Room and bathroom particularly were spotless. Bedroom was a single, and not very spacious, but bed comfortable, room warm on a chilly weekend. No noise from music event downstairs. Decor of room slightly startling and unusual. Staff very pleasant and friendly.
Big climb upstairs with luggage; lack of space in car park on Sunday evening.

Stylish comfortable, good food and great staff.
It's definitely worth its price tag but who wouldn't want it cheaper or perhaps breakfast inc.

The staff were very friendly and helped with our bags when we arrived
The room was bigger than expected with a big bathroom
Excellent idea for breakfast -paying seperately for what you can eat especially for light eaters at breakfast like us.
Very clean - good communication with staff and felt very at ease there.
As the room was facing the trafic was noisy at times and the old style windows did not enable us to drown out the noise.
New windows etc will be covered eventually so that will improve the sound levels.

This was the first time we have stayed here and it turned out to be far better than we expected
It is one of the friendliest places we have ever stayed. With a relaxed atmosphere, very attentive service,
good food and decent draught beer in the bar

lovely big room, everything i needed, good facilities.
loud outside, thin windows

Very noisy and drafty cold room. People slamming doors within the hotel. Very pricey food couldn't afford to eat there. Very small car park.

They were able to do a good vegan breakfast on request. Beautiful old building. Staff v friendly.
Shower leaked and flooded the bathroom floor, bed was uncomfortable, furniture was cheap, stains on walls and ceilings and soft furnishings, TV didn't work, walls are paper thin so you can hear others in their room, bathroom was straight from the 1970s, light pull was dirty. It was generally uncomfortable and not at all a pleasant stay.

It was fine for the one night we needed it and was clean
Decor and furnishings all old and 'tired' some wallpaper peeling and smelt musty. The ensuite was unusual to say the least The stairs to the room were very steep.

It was very clean

Noise from the traffic but appreciate this is beyond control

The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was a good quality with varied options. Bed was comfortable and room was clean.
The rooms were tired and dated, with old flat packed furniture and wallpaper peeling off the walls. No hot water from the taps and the shower pressure was awful. Bathroom in both rooms was dated and far past its best. Single glazed windows meant that even when the windows were shut, the room was still noisy with the traffic.

Clean and tidy
We could hear the traffic outside

Location good, food was good. Friendly staff. Very different experiences for breakfast on the two mornings I was there. One led by experienced person, the second with a new person learning.
The only mirror was a standing head height in the bathroom, need a hook for towels when in the shower and the bath towels needs to be larger, they are only just bigger than the hand towel. The kettle doesn’t fit under the bathroom tap and the cord for the kettle dangerously stretched where currently positioned.

The staff were great and the breakfast excellent.
The shower was a little cramped and the beer in the bar (Yardbird) was pretty average.

Breakfast was lovely, good choice freshly prepared to your preference. The room was clean, as was the en suite. The bar staff were very helpful and pleasant. There were complimentary bathroom products put out everyday.
In the bedroom we were obliged to pug in the kettle on a extension lead on the floor, which was not really a good idea.
There were no hooks on which to hang clothes in the bathroom, the towels were very small.
The evening restaurant service was chaotic - first course served then no one appeared to clear our plates and ask if we wanted desert. The bill wasn't presented either and sadly we nearly forgot to pay until we were leaving.

Fantastic breakfast
Decor was outdated & had a run down feel. Bed was a bit hard & room suffered from traffic noise.

Unable to answer this question, see below.
Unfortunately the hotel was completely locked and shut, with all lights off, when I arrived at my pre-arranged & approved late night check in time. I was not able to stay at the hotel and had to get driven 2 hours to stay with a friend.

Great value for money, the room included a full English or continental breakfast. The breakfast was very good 10/10. The room was clean and of a very good size, top floor is a walk up but no problem unless you are very elderly. The hotel has a small car park but found a space, parking locally is not restricted anyway. Very friendly and happy staff. They sell 'zero' alcohol lager which is very good. The Hotel is on a main road but right by the traffic light junction so there is very little traffic noise and hardly audible. There is a very large and secure garden with climbing stuff if you have kids that need to have a run around for a bit and blow some steam off.
No problems with our stay.
