Beautiful room, very well decorated, large bathroom. Clean and tidy and very quiet!

Excellent rooms. Lovely comfy beds and bedding. Staff very attentive.
The only thing was the long wait for food. But it was explained and recovered by exceptional staff working hard to resolve the issue.
Would definitely go back.

Location. Courtesy staff, I'va asked for local taxi number and they offered to book for me one.
The mattress wasn't comfortable, the fan in the bathroom was noisy, the room was very warm with the bathroom heating on and not regulable.

Room was cosy and clean with OK facilities. Breakfast very good. Good choice of cooked food and continental buffet. Staff were helpful and good natured. Night time was quite, slept well.
No particular dislikes, Nothing obvious in need of improving.

Liked everything, the accommodation - very clean and comfortable.
Breakfast attended by a very nice member of staff who I would commend for her cheerful and and polite service. Nothing was too much trouble.
The pub was also attended by very nice staff, and in particular, the female manager.

We have stayed at The Feathers several times and are principally attracted by its location (close to family) and affordability (by the standards of the area). The accommodation is probably best described as simple but adequate, with notably comfortable beds and some nice touches such as the provision of small, stainless steel flasks with an invitation to get fresh milk from the bar. Much appreciated as we hate UHT milk in tea. Also appreciated are the invariable friendly and helpful staff, adequate parking and decent WiFi.
On this visit, although the waitresses were excellent, the breakfasts were a bit chaotic with my English ranging from bone dry to relatively greasy and my wife's poached egg being like a bullet and sent out no more than a minute after her porridge one day. (It's replacement was perfect.) I would also question the wisdom of the fitting of floor length curtains in the bedrooms. They look nice and keep out the light but cover the (electric) radiators when pulled. Not good for efficient heating of the rooms, so likely to result in wasted energy, and surely getting close to contravening the "do not cover" instruction on the radiators.

Nice to find a refurbished hotel that kept the bath along with a shower.
Only a little thing but felt directions to Reception (admittedly I turned up on a dark wet night) could be better signed/illuminated.

The bed is very comfortable, the facilities in the room are good, very quiet location. The staff are generally all very happy and cheerful, both at the hotel and at the pub for breakfast. Parking was good.
The breakfast is really poor. I was expecting a buffet breakfast, but you had to order, which was fine. I went for the standard breakfast, which was a really big disappointment. It was very small, and the ingredients felt very cheap and not particularly well cooked. The sausage had the texture of smooth pate in a plastic tube, the scrambled eggs felt dry and not fresh, almost no redeeming parts of the breakfast. The coffee was weak and tasted like instant, however, the guy from Greene King corporate that was staying for the night was offered an 'actually nice coffee' from the machine at the bar. Save your money and get breakfast elsewhere.
The hotel has been recently decorated, the solvent smell in the room was overbearing and, even with the windows open, definitely gave me a headache and made me feel really ill. They really should have sufficiently aired the rooms out after decorating before accepting guests.
My room was very dark, the windows are quite small, and the main light is rather dull, even with all the lights on in the room, it felt very 'cosy' even in the middle of the day. Not very conducive to being able to get much work done in your room.

Disappointed there was no breakfast available. We were aware that the bar and restaurant would be closed during our stay, however we were not made aware until we had booked that this meant no breakfast at all would be available. as our booking was non-refundable, this was disappointing.

The room was clean with a nice bathroom and comfy bed.
I booked a room with bed and breakfast and was looking forward to the traditional bar and restaurant which serves tasty food and real ales as advertised. On arrival I was informed that the bar was closing at 6pm with no evening food available and there is no breakfast available. I was offered a £7.50 refund.

The room was clean, the facilities were great, made for a comfortable stay. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Parking and access were not an issue.
The breakfast wasn't so organised, it seemed on this particular morning they were understaffed and all were rushed off their feet. Despite this the staff did a good job to keep waiting times very low and they were very helpful and polite.

Recently refurbished so room 17 was presented very well, very clean and comfortable and new. Everything worked as it should however a major leak occurred from one of the windows. The staff response was immediate and helpful and no fault attaches to them for this - let's hope a permanent fix is found soon.
All staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay and we felt welcome.
There is ample car parking.
Good value and this weekend the Feathers was significantly cheaper than the nearby Premier Inn.
We ate in the hotel on Monday evening at about 6.00. Whilst the food was fine, service was on the slow side and this is not a criticism of the young waiter who was doing his best but he could have done with more assistance. (We recognise the staffing difficulties experienced by so many venues though)
