Zeer vriendelijke dame aan het onthaal 's morgens. Zeer goed ontbijt.

Prima kleinschalig hotel net buiten de vesting.

Vriendelijk personeel. Zo konden we al eerder in de kamer. Bij het ontbijt was de zaal al best vol en konden we een rustig plekje aan de krantentafel krijgen. De kamer was eenvoudig, maar schoon.

Beetje gehorig, maar dat ligt misschien meer aan de andere gasten die wat luidruchtig waren bij het binnenkomen in de avond.

Voor doorreis of kort verblijf een aanrader

wij kregen een upgrade, en hadden een zeer ruime kamer en badkamer. De fietsenstalling is een pluspunt. Het ontbijt (buffetvorm) was gevarieerd en lekker.

We zaten in nevengebouw. Hopelijk is hoofdgebouw gerieflijker.

Zeer kleine badkamer.je kon je bijna niet omdraaien. Te lage toilet. Kamer zonder airco. Was 30 graden op de kamer. Enige luxe een ventilator.

OK, but...

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good.

We were allocated a room on the top floor of the annex building. Since we were travelling with a 2-year old child and a dog, it was quite challenging to climb the narrow stairs up&down with all the stuff a family needs and everytime we realised we left something in the car The room was relatively small and with the low ceiling, the air got stucked. When we tried to open the only small window, we had the noise of the street traffic and smell of cigarette from the room/window below us.

Very nice hotel. Exactly what we needed. Clean big room, nice staff, good breakfast, available parking.

As the room was on the ground level with a big window facing the street you felt the lack of privacy therefore had to stay with the closed curtains all the time.

Lovely stuff! We got a quite dark room with a small window so we asked for a replacement. The stuff was happily to help us, and gave a different room (room on the 3rd floor without an elevator, but still a nice one). Clean, comfortable, nice breakfast, plenty of parking places. Definitely worth the price!

Good location and had everything we needed but was just a bit too basic for the cost.

Staff friendly. Good location. Breakfast was adequate.

Room was quite basic and in an annex. No opening windows so quite stuffy. Felt a bit too basic.

Friendly staff

We stayed in another building and not in the main hotel. The shower was a disaster - no drainage, water everywhere, and filth bubbling onto our feet. You are required to cook your own eggs (if you want an English breakfast).

pity that was so noisy

the breakfast and the location

very small room and noisy. you can hear the people walking on the room upstairs. going up and down the stairs. the phone ringing by the reception and the receptionist talking loud.

disappointing experience with booking.com. who did not provide much support with a complaint we had.

The breakfast was good and the location close to Hulst Vesting is also good.

We were charged €123 for the night which I would have been happy to pay if the room we booked was the room we got. However we did not get the room we booked. We were asked to go to another building where the rooms are clearly of a much lower standard than the main building. The pictures we saw on the booking.com website did not match the actual room we got, especially as far as the bathroom was concerned. The room was not soundproofed and the flushing and shower from the room above was very audible every time they were used. Anyone speaking in the corridor or going down the stairs was also very audible, making our stay quite disappointing, considering the price we paid. When informed about this, the hotel did not offer a discount. When Booking.com were informed they were also unhelpful and they simply referred me back to the hotel. I rarely write bad reviews but this time, I must highlight this bad experience both in terms of the hotel and in terms of booking.com which we n fact offers no guarantee of what they are actually advertising. UPDATE: Hotel management called be back a day later and compensated with €25 cash back and a 20% discount on a future stay should we wish to go back. I appreciated their call and their honest reaction to our complaint.

I very good hotel in good loaction.

The hotel has very good public areas - i.e. the breakfast room and a sunny terrace with bar service. Staff member Isabel was fantastic - so helpful and helped us book a restaurant. We were travelling by bicycle and made use of the hotel's secure bike store, which was great. The hotel stairs are very steep and the steps very shallow. Anyone with mobility problems should definitely use the lift!

Lovely comfortable stay. Friendly staff. Great location.

Breakfast was lovely. The coffee was AMAZING!! Best hotel coffee I've ever had. The staff were very friendly and they even let me have some take away coffee for the road :-) Lovely views from bedrooms.

Great breakfast and nice hotel.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was good and had nice options, not only the basic options. But location was very good.

The walls were a bit thin. The soap/shampoo had very masculine smell.
