The staff was really kind!

- Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful
- The restaurant does a very good dinner, in the case you can’t get reservations elsewhere (however the menu is very limited)
- For not being an actual ski in/out hotel, the location is actually pretty good. 50M down the road there is a short cat track that takes you to the Grande Sure lift. It’s short enough that you can easily walk the cat track if you have kids just starting out. When getting back to the hotel, you can reach it via the cat track that runs through town, via the weird stand-up people mover lift, or via the Alpe Express gondola (basically just get back to Centre Station)- then walk 100M to 300M to the hotel (depending on which transport you chose). It’s not perfect, but it certainly could be much worse. There is also a grocery store just down the street, as well as a cash point.
- The hotel has showering facilities that you can use the day you check out, in the case you wanted to ski one final day and shower at the end before heading to the airport.
- There is an underground car park, as well as a large bay directly across the street from the hotel, so parking should not be an issue. Parking is also free, which is a nice touch.
- The walls are paper thin and you can hear pretty much everything in the rooms adjacent to you. I would be woken up or unable to sleep at times because of this.
- The room doors slam shut HARD, and since people are oblivious and inconsiderate, you’ll be constantly listening to slamming doors.
- Some room layouts are awkward. For example, my bathroom window opened up directly onto someone else’s balcony. If I wanted to open the window to let the steam out, then I very much risked someone getting to see me nude. I also had a smoker next door, so if the window was open then my room may end up smelling like cigarettes.
- The ski/boot room is small. At peak times, it’s nearly unusable because any more than 6 people in it is a crowd. If you’re lucky enough to be in there alone, then it’s manageable.
- The breakfast (which costs an extra €15 per person per day) is uninspiring and overpriced for what it is. There are very few options available, and some were inedible to me (like the very runny scrambled eggs). The kitchen won’t do any special requests either, in the case you may want different eggs.

Everything! We chose this hotel for our annual skiing trip to Alpe d'Huez and were not disappointed. We loved the room with balcony (incredible South-facing views) and bath (helped my ski-sore muscles) and the fact that the hotel has a lift, a sauna/steamroom and also offers the most lovely breakfast as part of some deals. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The bar is atmospheric and full of interesting Alpine decoration. We decided to use the shop attached to the hotel (Alain's) to rent our skis and again, were not disappointed. Excellent prices for decent equipment and wonderful people who work there. Very happy and we will return as soon as we can.

Great 3rd generation family hotel. Nice to watch their children go to school while we're heading to the slopes.
The view is great!
The ski shop in the same building makes it extremely convenient. Excellent equipment, good prices. (Alain Sport)
Loved the atmosphere.
The owners are very nice and helpful, agreed for late check out in the evening after ski day.

Very friendly staff, but not fluent in English, wonderful locations near ski lifts with easy access to the center by ski. We took half bord and dinners were fantastic with great selection of local cheese.
Drier for ski shoes did not work in locker room :(
