as mentioned in other posts beds are super hard and uncomfortable!!! Most uncomfortable beds of our travels thru Croatia and Prague! Really need mattress toppers!
With that said Marija is very accommodating and sweet and the view and deck are wonderful!! And we absolutely loved Dubrovnik !! All in all I do recommend this apartment

We loved the space but the 3 story narrow spiral staircase up to apartment was difficult.
You need to let your renters to be aware.
Not good for older people.
The view was great and loved being right by the wall. Enjoyed our stay.

The view was unbelievable, and the apartment was clean, well kept, and appears to have been recently renovated. After having seen the location of other accommodations that appeared similar online, it is clear this apartment was the right choice. The high elevation and proximity to the city walls makes this an ideal place to stay in Old Town Dubrovnik.
The hosts are the most friendly and accommodating we've ever had. Can't recommend them enough.

Great property on a quiet street but still only 2 mins walk from middle of tge old town. Stunning view from the balcony. Lovely bedrooms and bathrooms.. only word of warning is that it is a top floor flat up some steep stairs....but the climbing is worth it...stunning...

The apartment was grate. The 50+ steps/stair case was a challenge, the the views and deck was excellent. Was the lack of towels and the porter didn’t show up to help us get our luggage to the gate.

The view from the apartment is fabulous. We enjoyed watching the wall walkers and taking in the views of the Adriatic. The balcony is quite comfortable. The location is great but be aware that there are LOTS of steps to get to the apartment. Not only are there 60 steps on a winding spiral staircase to get to the apartment but there are at least another 60 steps to get to the level with the apartment. We tried to find a more flat way but there isn’t. You need to be in decent shape. As someone recommended, hire the porter for the luggage. Best money we spent. Well worth it.
The apartment is well stocked with everything. It was nice that there was even laundry detergent even though we brought our own. There is plenty of closest space in the rooms. One negative is that the beds are very hard and uncomfortable. It’s probably the hardest bed I’ve ever slept in. They need a mattress topper or something to make them more comfortable.
The owner was very responsive to questions and recommendations.

The views from every window are worth it alone. We spent many hours on the terrace watching the perfect ocean views, drinking local wine, and eating fruit and cheese from the local street market. My favorite view was watching the near full moon set on the ocean horizon (I had never seen that before). The apartment was very clean and well appointed and the host was easy to communicate with before and during our stay. Others have commented on the stairs - yes there were a lot, but I never thought it was an uncomfortable amount (keep in mind my partner and I are both regular runners so perhaps in good enough shape that it didn’t bother us). Even better f you’re not in the best of shape, the stairs are a small price to pay for the views you get when you arrive at the top - plus it earns you an extra glass of wine :-)

Beautiful quiet property with exceptional views. We spent much of our time sipping wine on the terrace looking at Lokrum Island.

Spectacular 2BR/2BA in the heart of Old City. Walking distance to everything. Clean, recently renovated and very well equipped. Washing machine was a nice feature. The highlight of the rental is a spectacular porch that overlooks the top of the Wall and a view of the Adriatic. We strongly recommend this property. They only drawback is you need to be able to navigate third floor with a pretty steep staircase so just be sure to pack light! We say this as healthy, in shape 50 year old adults. The upside is plenty of exercise and you get the benefit of spectacular views!

This was a lovely modern apartment with all the necessary amenities. Although it was around 95 steps from the Stradun (Main Street) to the entrance to the building and another 55 stairs to the apartment door, it was worth the climb. The patio had an amazing view over the wall and the ocean. Bathrooms were modern and the washer came in handy for a longer stay. Check in and out was easy. The host met us at the gate into the city and walked us there and helped with our luggage. The last flight of stairs is a bit challenging as they go more narrow at the top so the help was appreciated. this was my second time visiting Dubrovnik and if I come again I will definitely pick this apartment. Staying inside the walls is the best!

Amazing! VBRO exceeded our expectations!
Lots of steps to climb but they are worth it for the patio and the view over Old Towne and the Adriatic Sea. It was Amazing!! The patio has a crank out awning if you want protection from the sun or rain, which was an added bonus.
There is an A/C unit in each bedroom, as well as main room, so very comfortable in summer heat. The breeze off the water made the patio very comfortable as well.
We are from the USA and did not realize no cars are allowed inside city walls….. be prepared to be dropped off outside gates and walk with your luggage over the cobblestones and up many flights of steps. Staying inside Old Towne is a great experience, but be prepared to haul your luggage!!
The apartment exceeded our expectations and made hauling the luggage, and all the steps, worth the effort!

Great location; wonderful host
Our host, Maro, couldn’t have been more helpful during the entire trip. The apartment is in a great location and very well appointed. Definitely ask Maro to help arrange a porter as it’s a good number of stairs and the porter is well worth it! Overall, fantastic stay and I would definitely recommend it!

Almost perfect . . .
Beautiful apartment, seemingly newly renovated. Light, bright, modern and airy. High end bathroom fixtures and kitchen appliances, BUT . . . no toaster (really?) and no microwave (WHAT?!?!). Amazing terrace, beautiful views from multiple angles, BUT . . . be prepared, as others have noted, that from the building entrance up to the apartment, there are 55 stairs in a steep, tight (some might say treacherous) circular staircase. And to reach the apartment building from the main part of town, there are another about 100 steps. Overall, a wonderful apartment, but be prepared for a stringent workout each time coming and going.

Beautiful view, lovely apartment, great hosts!
Yes, there are a lot of stairs, but the view and the apartment are well worth it. Great location and amenities. Hosts were so helpful in arranging our ride from the airport and met us at Ploče Gate to guide us to the apartment. I have recommended to friends already!

Loved every minute!
Marija helped make our stay absolutely perfect! The pictures don’t even do it justice…the apartment is amazing. Beautiful views from the patio and very well accommodated. Spent lots of time at the Buza bar just down the way. In the heart of Old Town. So many wonderful restaurants and bars/cafes. Lots of stairs, but a great way to work off your delicious dinners!

Pack light - the views are worth it!
Marija and Maro were excellent hosts! They answered our many questions prior to arrival and Marija met us upon arrival at the old city gate (via transport from airport they arranged) and walked us to the apartment. The apartment was clean and comfortable with incredible views! Word of warning, there are a lot of stairs to get to the apartment. We should've packed lighter - (we say that every time)!! Fortunately our son was there to help get our bags up the spiral staircase to the apartment which his 60-somethiing parents would've had a hard time doing. Wonderful stay - highly recommend!

Location, location, location
Beautifully appointed and maintained apartment with amazing views. The patio is what really holds this apartment above all others. While I agree with another reviewer that the patio furniture is not what is pictured (and should be updated on the website), That’s a minor issue that shouldn’t deter anyone from staying here.
Don’t think you will avoid stairs by staying in the old town. Some paths to the apartment are easier than others but once there, it’s 4 floors up a narrow circular stairway. The toughest part is getting there with luggage. After that, it justifies all the food and wine!
Marija was lovely and very responsive before and during our stay. She met us when we were dropped off and walked us to the apartment, arranged transportation when we left and even helped get our Covid test results printed before our return home. We would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Dubrovnik!

Excellent!
We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. It was quiet and we slept great. It was so nice to be on the top floor and enjoy the terrace and the view. We didn't mind the stairs at all.

Perfection
The property is as advertised with the most beautiful view of the sea. It was a hoot having our picture taken by people on the wall.the apartment is clean and comfortable with anything you will need to enjoy your stay. Old Town is a city of many stairs so be prepared to climb them!! Close to everything and a perfect place to explore Dubrovnik! Marija was in easy contact and was very kind and gracious. A most magical vacation!

Beautiful apartment and view
The host was amazing and the apartment is beautiful and very spacious, we loved having two full baths. The balcony is by far the best space. The reason for the 4 rating is because the balcony furniture is not what is shown in the picture - made with plastic strings and not comfortable, the beds are very firm and we were only given 1 set of towels (bath, hand & washclothe) each.

Gem at the top of the wall!
This property, located on the south side of Old Town Dubrovnik, was a great location to gaze upon the sea and watch people traverse the city walls. Marija was a lovely host who arranged for our early arrival (we alerted her in advance), as well as departure arrangements. The property was clean, convenient, and just as described. We'd stay here again!

Best View in Dubrovnik!
The views and hospitality are absolutely unbeatable. Maro and Marija are incredible hosts and answered all of my messages and questions within minutes regardless of the time of day! The house is spotless and equipped with everything you need during your stay. The view from the balcony is easily the best in Dubrovnik - so beautiful that my boyfriend actually proposed to me on it! If we ever get to come back, we will definitely be staying here again.

Beautiful Views
The apartment had a wonderful view and is very modern. Be prepared to climb some stairs to work off all of the great bakery items you will eat. The balcony is very large and has beautiful views. As the owner of multiple vacation homes, I would highly recommend staying here if you visit Dubrovnik.
