About this house rental
There are many great homes you can rent but if the weather turns are there enough things to do to occupy your guests? Here your plan B is covered. Candlewood Isle is located 80 minutes from Manhattan and sits in the middle of Candlewood Lake which is 11 miles long. Our home is on the top of a ridge overlooking the lake on a dead-end road. The house is not lakefront, however, it is a 1-minute drive to the clubhouse beach. Or a short walk. This home is one of the most private homes on the whole Island. The house features everything you could ever want to do for your vacation, even if it rains the home offers plenty of features to keep you occupied. You can even still have an outside BBQ with our huge covered patio under the deck. There is a pool table, ping pong table, shuffleboard table, 3 bars (2 inside) (and one outside) a movie theatre that converts to a disco, a music studio, and for those that don't play an instrument, there is a professional karaoke system that provides hours of fun. The home has two wood-burning fireplaces, a 1,600 sq foot deck with two top-of-the-line Weber grills & a smoker. There is a nice flat yard as well as a fire pit and patio/bar in the back with a Bluetooth audio system The home has 5 smart TVs as well as audio systems throughout the home inside and out. It also has a hot tub that seats 7 people on the deck overlooking the lake. NOTE: The home is built as 6 bedrooms, however, two of those rooms have been converted into a theatre and the other a music studio. You may have these rooms set up as bedrooms if the current sleeping arrangements don't meet your needs, the theatre has a king sleeper sofa however the house can sleep 12 without utilizing these rooms.
Should you want to host a larger party or event we must discuss the event and how many people you expect. There are additional fees for events or anyone else coming to the home. Please let us know this upon booking. All guests must be cleared through the gate guard and be on the guest list. The property is video-monitored 24/7 from the outside. We stayed here for my friend's low-key bachelorette party. Peter was a great and responsive host, and the property was wonderful. We sang lots of karaoke and enjoyed cocktails on the large deck with beautiful views. Access to the community beach club was a big plus. Everyone had a great time and was really impressed with this property. Highly recommend it!

Peter made our stay easy and convenient, we had a great time cooking for our party of 8 in the kitchen and enjoyed spectacular views from the hot tub. He was very responsive and helpful with explaining the house and the built in technology for music and movie streaming is terrific. Would recommend this property to anyone looking for a group getaway where you can have all the fun activities you want without even leaving the home!

This was the perfect spot for a girls getaway in celebration of my mom and sister's birthdays! Ample space for a large group, lots of indoor activities, and easy access to fun activities in the neighborhood. Would love to stay here again!

Came for a weekend away from the city with a group of girls! We had the absolute best time! This house is made for entertaining and at the same time super cozy for a movie night or relaxing.

This house is exactly as advertised - all the bells and whistles worked and then some. Peter met us for a walkthrough and instructions on the many amenities the home, which was very helpful. The house is beautiful and all the furniture and finishes are top of the line - no rental-quality stuff here!
It was the perfect spot for our group of friends to spend a weekend on the lake. Plenty of space with lots of entertainment. We never left except for spending a morning on the lake (and Peter has great boat rental recommendations!).
Peter is very friendly, was always available for questions, and even complimented us on our cleaning job (which is rare for a host!)
10/10 would stay again.

Great location for an event or family gathering. It's a little difficult to get to and off the beaten path (which may be a good thing). Amenities are excellent, could use a little more outdoor furniture or some new furniture outside. It has beautiful lake views but is a very long walk or a short ride to the water, but once there Candlewood Lake is great.

The house and property were ideal for our group of friends. Clean, and organized, and all technology (so many great and convenient gadgets) worked perfectly with explanations and instructions provided if needed. The property is perfectly maintained with great views of the lake. Would recommend it to anyone looking to relax with plenty of privacy and space for any activity.

5 STAR PROPERTY is an understatement!
It was exactly as described in the listing and so much more! There is so much to experience on property making it extremely difficult to depart. From the large theater room with surround sound and plush leather recliners to the fully equipped karaoke studio offering online access to all your favorite tunes, this home has it ALL! Whether it's gaming, shooting a game of pool or engaging in a one on one ping pong challenge championship, there's never a shortage of activities and something for everyone!
And if romance is what you crave... I highly recommend pouring yourself a cocktail at sunset before slipping into the most deliciously positioned and well maintained hot tub! While gazing upon Lake Candlewood, you'll enjoy a front row seat to a stage honoring clear skies and dancing constellations!
It seems your host, Peter, thought of every meticulous detail making this home a recipe for perfection!
The kitchen is fully equipped for entertaining and creating a masterful feast, and the outdoor spaces make it nothing short of priceless for family gatherings and reunions! Additionally, the home feels like a 5-Star boutique resort! It's tidy, clean, and well maintained. I myself prioritize a good night's rest while on vacation and I must say, without hesitation that the master suite most certainly offers a such an experience with a king size bed not soon forgotten! And, no worries... food and spirit provisions are only minutes away, and if the detailed instructional guides lack the answers you seek, Peter is a phone call away!
He was a "rock star" host and available when needed.

Upon arrival onto the property Peter gave us a tour and demonstrated how to use the house smart system. Key features we enjoyed were the music system that plays throughout the house, Ice machine in the living room bar, full kitchen with heating lamps for family meals, large bbq grill, jacuzzi with a view, movie theater room for the UFC fight through our ESPN+, shuffleboard & ping pong, a bit of karaoke and a bonfire to end the weekend. We were only there for two nights and all left wishing we’d stayed longer! Thanks again!

Peter's home was everything it was described to be plus more. We stayed here in a group of 11 adults and there was so many activities to keep everyone happy and entertained the entire time. The view from the house is truly one of a kind and Peter's hospitality was second to none. Any questions we had Peter was super quick to get back to us through text and help out with whatever we needed. The home has audio systems controlled by a smart feature that you can play music throughout the entire home straight from your phone, truly an entertainers dream. I can probably write an essay about how great our stay was at this home but I will stop here. Thank you for having us Peter and looking forward to coming back soon!

I had a group of 6, and we had a great stay at Peter's home on the Lake. From the pictures you can tell, it's a beautiful home, and upon arrival it does not disappoint. The home has a great layout for groups or families who need multiple bedrooms with multiple beds. Ping Pong, Hot Tub, Steam Shower, Movie Theater, and Privacy, this house really had it all. Peter was very attentive to any questions and was great. I can't recommend the Peter's home enough. Thanks for a great stay!

Winter trip to New Fairfield
We are a group of two families with a total of 6 kids ranging from 10-20. Every year we take a winter vacation and this year we had a blast. The property had amenities to the liking for the entire group...pool table, ping pong table, theatre (kids really loved that), karaoke, beautiful views, quality grill, speaker system, plenty of TVs, outdoor fire pit for smores, and more.
The surrounding area was great too. It was easy to find restaurants with quality food and fair prices. Lots of great hiking. We also took two day trips to NYC which was easy to do with a group of 12. Overall it was one of our better trips that we have taken over the past 8 years.
Lastly Peter was a great host. He's super nice and easy to get ahold of. Any concern we had (which weren't many) he quickly resolved them. He gave great advice on what to do in the surrounding area and made the trip easy on us. Thanks Peter!
