Everything, the food provided the kindness of the hot, the place was amazing
I lost my phone on the bus but the guest house manager was kind enough to help me out and contact the bus agency to get it back asap!
The location was right out of a move honestly so pretty!!!
I guess for some people the river might be loud at night and the house is old but to me these were nice points actually

the owner is really nice, beautiful scenery and mountain in the area
not many bus pass stop by, so either make sure to check the schedule or walk from the train station, that is 2!3 km away

The food prepared was delicious! The place has a great view that will relax you. It would be a great place to stay with your friends. There are no other guests when I booked the stay so it was rather quiet (except for the cars passing by) but the walls are made of wood so it might be a bit noisy with other guests.
Since I'm a girl and it's my first time travelling alone, I was a bit anxious at night because there is no lock on the doors. There are no other guests when I booked the stay but I was still a bit scared. I know Japan is a relatively safe country but still I'm not comfortable to sleep somewhere without a lock. I didn't know about this when I booked it. But overall, except for this, the stay was good!

The owner was very kind, he helped us a lot and gave us recommendations for hiking trails.
The house is old but beautiful.
The shower room was old and not comfortable.

Comfortable and cozy lodgings in Chichibu. We stayed for our wedding anniversary and enjoyed a short weekend trip in the national park.
Tachikawa-san is a friendly and hospitable host who was very patient with our beginner Japanese.
He kindly arranged pickup service for guests who wanted to see the famous Misotsuchi Isicles at night, and gave us information about the hiking trails nearby.
He spoke slowly and clearly, which was very helpful.
However, if you don’t understand Japanese, he also speaks good English.
The lodgings were clean, and the historicity of the guesthouse gave it a lot of charm.
Although it was cold outside, the kotatsu and futon were warm and cozy.
Breakfast in the morning (miso soup, rice, pickles, green tea, tofu), which can be ordered separately, was delicious and a nice start to the day.
I would recommend Nishiki Guesthouse to anyone who wants to experience traditional Japanese lodgings and enjoy the beautiful hiking trails in Chichibu National Park.
It’s about 3.5 hours by foot to Mitsumine Shrine with many interesting sights, peaceful forests, and friendly folks to meet along the way.
Buses in the area run infrequently and end early at around 4pm, so if you don’t have a car, it’s best to get an early start and plan to return by then.

Nice hoster, amazing view, delicious food, comfortable futon, there is a real bear at the corner!
No curtains, noise door

After a long day of hiking, a simple but excellent homemade meal was prepared for us. As it was freezing outside, we got hot-water bottles for the night and the sleep was very comfortable.
Since it is an old Japanese house, our room was a bit noisy and was divided by sliding doors. We didn't mind it so much. The shower was outside in a separate building and was very cold (not the water, which was fine)

Very rustic and traditional japanese style inn in a fantastic out-of-the-way location (not to everybodies taste, for example, the closest restaurants are a 20-30 minute drive away..) beds are futon, which, again, not everybody will like.
Owner was very friendly and accommodation; when I booked I didn't know that there was a dinner option, but the owner was able to provide me with dinner after all! In the evening we sat around a fire out in the open until it started to rain, then everybody moved into the common area.
Room door has a window which meant early-morning light comes in.. not conducive to a lie-in lol!

Staff and I enjoyed the meal. Futons very comfortable.
The house is extremely run down and cluttered. The view from the room is nice but it is right by a road however is quiet at night. There is also holes in the mosquito net so I put spray on before bed. But futon beds are very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Overall not bad stay but do no expect a very pristine place.

The views from the room were really nice!
The windows of the rooms face a fairly active road, so there is constant road noise, making it difficult to sleep.

Lovely hosts, memorable stay. Great base for Mitsumine Shrine hike
I did not expect luxuries, so I was happy with the basic standard. The only inconvenience was the fact that it was quite loud at night due to passing cars and thin windows.

Amazing owner!! Wonderful experience.

Probably the best host I have met in my trip. Friendly and helpful. Also, this place is close to nature, allowing options of hiking or taking a bus to Mitsumine Shrine.
It depends on people’s standards.. For me, the river flow is a bit noisy, and the room is not as clean as that of a hotel. The window is not completely sealed so it can be cold at night.
