Great location. Great hosts and lovely old settler hut

The host was welcoming and pleasant
Complimentary breakfast provisions were great
The property is very old and rustic, I wouldn’t recommend if you are not up to this type of accommodation.
Bed, bed linen pillows and blankets very worn and old, this was very unsatisfactory.
Grime kitchen. The place needs a good clean and upgrade to all bedding and soft furnishings.
I like and appreciate the old and rustic type accommodation, but visitors need to feel comfortable if you want them to return.
Great wine and clever sparkling

A quiet retreat with a beautiful bushland outlook. The cottage was quaint and charming. It was very close to the wedding venue we were attending and close to the historic town of Wollombi
There was no TV or Internet so bring a book. Unfortunately we couldn’t get the fire to light which would have added to the old world atmosphere

Quiet and serene location

Country living so close to Sydney. The cottage was authentic and brought to life the real experiences. The winery was an added bonus. The hosts were very friendly and thoughtful. In many sense, it is an authentic experience; it's not a modern cottage with a made-up look. It was perfect for us. There was egg, bacon, and milk in the fridge. I also loved Wollombi such rustic charm, and the residents slowed down to wave or salute. I loved it.

My wife and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend in the cottage. Cooper helped wear our 2 y/o Lab out. Location to town was only a 15 minute walk. Looking forward to trying it out in the Winter with a cosy fire.

Peter made us feel very welcome. The cabin was very beautiful. We sat by the open fire drinking wine and playing scrabble. During the day we adventured into the village, having a drink and some wood fired pizzas at the local pub. It was a perfect relaxing weekend we needed with our pup. Definitely come back.

As we arrived after dark & it was cold, it would have been nice to have arrived to a warmed up cabin, rather than having to get warm on arrival.
Enjoyed stopping at Cellar door to view sculpture & sample some bubbles

Peter welcoming , we loved the colonial old world feel of place and location.
Lights were not working which a pity but we survived with lamps. Nice brekkie in fridge bacon egg’s mushrooms tomatoes bread. But no butter or cooking oil which made it difficult. Cheers

We had an enjoyable and memorable weekend at the cabin.
The settlers cottage is a clean, cosy, comfortable, and well maintained time capsule! Loved the decor and trinkets.
Lovely to have some breakfast provided and the convenience of wine tasting on our doorstep. Host was friendly, helpful and kind.

We had a lovely time. Our dog absolutely loved it there. Location was also fantastic for visiting all the wineries. Would definitely go back again.

Peter and Jane greeted us at the Celler Door of the winery, we tasted some of their quality wines, bought some of the preserves then off to the quaint 1840's house full of history and amazement at what was built and stood the test of time. A few things have been updated since the days where the original family had 9 kids staying there.
It was quiet, the fireplace worked well and the bed was very comfortable.
We will be back.

We had a lovely 2 day get away that took us back in time to the early settlers of this region. Great fire and a hearty breakfast !

Famiky and friends enjoyed the rustic, historical atmosphere of the cottage. Winter in Wollombi is very cold but adequate heating was provided- electric bankets and all. The fireplace with wood provided was great.

Had a wonderful couple of nights in the Settlers Cottage, the fireplace and plenty of heaters kept us warm! The cottage is as described, and a great experience.

Dissapointed for the money we paid
the whole house was not very clean, mainly the kitchen area, there was mold on the kitchen ceiling very thick, some of the lights did not work, toilet did not flush well, was advertised as breakfast supplied we only got breakfast for one morning, blankets smelt like moth balls, owners dog kept coming down and jumping all over our dogs, we had to kept tying him up, would not recommend it, which is unfortunate as it really could be nice with some TLC.

Winery and remoteness
The area and location were beautiful and peaceful. Dog friendly and close to wineries. No mobile range (which was good to relax) the cottage was rustic, charming and comfortable, even with the heat. Hospitality was great and I enjoyed the tastings. A nice weekend escape.

Excellent toned down get away from the rat race of the city life.
We stayed at this settlers cottage for 2 nights, me, my spouse and our son...and enjoyed a lot. The cottage was kept very clean. The owner thought of everything to keep available at the cottage. Both Peter and Jane were very helpful and friendly. The beautiful rustic ambiance was a great experience for us. Even our little dog Snowy enjoyed a lot! Anybody wanting to wind down and take a break from the busy life can consider this property for a holiday. It was only a 5 minute walk to the wifi connection. The place was very clean and the beds were clean and comfy with electric blankets. Thanks to the hosts for such a great place.

Chopper & Mavis
Most obliging hosts, beautiful location (views & close to town). The property is need of a complete re furnishing overhaul. Couches broken, flooring freyed, poor lighting, bedding should be replaced, bathroom fixtures dodgey, heating poor. Definately not suitable for anyone with limited mobility.
