After using the premier inn in gosport this place was like a palace , great staff , very clean , great breakfast ..... I would recommend this place to others and will be booking to stay here from now on .... Also fairly close to the Bus/Coach station so excellent over all
as it is an old building it is bound to have its quirks , creaking floorboards .... the room doors (fire doors) could use some fire resistant padding between the door and the frame to help soften the doors noise at night

Bed was very comfortable, great location
Our room needed some TLC quite musty when we arrived. Some of the trim in the bathroom was peeling off too. Also really struggled to get the cold water to run cold.

The location was excellent, only about a 2 minute walk from the town centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel food options were wide ranging and tasted great (good value for money too).
The bathroom could have been improved by renovation bi it other than that, things were fine.

Good food & bar service. Excellent real ale. Characterfull historic building
The catch on the bedroom window had been bodged. Meaning it rattled all night in the wind

Location good for purpose.
Breakfast staff great, plenty of choice of food but not that great at cooked items, poached eggs were hard boiled, toast was burnt, just a few silly things really but they do make a difference
Wi-Fi signal non existing in our room and bathroom needs updating, shower was broken and tiles coming off the wall.

Lovely staff, helpful with breakfast options.
The bed sagged terribly, I'm not sure if it was old or just a very soft mattress but I found it uncomfortable.

2nd Recent stay to visit family. Lovely hotel with very hard working staff. Extremely comfy bed. Large room. Number 30. I left some clothes behind & were kindly posted back to me. Thank you to the receptionist.
The waste paper bin in the bedroom needs a good scrubbing as it definitely smelt iffy, but we didn't want to trouble the receptionist & sound like a complaining customer for something so small. The lighting isn't very bright. There are bedside lamps & on the desk, which are all very dim, so it was very hard to see what I needed to do at times. So that is the only reason I scored 9 out or 10. Everything else was fantastic.

The room was beautiful. Nice and clean and the staff were lovely.
My problem was I stayed over Christmas on a buisness/family trip as a freelance chef so worked over Christmas and went too see family at the same time. Problem being my room was located at the top of the main staircase over Christmas in a busy hotel so didnt get much quiet come the end of the night.
