there was no internet in the room - also there was no 4g access in the room- but this was not communicated in advance. In a village where there is literally nothing to do internet becomes more imortant. Disappoointed this was never communicated. And when asked about this during the stay, the question was dismissed and a simple: "no there is no internet in your room, or 4g" - was given as an answer.
Also there is no market, or bakery or any place to get food in the village. You have to have a car to get around.
Also there was no one there upon arrival - so had to call to have someone come over. Luckily it didnt take too long. But keep in mind you need a functioning mobile - where network is not always accessible etc.

A lovely room with ensuite bathroom. A kitchen with really good facilities to make a meal The location is peaceful even though it is only minutes away from the motorway.
All was just fine as always.

Very convenient location close to the highway and easy check in. Was perfect for us needing an easy place to stay during a long journey.

Much nicer than staying in a motel. Restful nights sleep on our journey to the mountains. Easy to find. Peaceful nights sleep.
It was all good

Quiet, clean and perfect for sitting the long journey up through France, leaving a 4 h drive to Calais.

The violet room is nice and spacious. We had a good night rest there and the beds are comfortable.
We used the oven and the kitchen to have a pizza as I think we were the only guests that night.
It was a good place to stay for a one night stop for a long journey.
The kitchen is not that clean that was a bit disappointing.
Also when booking I didn't realize the bathroom was not en suite, however it was not a problem as we were the only guests in the house that night.

Value for money and a perfect place to stop on our journey to Calais. Very close to the motorway and situated in a lovely village. The kitchen was well equipped and we brought our own food after reading previous reviews informing us there are no local amenities.
Fixtures and fitting a little dated but still functional. Private bathroom down the corridor but not a real issue. Some noise from other guests arriving very late at night but can’t be helped by the host. Would still stay again.

Situated very close to the autoroute. Good sized family room and well equipped kitchen. Price is good for clean overnight stop.
Dated, tired decor and bathroom. Private bathroom is not in the same room as the bedroom but down the hall past some other rooms. The family room is also next to the communal area so can be quite noisy if you are trying to get an early night. Note that there is nowhere to eat nearby and it’s around 15 minutes to the nearest supermarket.

Nothing.This place os just fine.

Very comfortable stay close to the highway. Beautiful house. We stayed one night on the way to the south. Perfect place to stay if you're looking for a night's stay close to the highway while traveling.
No big issues. Two small ones: No stores in the village to buy bread in the morning just a machine - if you want a boulangerie you need to travel ~15KM. The private bathroom is not adjacent to the room and you need to pass through a communal hallway.

We liked the location, being close to the motorway as this suited our plans.
The chalet worked well as an overnight stop.
The communication as both sparse and a little late.
Lack of local information in regards to facilities ie food.
The family room being situated such a distance from the bathroom facilities.

i imagine if its a nice day the back yard is a plus, grassed garden area to sit and relax after a long drive, we however did not arrive until late.
the toilet!!! BLACK AS BLACK CAN BE! not nice especially when there were so many cleaning fluis/solutions/bottles etc about. The shower floor was also lacking. Bedding, old and scratchy and just the smallest hand towel?? confused as to why. The bed is also situated so that when the door is opened to the communal corridor "ta da" for all to see. a screen of somesort or move the bed the other wall would solve this.

A very convenient location just off the autoroute (Clairvaux Abbey not to be missed!). The kitchen amenities are shared but good. The owner is welcoming and the stay was very good value.
The site is in a very pretty village but there are no shops or boulangerie, so bring everything with you (there is a restaurant in Clairvaux which looked good but we didn't try it). Occasional noise from the road outside.

It was clean, comfortable, full of character, lovely quiet location and just a short drive from the motorway

Location - close to the A5 in a tranquil part of France. Good parking, garden access, large bedroom and access to shared kitchen.
The kitchen, dining room, single toilet and shower are all shared with the other guests. Some tired fittings and decor. No breakfast or easily accessed restaurants or shops (this is fine as long as you bring all your own supplies with you)

It was a real pleasure stopping at this place while half-way on our roadtrip between A and B. Nathalie was extremely friendly and this place is a life project she created with her partner, a house made out of love and hard work, a special place compared to standard hotel chains. It was a real pleasure meeting her and chatting with her about the area. The kitchen had many accessories to cook if willing to (we didn't but it sounded great). The living room had a nice area with sofa and table and chairs and TV if I remember well. The WiFi worked well. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom with a modern shower and two sinks. It was really quiet. Parking right in front of the place. We really enjoyed our short 1-night stay and would definitely stay again if we drive past there again. La Ferte sur Aube is a tiny village but very pretty seen from a drone! :-) It is not far from cities and historical places that would be well worth visiting if we had had some time.
It is true as mentioned by several comments that there is no eatery or supermarket around in this very small village, so make sure that you eat on the way or buy food to cook for dinner and buy some food for breakfast if you need so that you are all sorted when you get there.

I’m very familiar with the aria and the people there are exceptionally nice even though most don’t speak English but there were signed posts everywhere in french and English so no issues for me as I understand a little french too !
Towels were pretty worn and shampoo was missing

Beautiful country cottage with communal kitchen, living and dining room with everything you need (no TV).
There are seperate private rooms with locks, we staying in the African room with a double bed, table and chairs and a private bathroom, including toilet, sink and shower. There was a little cupboard room with one electric hob, microwave and a toaster with a few utensils you might need.
The place was easy to find with Google maps and is signposted. The host is French speaking but managed to communicate using google translate, she was lovely and showed us everything.
We will definitely stay again.
Nothing will be staying again.
