Nice location in a quiet residential area overlooking the valley. But you need a car to get there. Many indoor and outdoor sitting areas to choose from. The house is traditional in design with wooden floors, walls, and ceilings. The kitchen has a nice view of the valley and the living and dining areas are cozy. Nice big bedrooms and toilets. We love the terrace which is enclosed with an insect screen and overlooks the beautiful mountain beyond.
There is no wifi in the house. The big painting with the lady is eerie and I suggest it be removed. On our last night, we were awakened by a loud noise that started at 3 am until 5 am. The night before it was only 10 minutes of noise. It sounded like a noisy pump drawing water underneath the house. We were so worried it might burst that we stayed awake until the noise was gone. After 5 am, we could not sleep anymore because of the anxiety the noise brought to us. We only slept a maximum of 3-4 hours that night as we needed to check out by 7:30 am to meet friends in Jervis Bay. We were exhausted that day because of lack of sleep. Too bad, this bad experience changed our good impression of the place.

Despite the wet weekend, it was still a very scenic location. Kayenta was a very well appointed and comfortable home to stay in over our weekend away in Kangaroo Valley. Loved the outdoor areas. Great location.

Amazing cozy house very close to town centre. Beautiful view of the valley and the house is fully stocked with everything. Would highly recommend.
Bed was a bit firm though better than being too soft. Apart from that everything else was amazing.

It was a whole house so for 2 people it gave us space opposed to a hotel room. The hot water was very hot maybe a bit too hot. For safety reasons the temperature should be turned down. It could scald a child easily.
It was a little confusing if the food in the freezer was for us to eat or it belonged to either the previous booking or it was the owners private bounty. Consequently we didn’t touch it, no drama there. I realise you pay for the rustic vibe and I loved that but seeing spider webs in the kitchen on the utensil box and dead spiders in the bedroom sort of made me wonder about your cleaner. They certainly didn’t check on everything the day of arrival, that’s the impression I got as the house was extremely musty when we opened the front door. Granted after opening a lot of the doors the smell dissipated but it made me wonder how long ago was anybody there.
