Beautiful place next to the beach. Very nice, definitely recommend.

I liked the ambience. Since we travelled as a family. It was clean. We liked the host. The food was good. The cafe was just opposite to akasa which added to the comfort.
However I had the safety concerns on insects and snakes,, as the facility had the ambience mainly with trees, plants and bushes.Since we did not see anything of that sort, we were happy.

The staff at Villa Akasa were amazing - especially Pramod who went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed (including taxis, tuktuks and finding somewhere else to stay in Varkala when we decided to extend and Villa Akasa didn’t have availability.
The rooms is spacious and lovely with a cute balcony where your breakfast is served (there was also a great choice at breakfast) - the bathroom was huge and the large shower was perfect!
We also loved the quiet location of South cliff and the range of cute cafes around (we went to Trip cafe every day!) it’s also just 15 mins from North cliff if you want to be more in the thick of it.
The bed and pillows were a little on the hard side for us and we noticed animal droppings in the room (other than that the cleanliness was great). We also had trouble paying by card so definitely take cash with if you can.
Nevertheless I would most definitely stay at Villa Akasa again :)

I loved this place. South Cliff is much more peaceful, authentic and local than North Cliff. Shama, Pramod and the rest of the staff were excellent. The dogs were gorgeous. We stayed in the King Room which was enormous, very bright and airy with a lovely view. Excellent value for money. Equally the rooms by the pond looked beautiful. The beach closest to the house is also the most beautiful, quietest and cleanest part of that coast. Quickest access is via the cafe in front which is a lovely spot but they did play terrible Eurotrash music which killed my vibe when I passed through. I'd highly recommend staying at Villa Akasa. There is generally a problem with litter at beauty spots in Kerala and everyone should play a part in cleaning it up.
The comments above about litter. However, Villa Akasa itself is spotless - the issue is a general concern for the state of Kerala.

The breakfast was really amazing. It felt like home.
The typical clean cooked food was served as per my convenience. The options were less though but overall presentation and hospitality was too good. It's worth living at this villa.
Everything was perfect.

The place was beautiful. Absolutely green, serene and so peaceful. The beach is at a stone's throw away. Although the property doesn't have a sea view there's a cafe right behind which has an exceptional view of the sea. The rooms were tastefully done, bathroom was beautiful and was very spacious. Loved the two little dogs who made our stay even more wonderful. The staff was very sweet and helpful. Special mention to Pramod who ensured we had everything we wanted. Absolutely loved the breakfast. It was fresh, delicious and beautifully served. We had home made bread with home made jackfruit jam, eggs, fruits and coffee on day 1, aloo paratha on day 2 which was brilliant and dosa on day 3. Will definitely come back here. Highly recommend this place.

Very well maintained, a green cove just as in pictures. Peaceful premise, service was non intruding, pramod and gopan was very friendly and helpful with all our needs. Yako and Sophie is as much a part of the stay.
The South cliff beach is just a walk away, less crowded and picturesque cliff view
nothing to highlight here

Everything about Villa Akasa was amazing. The room is spacious and well maintained with a beautiful open bathroom, delicious home cooked meals and the most helpful staff who took care of all our needs. Highly recommend this place if you visit Varkala.
Nothing to complain about

At Villa Akasa, I stayed in a beautiful spacious room called Vayu, it was full of natural light and had a large attached bathroom. The room was very tastefully decorated and just like in the photographs shown. I loved sitting in the balcony on comfortable chairs overlooking the lush garden and the treetops of the village. I got to see local birds, butterflies and a peacock crossing the road. The bed is large and comfortable. It takes about a day to unwind from frenetic city pace to life at Villa Akasa. Everything is slower and takes some time and you adjust to the pace but all your requirements are met and any hiccups are ironed out. Both the gates at the villa lead to pleasant beaches close by, as do the steps of the friendly Cafe opposite the villa.
Pramod is cheery, takes care of your needs and is very informative about everything. Shama is friendly, she will pop in occasionally to make sure things are all right.
The breakfast was adequate. Tried different things. The best breakfast was the aloo parathas. Appam and stew was okay. Loved the coffee and fruit that is served with the breakfast. The vegetarian meals were home cooked and it was much nicer eating on the balcony than at a touristy cafe. However for a change of fare or a generous Chai or ice cream, there is a very nice new cafe opposite Villa Akasa where you can sit undisturbed and enjoy the view of the beach from above and even climb down to the water below. Villa Akasa gives a home away from home vibe which is comforting and relaxing. I'd love to come here again.
Good things come at a price and so does this place which can be fairly steep for the average solo traveler. Perhaps my only grouse is the cost of the meals, 500 bucks for a basic vegetarian meal (in spite of Shama reducing the price to 500 for me) is rather steep if you intend to have most of your meals here. However the food was tasty and served to me on my balcony, so it was nice. Also, Villa Akasa and its team ticked all the right boxes for a solo female traveler. This has been an enjoyable holiday.
