The location is fantastic and only surpassed by the care and attention of the owners. This is the best guest house we have stayed in and if you seek peace and tranquility it takes some beating. Home cooking and comforts when required and warm welcome from the owners.
If you are looking for full hotel facilities this is not the place for you. You also need to be aware it is on an island and you need to plan your daily activities accordingly. We were prepared and so these are not dislikes for us but could be for others.

The hotel is unique, combining all advantages of a family-run hotel with those of the environment (a small island away from the busy coast of Fethiye). The owner Kemal was always amiable and helpful, providing in-depth information about the region. The hotel serves complimentary breakfast and dinner on demand, for a very reasonable price. There is no restaurant a-la-carte which was not a problem since we liked the delicious homemade Turkish dishes cooked by Kemal’s brother Ersin. There is access to a nearby beach which is never crowded, as there are no other hotels nearby, and it is situated in a bay (thus no high waves even on windy days, unlike on Calis Beach in Fethiye city). Rooms have very comfortable beds and good WiFi access. Transportation to Calis Beach is provided by the hotel owner. Overall, a lovely nice and very memorable place to stay, especially for those who are tired of big crowds and want to experience a quiet and friendly atmosphere of a small community while having almost exclusive access to the beach and other facilities.
No cons, only some pieces of advice. Like in other places in the region, there are rocks on the beach and underwater, so wearing swimming shoes is strongly advised. Also, there is no market on the island, so for any purchases, you have to go to the city (which is possible anytime during the working hours of the hotel). There are two restaurants in the vicinity (each with its own boat for guest transportation). Both restaurants usually require an advance reservation for dinner, as they are popular among guests from Fethiye city.

Sovalye Hotel is located on a picturesque island still preserving ruins of a medieval castle. On your way to the nearest beach, you would routinely bump into VI A.D. century floor mosaic in the middle of the pathway, ruins of a castle and a port, marble slabs and ancient cisterns used to collect rainwater. During our stay a family of helmeted guineafowls was feeding nearby, while a tortoise was loitering every evening near the hotel. In a night-time Fethiye bay is also full of marine life traces including famous Caretta caretta turtles. Every night you woul dbe immersed intothe sounds of nature like calls of owls or loud, but calming cricket noises.
Sovalye island is a home to a very good high-end restaurant Ada. However, we were happy to explore offers of the historical city centre night attractions and Calis Beach eateries.
What makes Sovalye Hotel experience exceptional is its owner Kemal who is a fine gentleman and a very genuine person. Kemal is a retired army colonel who values discipline and order. When you are in his hands, Kemal will provide you with valuable information, access to airport shuttle (taxi) and water taxi options to travel between the island and Calis Beach. Kemal is happy to support with various outdoor activities, including valuable free classes for the ones starting kayaking or using paddle boards.
Sovalye Hotel provides a good healthy breakfast, but dinner options are not very diverse

This family-run hotel is located on Sovalye Island: breathtaking views, calm and relaxing atmosphere, lovely swimming spot, fresh and delicious food, everything was perfect during our stay. Mr Kemal provided great advice for activities and arranged for a boat tour to the blue bays and a fabulous fun day in Oludeniz and Kayakoy. I strongly recommend Sovalye Hotel to anyone wanted to experience the best in the Fethiye region.

Book this hotel with no hesitation! I stayed only 2 nights and wish I could extend my stay longer.
Kemal-the owner of the hotel is the kindest gentleman. As I was traveling alone he really looked after me, as there to help me book activities and transfers and we had the best conversations when he showed me around the island. If you're not sure how to get to the island, worry not! Kemal will be there to pick you up on his boat whenever you wish. Will definitely book again!

The location of the hotel is perfect it is a beach front, i loved the sea view from our room, it is only 10 mins away from city center and you can go by boat which was an amazing experience
We totally loved everything about this great hotel
All was perfect during my stay in the hotel

This family run hotel is an absolute gem! The location is perfect, away from the hustle and bustle of busy Fethiye but close enough to still be part of it all. The view from my rooms balcony was gorgeous, overlooking the sea and the room was clean and spacious! There is plenty to do around and is just a quick ferry to the main land. I went canoeing around the island and was able to swim in the sea, either from the jetty right in front of the hotel or at the small beach just behind the hotel. The team at Sovalye Hotel went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. Kemal helped me organise all my transport and activities but also gave me space to just relax!
The food was delicious! Breakfast was a traditional turkish breakfast and the other meals were pretty much up to you!
If you would like to soak up all that turkey has to offer I would 100% recommend Sovalye Hotel!
I had such a wonderful stay and felt right at home from the very beginning!

We planned to stay in this little hotel for four nights and extended to eleven nights. We found everything we have been looking for - a peaceful small island in a heavenly environment. From beginning on we felt like part of the family; thanks again Kemal Abi and your family for having us around!!
Everything we wanted or needed was organized right away.
Only some boat-minutes away from busy Fethiye, the island is close enough to explore different places. Boat transfer is easy as you can go several times per day by cheap dolmus or taxi boat.
For a boat trip we have been picked up directly at the island which was very convenient.
But the best was just to relax at/around the hotel. On nice sunbeds in the nice garden in the front or on the beach at the backside. The water was perfect, clear, clean and warm. Exploring the island is also worth it...
In the morning and evening we enjoyed local food while sitting on the nice terrace with this wonderful view. Also the rooms have sea view which is amazing at any time of the day.
We will definitely come back :-)

It was like at home... but in better !
One the best place to visit in southern Turkey and more preserved than other touristic cities.
Kemal and his staff really make everything possible to make you feel comfortable.
You feel privileged, between the chosen to stay in this great and quiet island... but at 10 minutes boat from all the city activities.
View is amazing and you can relax in different beaches or paddle board if you prefer.
We were concerned by staying in a little island but transfers are always available and Kemal will do his best to arrange your trips ... any time !
