Just ok
The rooms were spacious and bed very comfortable.
Staff were not very friendly, no smiles or going above and beyond for customers. Didn't make any effort to note we travelling for our daughters first birthday. Waiting staff at restaurant were very rushes for us to order.

A lovely stay overall.
Great location, lovely rooms, nice breakfast and bar.
Asked at reception if I could get a coffee to sit out in the sun and read the paper at 11.30am on a Monday morning. I was told no. There was no one to make the coffee.

Overall great, just check receprion a little bit more of genuine smile and greating
Really everything was excellent. Staff in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast were great. Anyone staff we met around the hotel were great.
We both thought the reception area was poor and mainly the staff, it was cold and uninviting very matter of fact, almost as if they didn’t want to be there. As I travel a lot and stay in many hotels I view reception as very important as it is the first point of contact with the customer and sets the scene for the stay.

A short stay but lovely insight to Irish culture.
- good location. Not in the centre of Donegal town but close to enough to walk to. - hotel seems relatively new, good facilities. I had messaged prior to arriving to ask if our bedroom would have a bath fitted as my little girl with autism does not like showers and they said they would mark us down for a room with a bath which was lovely and accommodating. -friendly and accommodating reception staff. -lovely gardens and grounds -lovely beer garden facilities for whenever the sun shines.
-Breakfast was not as expected. They put on a good spread buffet style but took ages for staff to come over and offer tea and toast (nearly whenever we had finished our breakfast) whenever they did it almost immediately with other tables. On the website it said different types of eggs were offered- fried, scrambled, boiled & poached. But it was only two options- fried and scrambled. My little girl with autism loves a boiled egg, it’s one of her safe foods, so that was a shame. By the time we arrived for breakfast there was no apple juice left, no croissants, limited pastries. Such a shame this was not topped up or catered for. -was not informed that swimming pool facilities shut for children after the hours of 7. On the first night we arrived back to the hotel around 18:30 and asked staff at reception if we needed money for lockers and they seen I was with my little girl and did not inform us ‘oh swimming facilities shut for children after 7’ this is reasonable of course but not communicated as I asked prior what time the leisure facilities open too and they said 8. As mentioned our little girl has autism so we went to the room, got ready for swimming and arrives down around 18:45 to be informed by the staff at the leisure that it was closed which of course caused a meltdown for my little girl, whenever she sees the pool being used and does not understand she cannot use it because of her autism and severe learning disability. If this was communicated with us prior it would have saved a meltdown for 1+ hour for us. Staff at leisure facilities seemed like they didn’t want to be there, on both days seemed very dismissive and rude. - found it inconvenient that the hotel has leisure facilities and not the use of robes/slippers to were down to the spa/pool for guests staying within the complex .you have to get changed in the changing facilities. -also found it inconvenient that there was no fridge in the room to store drinks. -room was very very hot.

expensive considering the poor standard of catering. Many new staff struggling with their training. one Receptionist in
Great rooms and bathrooms although the shower grate was in the exact location you would like to stand in to avail of the rain head shower and in room 120 it was loose and could be a slip hazard for an older guest.
Dinner was absolutely atrocious. I chose a Mexican chicken dish from a difficult menu. The basket and covering corn chips were grossly over cooked. same for the cheese topping. the spice blend for the chicken was more Indian than Mexican. I recommend hotels avoid ethnic foods if they can’t manage the authenticity. I travelled with my 88 year old mother. The hotel could not cater for her request for a small fresh sandwich and pot of tea in lieu of an evening meal as she did not have an appetite for the dinner menu. it is staggering to think a hotel can only serve dining room fare as part of their room service.
