Everything a vacation should be and more
This house is perfect for vacation. The kids all caught fish, frogs and turtles and loved every minute of being on the lake. Easy day trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia and nice to come back to relax by a fire. The owners were very sweet and responsive when we had a question. We wishes we had booked two weeks. We've already recommended this house to others and just left today.

Great location - we had the best vacation
We loved the location - it was quiet but still close to Bar Harbor and lots of activities. The kids loved the lake for swimming and fishing. The house was one of the cleanest house we have rented. It was the perfect set up for two families. The kitchen and family room in the middle with bedrooms off on both sides.

BEST SUMMER RENTAL EXPERIENCE EVER!
The house at Branch Lake was one of the best decisions we've ever made.
We decided to combine a 50th birthday celebration with our summer vacation and were so lucky to stumble upon this home and the terrific owners, Tammy and Jesse. They are easily two of the best owners we have ever dealt with. They could not have been more helpful, accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful and did everything to assure our stay was perfect.
Their home is the perfect getaway; a classy, rustic cabin, that's spacious yet comfortable; impeccably clean, stocked with everything you could possibly need and more. The lake out back is a wonder to explore by yourself on a kayak or with family. We enjoyed many days playing on the lake, grilling outdoors, reading quietly at night and using the cabin as a base to explore everything from Acadia National Park, to Ellsworth to Bar Harbor.
If you love lobster, don't miss asking the owners to bring over a couple of lobsters from a family member who provided us with 3 of the best lobsters we have ever had...in our lives!!! They even provide you with a lobster pot, bibs, lobster crackers and everything you need to have a true Maine lobster experience.
This house is everything you could wish for on a vacation to Maine; only made better by two of the nicest people we have ever met.
Don't miss this place! It'll provide you with memories for years to come!

Beautiful! Loved Branch Lake, Maine
We loved our stay on Branch Lake. The home was clean and spacious, had comfortable beds (King & Queen), and had everything you could need for the kitchen. I loved having the full size washer/dryer in the basement. My kids loved catching frogs and fish in the Lake. Beautiful views of the Lake! The owners are wonderful to work with and have a done an amazing job of making it feel like "home". This is a great location for sight seeing Maine. You won't be disappointed! We hope to come back soon!

Simply, the best!
This was our second year to stay in this fabulous property, owned and managed by the best owners we have ever dealt with. We are fortunate to be able to travel a great deal, and we stay in some really nice places. As far as rental homes go, this is the BEST anywhere. Tammy and Jesse, you make the place what it is, fabulous!
We are going to Europe for two weeks next summer and decided we would forgo Maine next year, but after last week we are reconsidering! The end of July is looking pretty good. This is by far the most relaxing vacation we take every year.
Being on the shallow end or the lake, the water is warmer and zero entry into the water is perfect for the kids. They caught turtles, frogs and countless fish! Jack fished 12 hours a day.
Thanks for the great hospitailty and for sharing your "home".

We had a blast!
We just got back from our Maine family vacation a few days ago and we all had a great time at this lovely house. We had a total of 9 people, 2 couples, 2 seniors, a 6 years old child and 2 teenage boys. There were enough bedrooms and sleeping areas to accommodate everyone and the house came with every thing we needed to cook/eat with. The wildlife we encountered at the house was amazing, we saw bald eagles, beavers, a mink, loons, and ducklings. We loved using the kayak and canoe that come with the house to explore the lake. The kids enjoyed catching frogs, crawfish and everyone enjoyed fishing. The fire pit was a very nice touch. We all enjoyed setting up camp fires and roasting marshmallows at night. If you enjoy being with nature, this is a very nice place to enjoy it with your family. Although the house was close to an hour drive to Acadia National Park, we made the trip there 4 out of the 7 days we were there. Go, the drive is worth it! The drive itself was very pleasant and scenic. Acadia is AMAZING. We were overall very happy with this house and owners hospitality. They were both very responsive and helpful. Can't wait to return to this wonderful house.

Fabulous Summer Vacation Property
This is our second time at this location and we enjoyed ourselves again. It is a great property located on a nice lake away from the busy tourist areas surrounding Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The cabin is located just outside downtown Ellsworth making the location far enough away from the busy areas but close enough to shop.
The cabin is clean, exceptionally maintained and in a great location. The cabin is rustic with a great outdoor theme that fits in well with the lake. Since the last time, they installed air conditioners in the rooms. This was a nice amenity since the temperatures were a little warmer than we had expected. The cabin has everything you need for a family and the addition of the washer and dryer reduced the amount of clothing we needed to bring with us. The cabin was like staying at home except a lot more relaxing. We have no complaints about the quality or condition of the cabin or any of the furnishings.
We rented the boat and had a great time exploring and fishing on the lake. The entire family enjoyed canoeing, kayaking and fishing. The lake had very little activity and was quiet. Our 10 year old was a little reluctant to swim in the lake because of the grass and plants but once she got in she enjoyed herself. The water was about 70 degrees, clear and the depth near the dock about 2-3 feet. Swimming in the deeper water was like swimming in a pool except you were surrounded by various fish e.g. perch, bluegill, etc.
Excellent fishing from the boat and the dock. The entire family looked forward to late afternoon bass fishing. The bass fishing on Branch Lake is excellent once you learn the trick. Catching smallmouth and largemouth bass in the 2-4 pound range was a daily event. Excellent fishing!
The owner is very friendly and easy to work with. We had to make some adjustments to our travel schedule and the owner was more than accomodating. She checked in with us once we arrived to ensure we had everything. Again, the owner is fantastic to work with.
I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice outdoor lake vacation away from the normal tourist traps. This is a great alternative to busy Bar Harbor area but close enough that you can make day trips to shop, eat and hike. This was a great vacation that our family continues to enjoy.

Great getaway
Tammy and Jess have a fantastic home on a really serene lake. The house was exactly as described and met all our expectations. The week we stayed was 95 degrees everyday, so really appreciated the air conditioning.
Couple of tips (not negative, just details for those planning a trip to the area):
- The location is fantastic for a quiet getaway and staying close by. But be aware that restaurants are at least 20min away (apart from a great farmers market/store 5min down the road).
- The house has a/c in the bedrooms, but not in the main living room/kitchen, so temps during the evening got to 83 when we wanted to sit and relax and read, watch a movie, etc. Not a deal-breaker, just meant we had to spend more in the bedroom.
All-in-all a great experience, everything was as explained in the description and Tammy and Jess were very helpful on activities and suggestions. Would definitely recommend a visit to their house for other vacationers.

A Fabulous Rental
My family traveled from New York City to stay in this home for two weeks in August. Being on the peaceful lake was the perfect antidote to our hectic city life. My kids adored catching frogs every morning, fishing and taking the canoe and kayak out. Branch Lake doesn't have a public boat launch, so the lake is very quiet, beautiful and serene.
The house was in impeccable condition and absolutely clean and fresh. Every detail was thought out and the house was very well stocked.
The owners were lovely to work with- warm, friendly, accommodating and very quick to respond when we had questions. They even returned our security deposit on the day we left, so we did not have to wait.
I highly recommend this rental property.

A true Maine lakefront treasure on Branch Lake!
We had the pleasure to vacation at this spectacular property with our 3 children (ages 11, 5, 3), and our parents (we won't mention their ages). We were a bit nervous booking a property without visiting it first, but upon our arrival, found everything to be just as described by the owners--but better! We have stayed in many lakeside rentals, and found this one to be by the best. This property has it all, and everything far exceeded our expectations. The home is beautiful, well appointed, and extremely clean. The home was nicely decorated too- the taxidermy on the walls is amazing. We've never stayed in such a spotless lakeside rental home. The property is perfect for families- there is no specific beach, but there is a nice, easy slope into the lake--no big drop-off to it, or ledges to climb down to access it. There is a bit of sandy frontage near the lake. There is also a large dock leading to the deeper areas. The lake is gorgeous--it's in a quiet cove, warm, shallow water with a mix of some rocks, sand, lily pads, and wildlife. This is an unspoiled natural lakefront despite being located on a populated lake. We were surprised at how peaceful it was here. They were having record high temps during our visit so we really enjoyed the lake and the home a/c units. We all enjoyed the lake--our kids basically lived in it during our stay. They swam, splashed, snorkled, fished, and caught frogs. The kids had a blast hand-feeding sunfish hiding in the water weeds near the dock. Fishing and wildlife viewing are amazing here! We watched a bald eagle, fish jumping, turtles, loons, deer, ducks...right from the patio and dock. We used the 2-person kayak, canoe, and rented the motorboat to explore the lake --lots of fun! The owners were fantastic--very friendly & accommodating--great people to deal with. We had the best vacation at this property and look forward to booking again next summer. Thank you to the owners for making our Maine vacation simply the BEST. Great memories were made at your property. Thank you for sharing it with us. We can't wait to come back!

Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
Our family had an amazing time during our stay at the cabin on Branch Lake. The cabin was extremely clean and comfortable with all the amenities I needed for my family. I personally loved having air conditioning for my kids with allergies, and I know this is hard to find in Maine. The decor and mounts completed the rustic cabin in the woods feel inside, but once you stepped outside, you were transported to the "lakehouse" feel. For us it was the perfect mix. There are other camps on the lake all around, but at no point was it ever loud or bothersome. In fact it was actually very quiet. My husband and I would sit on the dock and enjoy our morning coffee marveling at how peaceful it was. I also like the proximity to the Maine shore, Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park and other coastal Maine towns. We would often get up and fish right off the dock for a little while (the fishing was great!), head out somewhere for a little while and then come back to enjoy the lake some more. There were a few loons that would visit the cove frequently that were so fun to watch. We also saw a bald eagle fly overhead and saw a doe with her 2 fawns munching on the flowers just outside the kitchen window. The memories of the time fishing, swimming and exploring the lake by our dock and climbing on and hopping on the rocks were by far my kids favorite times during the entire vacation (they are 10 and 7). We rented the motorized boat to explore the larger part of the lake outside of our cove, but found ourselves most content just kayaking and exploring closer to the cabin where the fishing was amazing. My kids loved putting on their swim masks and watching the fish swim around their feet...it was a very memorable vacation that will last a lifetime. Thank You!

AMAZING MAINE LAKEFRONT RENTAL! HAS IT ALL!
Hope to come back in 2009! This Property is splendid! The owners are very friendly, and accommodating. The home/property is immaculate! We have never stayed in such a gorgeous, clean rental. Our family vacationed here in July, 2008, and LOVED every minute! Though the bigger part of the lake has several homes around it, this home is located in a very quiet area. There are neighbors on both sides-- quiet and friendly, and kept to themselves. We rarely saw them. This home had everything we needed to enjoy a wonderful vacation. The lake was just a few feet away from the lovely stone lakefront patios. The water was shallow, good fishing. The kids loved swimming, catching frogs & fish. We rented the small motor boat, and had a great time exploring the whole lake.Ellsworth shops were only 12 miles away, Brewer stores only 15, with smaller convenience stores in between. This home was close enough to everything needed, yet far enough away to enjoy ourselves. We didn't want to leave! We also couldn't believe that our rental deposit was already returned to us and waiting in our mailbox at home when we returned. Honest, friendly home owners! Spectacular week at Branch Lake in this beautiful home. Thank you to the owners! We look forward to returning, and will forward info to our friends.

First Class Accommodation
We stayed at Branch Lake in August 2008. The place was perfect for our vacation. There were only 2 of us so space was never going to be a problem, but the cabin is in first class condition throughout. Outside there is a dock and plenty of space for parking. There isn't any big areas for children to play in if you have them. The one very small negative is that the neighbouring house is very close on the left when viewing from the lake, but we had no overlooking windows so it's very minor.
You look out on a small cove on the top right of the very large lake. The canoe is great for exploring and it was mostly quiet, but motor boats and jet skis did sometimes come around. Also some fishermen in boats stopped outside, but never that close to be intrusive.
The owners are great. Very friendly and accommodating. They checked that we were happy after arriving and made sure we had everything we needed. Also very flexible over paying for the rental and returning the deposit.
The cabin is very remote from any built up areas. One morning we had two deer just across the road from the cabin. It’s a short drive to the highway but the closest shops are about 20 - 25 mins in either direction. Elsworth or Bangor.
It was exactly what we wanted, what we expected when we booked it and as I’ve said perfect for our holiday. Not much more I can say.

Best vacation ever in the most spectacular home!
My family and I enjoyed the best vacation ever! The home was beautiful, spotless and just a few feet from the lake. The property was fully stocked with everything needed except personal items, and it was an easy, pleasurable transaction with the owners. This home was sepctacular and offered so much more than we even expected! Our kids loved the lake, and we did too! Swimming, watching the loons & ducks, and fishing was terrific! We even saw a bald eagle! The lake was quiet and we enjoyed our morning coffee out on the patio while watching our kids have fun trying to catch the frogs and fish around the dock. We enjoyed the canoe, (which was included in the rental) and enjoyed the small motor boat we rented from the property owners.Stores, movie theatre, etc.. are only af ew miles away. Awesome farmers market stand close by. Neighbors were very quiet and kept to themselves. Everything was TOP-NOTCH at this place and we can't wait to go back next summer! Thank you to the owners for making this such a beautiful, fun place for others to enjoy!

Beautiful quiet house
This is a new beautiful house on a quiet end of a big lake.
The place is very clean, has everything you need for peaceful vacation time. Beach and lake is suitable for kids. We spent a week there with three little children. The house has only one floor, beach is very flat, so you may not worry about kids falling down. . There are some board games in the house, so kids and even adults may spend some time playing.
There is a canoe in the house and you can take it and explore the beautiful lake. There is a motorboat, but you need to pay extra for using it.
We noticed only one problem in this house (this is why I gave only 4 stars in my review) - there are air condition units installed in the windows, so you cannot sleep with the windows open. You also cannot open doors outside, because there is no mosquito net installed there. As a result of it, we slept with air condition on.

Branch Lake Review
The house itself is very nice and clean! But I would not recommend it for people wishing for a remote, quite getaway. I felt slightly misled when researching this property. My family and I drove over 1200 miles to find an isolated cabin. Based on the pictures shown on the website (which show zero neighboring houses) make it appear that the lake is much less populated than it actually is. There are houses on both sides of this property and the lake its self is heavily populated. The picture on the website is framed exactly to omit the house neighboring home. As for the “quiet cove on desirable Branch Lake” (quote from description on website) was far from that the first three days of our trip. In fact, two houses down from this location…three were approximately 20 people from three or four families having a continuous party. They were blasting salsa music and water tubing in continual circles in the bay directly in front of the property.
Our family was so disappointed in the location that we left the home two days prior to our original checkout time in search of a more tranquil location. The lesson we learned from this ordeal is to ask more specific questions from owners.
The smallmouth fishing was indeed excellent as long you can ignore the jet skis and ski boats buzzing past as you fish.
