It was spacious and very clean and comfortable
There was no reception area and therefore no place to store luggage. This would not matter if you had your own transport, but we did not

The apartment is pretty and cozy, nothing to complain about, washing machine available and a full kitchen for the ones who likes to cook.
The main bedroom is large and the bed is comfortable.
The sofa bed in the living room is also fine. Bathroom is small but well organized, shower is nice with rainfall water.
Downstairs there is a restaurant which is part of the business (you can have breakfast there). From room to old city of Carcassonne is just 10 minutes walk.
Parking lots available in front of the property (the back entrance) and if you are lucky enough you can find a spot.
I usually don’t complain much about attitude but I found this time a bit strange what happened.
We booked the room around 6:30 pm informing that we were arriving by 9:30 pm. When arrived we found the sofa bed not ready (we booked the room for 3 person) and when we called the owner to know where the bedsheet were and why the bed wasn’t done she said “you booked late, you don’t expect me to come over and prepare the bed for you?”.
Well, I don’t mind to prepare a bed myself but we paid for a service and the service was not fully delivered. It should have been better if she would have said “oh really sorry, maybe the lady in charge just forgot! Accept my apologies”. Sometime attitude just make difference.
Anyway, for this issue , we have been offered a free breakfast for the following morning (we paid 2 and we get 3) and we appreciated it.

Spacious, beautiful place in the centre of action and with everything you need in it i.e. extra towels, extra sheets, cuttlery, dishes, fridge, washing machine, dryer, coffee maker, teas, coffees etc. Amazing host who lets you be independent i.e. self check-in but who is always there for you and goes above and beyond (they dropped us to the lake and to the airport when we had trouble with the buses). Few mins walk from the castle and a bit longer (15mins) walk to the new town.

We stayed in a suite. The property manager sent the entrance code and procedure early so getting in was a breeze. The apartment is clean with fresh linens, hot water, good water pressure. The manager Clara, is super responsive. We loved the fact that we could bring groceries to cook in the well equipped kitchen and enjoy our meal at the dining table. We could sprawl on the dated sofa. The entire place is well heated and spacious. The bedroom has a closet and spare linens. Le Passage is within easy walking distance to The Citadel of Carcassonne and Chateau Comtal. There are a number of restaurants in the neighborhood. We stayed during January 2023 and experienced first snow in 10 years!!
The curtains seemed to be dusty. the shower was difficult to turn on.

The location, the size of the room, the availability of restaurants and cafes within a short walk. The bathroom was luxurious except there was only one tiny bar of soap.
When I arrived and picked up my keys, the property owner (or her son?) happened in at the same time and carried my baggage up the two flights of stairs. I could never have managed that alone.at my age and I always felt secure and safe. However there was nothing to inform me of the wifi password until my last day. When leaving, I had to wrestle my baggage down the 2 flights of stairs by myself. Some way of contacting the owner's would have been a great help.

This was an amazing find! Located 10mins from the city ruins and on a lovely little street with restaurants. For 2 adults and 3 children the fact it had 3 separate bedrooms and 2 toilets was a real plus point. The host could not have been more accommodation and responsive. Any time I needed help she replied straight away. It is a quirky building with sloped floors and small windows but I think that just added go the experience. Fantastic value for money and we loved our 3 night stay!
Some noise came through the windows at night but not enough to put us off going back again

Le Passage is spotlessly clean and well equipped. A fully functional kitchen, (even though we only used the fridge and coffee machine) and a bathroom that would rival the poshest boutique hotels. Amazing rain shower, just what was needed after a day of exploring Carcassonne in the heat. The apartment slept five people easily, two very comfortable bedrooms and a large sofa bed, all with fresh clean linen provided, the two double beds were already made up upon arrival. Towels were also provided. The apartment is located a short walk from both the old and the new cities, so ideally positioned for visiting both. It is above (two flights of stairs) a lovely restaurant/bar that has a good menu. We had tapas there and they were delicious.
We found the apartment with relative ease from the address given in the correspondence and parking at the back was free. We would highly recommend Le Passage as an ideal and comfortable base for visiting Carcassonne.

Very nicely decorated, but beware of extremely low ceilings in the room.
My bed was purposely left unmade. Where in the world is the bed not made before guests arrive? The bed had a comforter/bed spread laid out nicely on the bed and there were 2 flat sheets and 2 pillow cases folded and laying at the foot on the bed. Worse when I communicated through the Booking.com website I never got an answer to explain why the room was not fully prepared.
Also, I was not aware of any check-in restrictions. I had to sit outside the hotel for 45 minutes waiting for a staff member to arrive, who never new that there was a guest checking in.

very convenient location, closed to the old town but in a quiet area and convenient for parking (free)
There was no soap to wash hands in the apartment - would have been useful

The location could not be better beneath the walls of Chateau Comtal. Convenient parking to the rear of the property too. It all worked very well and Charles was able to respond to a last minute booking request. Thanks.
